I took my car in for a voluntary (free) recall. Everything was handled smoothly and I had my car returned to me within an hour. Within 10 minutes of leaving the dealership, I noticed my car makin Everything was handled smoothly and I had my car returned to me within an hour. Within 10 minutes of leaving the dealership, I noticed my car making noises that it had never made before. I immediately called the service office and spoke to the service rep that handled my case. I (a woman) was immediately spoken to as though I was a child, and was told that I was "welcome to bring my car back" but that they "only touched the software" so he couldn't really "connect the dots" as to how this could be their fault. He then said if it was their fault it'd obviously be free but if not then I would pay. He even went so far as to likening the situation to changing wipers and "suddenly having brake issues". When I asked how often these unrelated issues occur within minutes of service, he said "all the time - that's how things work" While I absolutely agree (and verbally agreed at the time, too) that these issues could be unrelated, the immediate dismissal and relinquishing of responsibility made me uneasy. He made it very clear that he did not think he was responsible for the issue, so how do I know that he's giving it a fair look if I bring my car back? When I explained my concerns and requested that he not dismiss the possibility outright, he hung up on me. If you can, go elsewhere. They're unprofessional, untrustworthy, and dismissive of the customer. More
