I was asked to leave when I did not want to pay their $2200 fee for window tint and tire pertection. They did not even have the windows tinted on the car but they were charging for it. This place is a $2200 fee for window tint and tire pertection. They did not even have the windows tinted on the car but they were charging for it. This place is a complete rip off and should be shut down by kia motor company. I went and bought at the competitor South Point Kia and had no issues and no BS games. They gave me a fair deal and made the deal quickly. Capital kia should be avoided at all costs. More
These people are highly unethical. I purchased a car and went through all of the hard sales tactics many other reviewers on this site experienced. They went over the top when I got a phone call a few days went through all of the hard sales tactics many other reviewers on this site experienced. They went over the top when I got a phone call a few days after I closed the sale and they asked me to come in and "sign a paper they forgot about." When I got there, they informed me that my trade in vehicle had problems and they were no longer willing to take it. They gave me the option of returning my new car on the spot, or taking back my trade in and refinancing or paying them the difference. I eventually filed a lawsuit against them. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this den of unethical criminals. More
Tom Ho lied the finance guy when he said that the car had 25 miles on it when I bought it, but when I stepped back into the drivers seat I noticed it had 69. I should have walked right back in and had them c 25 miles on it when I bought it, but when I stepped back into the drivers seat I noticed it had 69. I should have walked right back in and had them change that info on the agreement. They tried to stick me with a 75 k warranty without telling me, they advertise 100k all over the place. I should have walked out right then and there. I was there for hours without them offering me anything to drink. They treated me like a fish on a hook just because I was a woman. Tom kept talking about the color and how "pretty it is" in his most feminine voice. Two days later I called tom just to ask him a question about the gas card I was offered. He never called me back. Then I went up there that night and just asked him as i tried to avoid being mean "Tom I haven't heard from you. What's going on?" and instead of just saying "well i'm here now, what can i do for you?" he became indignant and stubborn as he angrily told me he did call and then showed me some sheets of paper with the message the receptionist left for him as if it were proof. I truly regret buying my first new from Capital Kia. They have ruined the sense of joy i had over getting a new car, and they did not try to make it right. More
My husband and I contacted this dealership today regarding a vehicle on their inventory website. My husband was pre-approved and told that he would be contacted as to the availability of the vehicl regarding a vehicle on their inventory website. My husband was pre-approved and told that he would be contacted as to the availability of the vehicle in question. Since he was not contacted, I called hours later. I spoke to the same salesperson, Janae, who asked if we wanted to come look at it as it was available at their location. I said that we would be there after I got off work. I asked their closing time so that she would realize that I would be there soon. I spoke with her at approximately 3:15 p.m. and my husband and I got to the dealership at around 5:15 p.m. We were quickly greeted by a friendly salesman, Jessie, who asked us to come inside to see Janae. He got chairs for my children and me to sit with him at a table. We were informed that Janae had strep throat and had gone home. Jessie if we were interested in a new vehicle. I told him that we came to see something specific and could we just see it. He then went to the very high counter and was informed that it had been sold. I was upset and asked to speak to the manager. Instead of coming out from behind the counter, Pancho Martinez, who told me that he was the manager, stayed behind the counter. Never once did he apologize for us having to drive to the dealership with 3 children in tow. He was rather indignant. I was upset--never once did he try to help or listen to my complaint. He told me that he did not understand why I was upset. Clearly, I was upset that I had wasted time and money. Then, I asked for his name which he reluctantly gave to me. I then asked for the owner's name. I was told that there is no owner. I asked for the corporate headquarters address. To this, he said that he had no idea what that would be. This seemed incredulous to me. Then he revealed that he was a visiting sales manager, whatever that is. Lo and behold, the general manager, Jason Thompson, was sitting next to him. However, I had to ask for his name 3 times before he decided to give it to me. I am not sure that he really was Jason Thompson; I hope for your sake that he was not and just lied to me. They both informed me that it would do absolutely no good to get their names and make a complaint because there was no one who would listen or care. Interesting to me..is that true? Do you not care about customers? In this economy--do you really want to alienate customers who are relatively young with children who will need cars? This dealership needs some customer service training. Had they come out from behind the counter and listened to my complaint and truly apologized for not being able to deliver the vehicle that I wanted, I would not have been happy but I would not be frustrated, mad, upset, etc. The slogan at the bottom of the page is "The Power to Surprise"--please, surprise me. Worst experience I have ever had. #1. Advertised Worst experience I have ever had. #1. Advertised $7900 Kia Rio - I called and specifically asked Jason if they had any of these on the lot avail Worst experience I have ever had. #1. Advertised $7900 Kia Rio - I called and specifically asked Jason if they had any of these on the lot available for purchase if I came in immediately; he responded that there were 4. After hours of bickering and trying to get me to buy other cars - with absolutely NO reduction over the sticker price; I said that I just wanted to buy the $7900 Rio with no AC, there were some on the lot, but they weren't available (notice I ASKED SPECIFICALLY as I have run into the gotcha deals before). Well, there were NONE available according to the staff. I asked to speak to Jason who had lied to me, they wouldn't get him. I asked to speak to a manager, and he said "I don't know why he would tell you that" - but would not get Jason for me to speak to directly. I immediately walked out. #2. Marcus called back and said he had called around and found one person who would wait for another. Then he asked me what color I would like. I believe those ads are purely gimmicks and they do anything to prevent you from buying those available because they don't make money. I read another review where the person was told that the price $7900 was only for military. #3. They also had a used Honda Civic on the site. We purchased that car. After picking it up a day later, they then called and said they needed to do emissions testing. Meanwhile we noticed that the new tires were badly out of balance. I had a salesman say they would take care of that while it was in, but they then called and said the purchase was "as is" and they would charge me. Now I am afraid that all of the "safety checks" they have done weren't really. I'm sorry, but new tires not balanced??? #4. Would NEVER go there for service, drive to get a time online, and speaking to reps; booked out for weeks in advance. I'm sticking with Honda and Honda dealers. Do not shop here. Do not believe anything they say; hey don't even believe published ads. Apparently, no matter what the salesmen say or do, it is perfectly okay. More
I have had only positive experiences when i have been at capitol kia. All of the salesman are incredibly helpful, and courtieous. I do not know why people are writing all these bad reviews. I guess you also capitol kia. All of the salesman are incredibly helpful, and courtieous. I do not know why people are writing all these bad reviews. I guess you also just have to go in there with the right attitude. My salesman Jimmy was very knowledeable on all aspects of the spectra that he showed me. and I LOVE MY CAR! I have taken it back numerous times for my oil changes and scheduled maintinence, and EVERYONE at the delarship is awesome. After calling to see if they still had any '07 Sportages in stock and told to hurry in because they had one left, my sister and I (who are 24 and 22 year old women) went to look at the car. Upon arriving th in stock and told to hurry in because they had one left, my sister and I (who are 24 and 22 year old women) went to look at the car. Upon arriving they said that they had just sold the '07 but could get me a great deal on an '08. After being there for several hours, they had a deal written up with the final price of the vehicle (which the MSRP for was 22,000) at $30,000. Every Sportage in stock had tinted windows, the anti-theft etching, and "special" carpets, which added over $2,000 to the price of the vehicle and probably cost them next to nothing to install. They tried to sneak in the fact that the financing was over a 72 month term, as opposed to a 60 month term, which caused the overall cost to skyrocket. When I realized this the finance manager said "Oh, the salesman didn't tell you that we were talking about a 6 year plan? Probably not I guess..." We left with the car and the deal with a 48-hour contingency attached so that I could get my dad's approval, and upon realizing how badly we were scammed took the car back immediately. They then kept us there for another 45 minutes, negotiated the car down to a total of $24,000, and said that they would give me that deal and would be taking a 2,500 dollar loss in the sale. We insisted several times that we simply wanted the paperwork and the down payment check shredded or returned to us and to leave, and they still persisted in trying to sell us the car. In all, it was a waste of a perfectly good Saturday that left me feeling scammed and humiliated, and dealing with my furious father. Tomorrow I will be going to Southpoint. More
I went to Capitol Kia yesterday after seeing a 2004 Trailblazer listed on their site for $3k, the only vehicle I was really interested in... Before we even got close to a parking space, we had a salesm Trailblazer listed on their site for $3k, the only vehicle I was really interested in... Before we even got close to a parking space, we had a salesman waving us into one, who proceeded to usher us inside and went to get the internet sales woman I'd talked to on the phone earlier about that vehicle... I had to take my son to the bathroom, and while I was in there, my girlfriend told me that woman had told our salesman that the vehicle we were interested in was sold that morning (a fact she neglected to mention when I called her about it in the afternoon)... This didn't phase him... Without letting me know this, he walks me out to a 2007 model and starts praising it, and when I ask if this is the one from the internet (before he mentioned the year), he said no that one sold this morning, but this is an '07 and I can cut you a "smokin deal" on it... I told him I was only interested in that one because it was an SUV and it was cheap with low mileage on it... So he starts showing me some other SUV's, all in the 16k price range, my girlfriend tells him he must have missed (ignored) the point that we were looking for something cheap... So he takes us to their base model Spectra, no A/C, no power anything, priced at a reasonable $7900... but he can cut me a smokin deal on it... I say no dice, he takes me to another car that's "more in my price range" but is sold, and we finally decide to just leave... He says wait, let me call one of our other locations and see if they have anything more in line with what you're looking for... We tell him they're on our way home and we can just stop by them on our own... He says "wait let me just make one phone call real quick!" and runs inside... By the time we walk around to the front of the place where we're parked, he's out there waiting for us with his "floor manager" (who knows how many of these guys they have in addition to their army of salesmen)... He talks me into looking at 1 more car in the very back corner of the lot, so I walk out, it's a 2001 Galant w/ 70k miles on it... By the time I'm making my way back to the front, the floor manager meets me and says he was able to "work the price down" to about $4200 plus tax... I say that might work, intending to leave anyway, and they go to move the car up to the front so I can test drive it... I head for the car, but stop in to tell the internet sales lady I don't know where those 2 guys disappeared to but I'm gonna go look around at other places, tell them I said bye... Her response: Oh, well I'm sure he'd like to say goodbye to you himself... of course he would... I wait for about 30 seconds, then just walk to the car and get in... Before we can back out 2 feet, another "floor manager" comes running out of the building waving his arms for us to stop, and stands by my window... When I roll down the window he tries more strongarm tactics, asking what I'm looking for, what price range, what kinds of payments I'm looking to make, they're sure they can find something I like, and I finally tell him we're just gonna go look at other places... He says well I'm telling you right now we can beat any deal out there... So I tell him well then let me go out and get some deals for you to beat... Finally they let us go, but xxxx, those salespeople are like a bunch of frickin vultures... Oh, and by the way, the 2001 Galant that they "worked down" to $4200 for me? I found it listed on Austin's Craigslist a little while ago, listed as of a week prior to my visit, at $3995... What a bunch of humanitarians, working the price down to more than that for me... More
I purchased a used VW Beetle from Capitol Kia on 4/14/07. I started having problems with the car three days later. When I called the dealership they gave me the biggest run around. We finally got them to I started having problems with the car three days later. When I called the dealership they gave me the biggest run around. We finally got them to take a look at it because they sold me the car with expired inspection and they could not inspect because the check engine light was on. After they "fixed" the car I was still having problems. I called Capitol Kia and the VW dealership they had used. After talking to the VW dealership and having them fax the service report to us we discovered that Capitol Kia had bought this car back from the owner before me. They sold me a car that they had already bought back and never mentioned a word to me. This car had a problem so dangerous that VW told them it could not be fixed and what did they do but put it back on the lot and sold it to me. After threatening them with a deceptive trade lawsuit, they decided to buy the car back from me. I'm sure this car will be back on the lot to resale soon. More
