My motor blew after 88k miles. Even tho my car is know to have engine failure…and also brought my car in for regular oil changes and repair. I called and made an apt to have a recall and oil change done. Arrived 15 mins early for my 2pm apt, only to be told they wouldnt be able to do the recall. I made another apt but told them i had all evening if they could try and get it done. Didnt call me when my car was done and locked my car in building. They said they called but i had no missed calls or voicemails. It was a hassle to get ahold of anyone to try and get my car back that evening. I live in novi and have had bad experiences with the kia dealerships in my area, hense why i drove all the way to lansing with an apt. and i needed my car to get home. They knew this and Didnt follow up. and i got major attitude from sales manager who took my after hours call. I paid over the phone and he said he would wait for me. Upon arrival, They did not come out and give me my paperwork or keys. I went to my car to see if it was unlocked and when it wasnt, i turned around and they were watching me from the showroom. I walked into the showroom and When i asked about my recall paperwork, he waved my service paperwork in my face. I corrected him and he told me “i cant access that”. I apologized to the receptionist for getting upset and irate with her as it was not her fault. Called saturday to get my paperwork mailed to me but didnt receive any calls back if they located my paperwork. Called monday and they found it and mailed it out. Still no phone call. Keith in service was very nice and listened to my troubles, and is the one who located and mailed my paperwork. Im upset i was not offered any incentives for the trouble. I may return to kia of lansing for a second chance but i am not hopeful that i will have a good experience. More
The service department has always tried to assist me even when they are understaffed. The feeling at Kia of Lansing is the feeling of small town America. The experience of the customer outways the cold feeling of large dealers.
