My wife and I purchased a vehicle about a month ago. We went there one weekend with our two young children, met with our sales professional Kyle who was lovely, test drove the car we were interested in We went there one weekend with our two young children, met with our sales professional Kyle who was lovely, test drove the car we were interested in and then began discussing pricing. We went through several options for monthly payments based on our trade in value and down payment, eventually landing on a number that felt good for both sides. The final step was signing the paperwork with the "finance" guy. We were told they were short staffed and he was helping other customers but the wait should not be too long.... completely understandable. After almost an hour, my children started to get very very restless. We kept getting told "just another 10 minutes" and after about 30 more minutes big Mike the finance guy was ready to see me. By this time I was just ready to get out of there. We had been there several hours from start to finish, my kids had had enough and we had already agreed on the monthly payments. I began signing the paperwork Mike was putting in front of me rapid fire and I will fully admit that I should have read more carefully and asked more questions. I ended up agreeing to almost $5000 of add ons which raised the monthly payment we agreed to by almost $65 per month (over the course of a 7 year loan that is real money)! What is most disappointing about this experience is when we followed up a month later with Mike. We were simply looking for a breakdown of the add ons and why this was not something Kyle included in the monthly payment we agreed to. Mike, who just a month ago shook my hand and said call him "day or night' with any questions was no longer interested in that offer. He was clearly annoyed that he had to waste his time explaining this to us, repeatedly reminded us "we signed the paperwork" which was incredibly unhelpful and overall just dismissive. He did send us a complete breakdown of the costs via email which you would have thought was asking him to perform open heart surgery based on his reaction to that question. At the end of the day, I fully acknowledge and own my mistake. I should have read the fine print and made the mistake of trusting someone selling me a car. My guess is, based on my experience and after reading some other reviews, this is pretty standard practice for Mike and it was not his first rodeo. It is very disappointing because we really love the car. If you choose to give them your business, understand you can opt out of some of these add ons even if they do not present you with that option when they are putting papers in front of you to sign. Attached is a separate review we found from a year ago detailing the exact experience we had from another unsuspecting victim.
