I was searching for a new car from Kia website and was reached out by a salesperson name Jim Hutton he told me the car I was looking for Kia EV6 white color is too popular and told me to come in that day reached out by a salesperson name Jim Hutton he told me the car I was looking for Kia EV6 white color is too popular and told me to come in that day 9/6/22 at 7 pm to negotiate the deal and reserve the car in transit by making $2,500. Because of the price of the car and mark up, buying options he told me was way more than I expected I asked him if this is refundable if I change my mind to get other car and he said 'Amen' so I wrote them a check and left after 8 pm. This check was cleared from my bank on the following day 9/7/22 but after a few days, I realized the price was way too higher than other places and decided to get another car and sent him a text on Sunday evening 9/11/22 that I changed my mind and decided not to get EV6 and want to refund of $2500 and he said Financial department is working and he said he'll request my refund on Monday 9/12/22 so I checked with him on Monday afternoon to pick up the check and he texted me that he turned in all paperwork and this will process the refund after 10 business days because it was a check. so I text him back that he never mentioned that it would take 10 days to refund my check then he text me back saying it is a company policy and he has no control. If it would have been a credit card they refund it immediately. I text him on the first day that how do I pay $2500 to reserve the car, and he texted me that check, cash, and credit card. There's no explanation of company policy or different procedure of refund if I pay with a check or credit card. I didn't even get a receipt that I paid $2500 to reserve a car and this company policy of taking 10 days if I paid with a check was never informed. If I heard about this company policy from this salesperson from the beginning then I either did not deposit at all or used my credit card. They cleared my check right the next day and it take 10 days to refund my check is not fair and not acceptable without being informed in a head. More
