I used to live in Los Angeles and recently moved to Florida. Three months, I leased my car from Los Angeles, and when I was talking with the salesman, he mentioned that the lease agreement was for thre Florida. He also told me I didn’t need to pay anything for car registration and plates. I checked everything several times on the phone with the salesman, and he confirmed every time. He even said all the paperwork for registration was done and ready. However, after the shipment, when I went to register the car and get the plates, I noticed the paperwork was not completed. Unfortunately, the salesman didn’t answer my calls the whole day. Finally, I had to contact the General Manager, who checked and told me that the paperwork was not done yet. The GM completed and sent me the paperwork overnight. Because my car didn’t have plates, I couldn’t get parking authorization at my apartment and had to park on the street, which resulted in a ticket due to the lack of plates. When I got the registration, I noticed I had to pay for it myself. When I called the salesman, he told me the dealer wouldn’t cover the registration, which was against his previous statement. Unfortunately, my car has had a transmission problem since the first day. When I went to a dealer in Miami, I was told my car needed to stay at the dealer for them to find and solve the problem with the transmission. I initially gave a 3-star review for my experience in the dealer survey, and the salesman immediately called me, insisting that I change it to five stars because his bonus and income would be affected. He told me that the financing office would send me a check for the registration fee that never happened. I kindly changed it to a five-star review. However, I recently realized that the salesman had sent me a contract for 7,500 miles per year, not 10,000 miles per year. On the signing day, around 8 PM, he rushed me to sign the contract, saying that if I didn’t sign that day, he would have to run my credit again. I didn’t check the annual mileage and only looked at the payment. Even though I had checked several times during phone conversations about the mileage, he sent me a contract with lower mileage. Now, I have to drive my car only three days a week or pay for excess mileage at the end of the lease agreement. I believe it’s my responsibility to share my experience to prevent the same thing from happening to others. More

Problems began immediately, encompassing everything from misleading sales tactics to serious issues with the extended warranty and financing terms. Major Issues Encountered: Deceptive Sales Tactics and Documentation Delays: The terms agreed with Sales Executive Daniel Robson were unilaterally altered by Finance Manager Roddy Masihi, adding unauthorized charges and a costly, substandard extended warranty. I was coerced into signing incomplete documents, promised to be finalized the following day—a promise broken, as it took over two months to receive the completed documents, obscuring the financial details of my contract. Unauthorized Charges and Financial Manipulation: An unauthorized extra charge of $15,143 over the agreed price surfaced only after I received the sales documents belatedly. Additionally, the finance terms were altered without my consent, exacerbating my financial strain. Extended Warranty and Service Issues: I was pressured into purchasing an overpriced in-house extended warranty, inferior to a Mercedes Benz Sprinter-designed warranty that I initially requested. When my vehicle required urgent repairs under this warranty on March 31, the dealership’s response was lacking, resulting in significant downtime and leaving my vehicle inoperable at a Mercedes Benz repair facility. Finance Director Vincetta Mendola, the highest-ranking officer I spoke with, personally offered a refund for this warranty, which I declined, insisting instead that they honor the warranty claims. Accident Due to Neglect: A lack of timely warranty service and poor communication from the dealership on February 19 led to a road accident on February 21, underlining the severe consequences of their negligence. Chronic Unresponsiveness and Poor Customer Service: My attempts to address these issues over the past year met with silence or non-committal responses from the finance manager and other senior management. Legal and Ethical Concerns: Keyes European's practices suggest violations of the Federal Truth in Lending Act and California consumer protection laws, which mandate clear financial disclosure and fair treatment—standards they have consistently failed to meet.
