This was a horrific experience! The salesman and finance man refused to give me the car price and any discounts, etc in writing. They just kept handing me papers with the amount of a monthly payment and the man refused to give me the car price and any discounts, etc in writing. They just kept handing me papers with the amount of a monthly payment and the amount of a downpayment for me to initial. All I wanted was the numbers so I could bring them to my bank to see about financing...but they kept pressuring me to use their bank - Capitol One- with figures sight unseen. Eventually, I demanded my keys back. The finance man yelled at me and followed me outside, continuing to harangue me as I drove away. "You are missing the deal of a lifetime! Why won't you listen to me?!" Have never been treated so disrespectfully as a customer. More
On two separate occassions I had service needs for my Optima (which I had bought elsewhere) and the timeliness and friendliness of the staff was superb. When looking for a Kia I would try them first and Optima (which I had bought elsewhere) and the timeliness and friendliness of the staff was superb. When looking for a Kia I would try them first and have recommended others to them. More
I'm not going to spend too many words here, since I'm taking action with Kia USA to stop people like these to offend customers with their lack of professionalism. All I'm saying is that after hours o taking action with Kia USA to stop people like these to offend customers with their lack of professionalism. All I'm saying is that after hours of negotiations with them, last Saturday they gave me a final price of $20,000 for a Sportage EX. And they also gave me the car for the weekend. Today (Monday) I went back to buy this great car, but the sales manager (Chris) with an extremely arrogant approach "explained" that the $20,000 wasn't a deal at all, that probably I may have misundertstood, etc etc. I also called Jesus and Louis (the people I dealt with, that gave me the final deal) and in front of their sales manager they didn't even repeat and confirm what they told me on Saturday. So, the sales manager told me that I should have asked them to put something written (or recorded). You can imagine my reaction. And the experience was much worst than I described here. I'm taking action with Kia USA, since this is simply not acceptable. Don't even go there, and if you go, take a recorder hidden in your pocket when you negotiate. More
They start pricing at $2000.00 over MSRP and then proceed to try to cheat you more from there. If they were not paying big advertising dollars to the newspaper and the television stations to keep them from to try to cheat you more from there. If they were not paying big advertising dollars to the newspaper and the television stations to keep them from letting people know how crooked they are they would not be in business. Would not buy anything from this dealership ever. More
As a former sales employee of this dealership, I cannot emphasize how much you should stay away from this delaership. They try to pop you for more than full price on the vehicle, cram on extras, and maximi emphasize how much you should stay away from this delaership. They try to pop you for more than full price on the vehicle, cram on extras, and maximize your payment so that you are BBB (Buried Beyond Belief). They even brag about sticking it to the customers (e.g., 'we stuck it in all the way') and what kind of outrageous commissions they make during the sales meetings. This dealership is the kind of place that gives the auto sales industry a black eye as a whole. Thank God I've moved onto another dealership that respects their customers and has ethics and morals. I went here to get a Kia Spectra 5 because I currently had a Chevy Silverado pickup. After talking with the dealer for 7 hours we finally got what we wanted. They would take over the payments on the Sil had a Chevy Silverado pickup. After talking with the dealer for 7 hours we finally got what we wanted. They would take over the payments on the Silverado and get me my monthly payments on the Spectra 5 at $275 a month. Financing was approved and everything. Then, three weeks after having the vehicle, I get a letter from Wells Fargo (who does their financing) saying that they declined my approval for the Spectra. They also said that the Silverado is still under my name and not the name of the dealership (who took it as a trade-in to take over the payments). Now they're trying to say that even though I was declined for financing that the paperwork shows me under contract for the Spectra 5. But also still under contract for the Silverado. Basically, they're wanting me to return the Spectra 5 but still fulfill the contract on it as well as the contract on the Silverado. This company is trying to cost me an extra $275 a month for a vehicle that I won't even have. I'm talking with some attorneys about legal action against this dealer. I thought I was getting a good deal but it was nothing but a headache. I strongly urge anyone to look elsewhere in Austin before even stepping on the grounds of Capitol Kia. More
I would never, ever deal with a dealer that SPAMS THE AIRWAVES CONSTANTLY WITH LOUD, HARD-SELL COMMERCIALS. These annoying commercials are on both tv and radio every 10 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I r AIRWAVES CONSTANTLY WITH LOUD, HARD-SELL COMMERCIALS. These annoying commercials are on both tv and radio every 10 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I realize that businesses need to advertise in one way or another, and that marketing experts have proven formulas for generating sales leads with X amount of ad exposure. Many used car dealers as well as new car dealers sometimes use loud, hard-sell commercials, but Capitol KIA takes things to a new level, a really annoying, painful level! I wouldn't even buy a used car or another make from the owner of this dealership. More
I would not feel comfortable purchasing a car from this dealer. After informing the salesman I was looking for a Sorento LX, the salesman led me to the closest one and started his sales pitch. He was ver dealer. After informing the salesman I was looking for a Sorento LX, the salesman led me to the closest one and started his sales pitch. He was very well rehearsed; even telling me where to stand so I could see the features he was describing. This was ok until I asked specific questions that he did not know the answer to. He would make up an answer or ignore my question and continue his presentation. He clearly knew nothing about the vehicle other than what he was taught to say. I asked if I could purchase one without the $795 anti theft chip in the key that had been added on a separate window sticker and was told no, they all have that. Once we completed the demonstration, I found myself sitting in the passengers seat with the door closed and he was backing the car out of the parking space. We proceeded to the edge of the parking lot and after explaining how quiet the car was, he entered into traffic on the access road of US Hwy 183. We were soon doing 70 mph and neither of us had a seat belt on. He pulled into a neighborhood behind the dealership and asked me to drive. Fortunately I had already driven a Sorento so I refused. We made it back to the dealership alive where I asked for a quote on that specific car including my trade-in so I could take it to my bank for financing. Several forms were filled out about my trade-in and then he was off to see his sales manager. He returned with one form where scribbled in black marker was written; OK DEAL, +TRADE, +REBATE, +3000, -> 489.10. I told the salesman that was not what I needed. I needed something that showed tax, title, trade-in value, etc for my bank. After two trips back and forth from the sales manager and 20 minutes later I got what I wanted on paper. But it was not signed, therefore useless. More
This was the most horrible experience I have ever had when trying to buy a car. I did not realize that car dealerships still operated with high pressure sales and shady promises. I gave Jesus my car ke when trying to buy a car. I did not realize that car dealerships still operated with high pressure sales and shady promises. I gave Jesus my car key to have my car appraised for a trade-in. When Jesus came back with a sale price after I had requested a lease term I decided I did not want to deal with him and asked for my car key to be returned so that I could leave. He then wanted me to sign a written statement that said I would buy a car if he got it down to a certain payment. Remember, I wanted a lease, told him so, and he would not listen to me. I repeatidly asked for my key back so I could leave, and my request was ignored. I almost called the police until someone finally brought the key up. Even the floor manager was awful, when I tried to get help from him to get my key back, he asked me why I was having a problem buying a car, and when I again asked him for the key, he kind of looked around and said he didn't know where it was. This was the first time they acknowledged that I was asking for the key back, eventhough I had asked at least 6 times. I cannot believe that these people are still in business. More
