We had a great experience working with Sara Brown in purchasing our 2024 Kia Telluride. This was a high demand vehicle and we wanted a very specific color, interior, and trim, but weren't in a hurry to purchasing our 2024 Kia Telluride. This was a high demand vehicle and we wanted a very specific color, interior, and trim, but weren't in a hurry to buy. I didn't want to deal with the traditional hassle of the car buying experience, so reached out to about 6 dealerships within my area, getting Sara's name here from DealerRater. Some dealers were just OK, some immediately dove into shady tactics (bogus add-ons, insane markups, constantly handing me off from one salesperson to another, trying to get me to buy a model or color I didn't want, refusing to give me pricing until I was there at the dealership, etc), but to her credit Sara played none of these games from the very first email interaction until the last (we're at 40+ emails in our thread, since the model we wanted took a month to arrive). Of course there was *some* car sales negotiation and hiccups along the way ... we went back and forth over final price, we didn't get quite as much for our trade as we wanted (it was a manual transmission, and hardly anyone wants a manual anymore), things took longer than we wanted during pickup and we had to go back a second time ... but at no point did it feel high pressure or overly manipulative. That said, we LOVE the car, got some great bonuses, and when we did go back, Sara is extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the dozens of cool features, settings, and safety items, and had the car detailed. Bottom line, because of the rapport we had and that she was 100% straight up with us and had great communication, we stuck with Sara and Kia of Puyallup the whole way through and waited for our car to be delivered, even when other dealers had the car we wanted pop up on the lot before then. Rich Purdy and Scott Clyburn were both very helpful and kind. Rich did a great job making sure we got to drive a vehicle that fitted our wants, and then located a 2024 Sorento that was coming in for us. Wi kind. Rich did a great job making sure we got to drive a vehicle that fitted our wants, and then located a 2024 Sorento that was coming in for us. Without even requiring a deposit, they put our name on the vehicle and kept us informed as to when it would arrive. No haggling on price! It came in early (Oct. 31st) and Scott did a great job on the delivery! We might have gotten one of the first 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid SX Prestige vehicles with Panoramic Sunroofs in the NW. I highly recommend these folks! More
Overall, we had a decent experience and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend not going there, but read more below. I really don’t like the car buying process (outside of my previous experience with Milita necessarily recommend not going there, but read more below. I really don’t like the car buying process (outside of my previous experience with Military Auto Source which is no haggle), but the sales associate we dealt with was very pleasant and tolerated our two little ones, who ran out of patience as the deal for our 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid was being finalized, quite well. HOWEVER, definitely do your homework on trade-in value if you’re looking to trade and stick to your guns on your price (or shop around). Their website (like most others) will direct you to Kelley Blue Book (KBB) to get a rough estimate of your trade-in value, but they use CARFAX as their starting point (as do most dealerships I believe). And for me, they initially offered the lowest end of the CARFAX estimate, which I suppose is typical, but it was $3000 under my original $20,000 goal (right in the middle of the KBB estimated value for trade-in) and definitely not a top dollar offer. They went up from there using the “let me go talk to my manager” routine several times, but never quite reached my goal. My vehicle, a very clean 2017 VW GTI Sport with just over 27,000 miles, was in a no damage fender bender and they a) suggested that meant it had a dirty title (which it does not) and b) it would be more difficult to sell as a result (ok, maybe). I told them I planned to sell it privately for $23,000 and believed that’s around the number they were likely to sell it for and was told “the manager” said it would probably be re-sold for about $21,000. It’s on their website today priced at $23,995. Good for them, but feels like their valuation was disingenuous at the very least.I even got an incredulous look when our negotiations got to within $800 of the new number I was willing to accept, which was sill $1000 under my original goal, as if a family of 5 was now trying to bilk a dealership instead of the other way around. I also made the mistake of letting them know up front that I wasn’t looking to finance the new car so don’t do that. I suspect that played a role in the lowball initial offer on my trade-in. As for pricing on the 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid, it was marked at MSRP so that was simple enough, although they wanted us to believe that meant they wouldn’t make any profit ignoring the fact that MSRP is not the same as invoice pricing. The MSRP pricing was really the only reason we chose Kia of Puyallup since other locations still had their markups added despite it being time to clear old inventory for incoming 2024s. That’s about it. Not a bad experience, but a typical car buying experience I suppose. More

He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle o wanted and answered every question as we went over the vehicle and let me tell you there was a lot of them. There was no high pressure to buy the vehicle and no calls to my house saying things like this deal might not be around long and this is the last one like that or someone else is very interested in it. Overall I was extremely satisfied with the whole buying experience. I would highly recommend Brandon and KIA of Puyallup to all my friends. More
