Let's skip through all the boring stuff and get to the point of this interaction with Kia of Cerritos. I'm looking to buy a Kia Forte GT. I was in communication with one of their internet salesperson, whi point of this interaction with Kia of Cerritos. I'm looking to buy a Kia Forte GT. I was in communication with one of their internet salesperson, which I will not mention any names. First of I told him I am not in a rush to purchase a car until August since the car is a graduation gift for my daughter, but if the numbers are right we will purchase it. After running my credit, they quoted me an APR of 11.5%. I asked him how much would it be monthly with 4k down for 72months. He said it will be around 560 a month. I told him no thank you, and I will not be paying 560 a month at an APR of 11.5% He continually contacting me asking me when I will be able to come in. I told him I'm not coming in with that interest rate. A couple of weeks later he is still contacting me when I am able to come in to the dealership. I told him I am not going to pay 11.5% APR with a dealer markup of $2,000 where other dealerships are selling at MSRP. A few days later he contacts me again and stated that his manager is able to waive the $2k markup and sell it at MSRP. I told him I will let my wife know. After communicating with my wife and running her credit the APR that was offered was still not good enough for us and told him no we are not going to pay that high of an APR. Again, he continues to call and asks when we are coming in. Again I told him the interest is still to high for our liking. Though we know how much of a demand this particular car is. Our last option is running my son's credit and finally the APR was something that my wife and I both agree we can live with. My wife was in communication with this sales person and agreed on the pricing and had an appointment to come in and sign the paper work and put a down payment. 30mins before our appointment, (as we are getting the whole family ready to head to the dealership) the salesperson texted my wife and stated the car has been sold to someone that was on the lot. (Keep in mind, we submitted everything over to the dealership already!) I called and asked why did they sell the car when we had an appointment and is about to go to the dealership. They said it is a first come first serve basis and under California Law they can't hold the car. Are you serious?!? What is the point of scheduling an appointment, submit everything in about to go to have the car sold to someone else!? Their excuse was that their manager didn't want to hold it for me is because I missed the past 3 appointments that the salesperson was pushing me to come in at an interest rate that I was not happy about. I've bought cars from other dealerships and never came across a dealership like Kia of Cerritos. They harass you to come in to the dealership even though your not happy with the numbers that was quoted. Why wouldn't I be serious on purchasing a vehicle when I ran 3 of my family's credit if I wasn't serious!?! In closing, I recommend to go to another dealership if you want to buy a KIA. If this is how they take care of future, potential and existing customers I do not want anything to do with this dealership. DO NOT PAY THE DEALERSHIP MARKUP! They will literally sell a car to someone on the lot and doesn't care about someone who has an appointment and agreed verbally that the car is yours. Imagine if you are traveling fair and is heading to the dealership and they text you the car is sold. I strongly suggest to do your research when buying a car from here. They have 3 stars for a reason! The only reason why we chose Kia of Cerritos because it was very close to our home. I rather travel hours to a different dealership than give my business to Kia of Cerritos. Please read all of the reviews for this dealership before you go! THEY HAVE 3 STARS for a reason and it was my mistake not doing my research before communicating with them! More
