I am shocked at how many perfect reviews this dealership has received on this website. What dealership were these reviewers going to? Certainly not the same one I went to. The one I went to offers the poore has received on this website. What dealership were these reviewers going to? Certainly not the same one I went to. The one I went to offers the poorest level of customer service I have ever experienced, from the first time I walked in the door to when I finally received my deposit back. On day one, the sales person told me I was getting a great deal because the price we negotiated was out the door, including taxes, dealer fees and everything. I found out later this was not true. Not to mention, I was at this dealership for about 5 to 6 hours negotiating on this price, so it was a little disheartening to find out I was lied to. The car needed new back tires, and had a large nasty scratch on the driver side mirror that I was told the detailers would get out. Then, the day I went to pick up my car, I found it was not ready. No new tires, scratch still there. In fact it was parked in the same spot it had been for a few days. It would have been nice if they called and told me that, but they did not. I had to come in to the dealership and discover for myself it was not ready. I was told it would be ready the next day.So, the next day came and this time the sales person called me. He told me the window needed to be repaired, they tried greasing it, but then the grease got on the window and they had to wait a couple days for it to dry. I found out later this ofcourse was not true either. The window needed a part. Not really a huge deal, just annoying that I was given so much misinformation. I had waited nearly a week for my car to be ready. The day it was ready (a Friday) I had to work very late to meet a deadline and told the dealership I would not be able to pick it up that night. I drove to the dealership after hours to check on my car. I inspected it with my wife and was shocked to see a thick layer of sand on the back tires indicating to me that they were not new. Also, the driver side mirror still had a nasty scratch. At this point I was done with the dealership. The next day, I went to Wile Hyundai in Columbia. I called on the car in the morning, and when I went to meet the sales person 30 minutes later, he had taken my car through the car wash for me and filled it up with gas. Wile was very curtious, and within 2 hours I was driving away perfectly satisfied with my new preowned car. I called Key Hyundai to tell them I had bought a car somehwere else and wanted my deposit credited back on my account by the end of the day. Monday rolls around, no deposit refund. Tuesday, nothing. Wednesday, my wife finally called every half hour until the business manager finally called her back and indicated the check would be sent from the Milford office and we could pick it up late Friday afternoon. Friday came, no check. After repeated calls, I finally talked to the business manager a week later. She said the Milford dealership won't cut a check, and told her she had to credit my account back. Finally after 2 more days, I saw the credit come through. In the end, this dealership needs to work more on its customer service. They seem to be a very busy dealership, with lots of miscommunication. They also need to train their sales people better, as my sales person said he only worked at Key Hyundai for 2 weeks. They also seem to have a problem getting cars ready when they are supposed to be ready, as evidence by my personal experience and other reviews. I am also shocked at how many perfect reviews there are on this site and makes me wonder about their validity. A dealer for the people they are not. In today's day of dealerships going out of business, you would think Key Hyundai would learn its lesson and live up to their promises and their advertising hype. More
I went to Key Hyundai the first week in May to look at a 2011 Elantra. My mother has purchased 3 vehicles from them, so I decided to visit based on her reccomendation. I have had credit issues due to th 2011 Elantra. My mother has purchased 3 vehicles from them, so I decided to visit based on her reccomendation. I have had credit issues due to the loss of a family business, so I was not only interested in purchasing the car because I drive so much for work, but also to re-build my credit. I know Key advertises its ability to help people with credit issues. Jonathan helped me the day of my first visit, and offered me $1500 for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee (less than KBB). After running my credit app, he said they could get me financed with just that down, without a problem. I then put down $100 for an Elantra that was due in just 3 days later (they had non available for sale.) The due date of the car came and went, and in that time the staff was very unresponsive in calling or emailing me back, or returning emails to let me know when the car would arrive. I went to Gary Rome Hyundai in Holyoke in the meantime and was offered $2000 for my trade and another $300 off the vehicle. The vehicle finally arrived 3 weeks later, and I emailed Jill Merriam to inquire about price matching and ensure I could get my deposit back because I didn't want to do business with them after the bad service. Her assistant Pam got right back to me and was very very nice. She said she'd look into everything, and get back to me the next day. Pam called the next morning to tell me that to get me financed I would need a co-signer. I was not interested in that, especially since another dealer was able to finance me without one. I wouldn't have let them tie up $100 of mine if I knew that a) the car would take much longer than expected and b) they COULDN'T finance me. They should have been straightforward and explained things from the start. The customer service, except for Pam, was really poor. I felt as it my bad credit was an inconvenience to them, and that they were more concerned with closing other deals and serving other customers. It's too bad, because my mother was planning on purchasing a new Sonata Hybrid as well. I was really dissapointed in the dealership. They shouldn't advertise "Stacking Em Deep and Selling them Cheap" on radio ads when they have nothing in stock, don't discount, and give bad trade in values. They also shouldn't advertise being a "Dealer for the People" when they have poor customer service. And if you can only finance bad credit with co-signers, you might want to mention that before others waste their time too. I did purchase an Elantra, and was able to get reasonable financing without a cosigner from Gary Rome. They valued my business from the start. More
The day that we visited the dealership it was extremely busy. We browsed the lot and didn't really see anything that interested us. The manager of the facility (Tom)suggested we take a look at the vehicle busy. We browsed the lot and didn't really see anything that interested us. The manager of the facility (Tom)suggested we take a look at the vehicle that the owner had just given back to the dealership to put back on the lot. We were pleasantly surprised and after some negotiating with Tom, our salesperson, Johnathon made a sale. We weren't expecting to make a purchase that day, but the numbers worked. We arrived on a Monday to pick up our new vehicle, it was raining, but she stilled looked great.Johnathon was waiting for us and gave us a review of the features and answered our questions. He told us if we had any questions or concerns to contact him directly. Elizabe in the business office was very courteous and explained everything that was being signed. We look forward to enjoying our new car. Regards Michael Kennedy Erika Van Amringe More
On Februaury 16, 2011, my husband and I purchased a 2011 Indigo Blue Manual Transmission Hyundai Elantra from Key Hyundai in Manchester, CT. Before we purchased the vehicle we asked that it be delivered by Indigo Blue Manual Transmission Hyundai Elantra from Key Hyundai in Manchester, CT. Before we purchased the vehicle we asked that it be delivered by April 1st. They assured us it would only be a week or two until delivery. On February 18, we put down a $1000 deposit. By April 16, 2011, we still did not have our car. They agreed to rent us a vehicle until ours came in. We went down to the dealership seven times and called several more times inquiring about the status. They never returned any phone call or could give us an answer when spoken to in person. They agreed to give us an iPod for our trouble. On May 14, we spoke to Pam, the owner's assistant who informed us that they would not be renewing our rental car for an additional month, unless we agreed to pay for half of it. On May 16, Pam told us that we could not purchase a 2011 Elantra at all because they were no longer making that year model, but could purchase the 2012 model for $1800 more. We asked that they absorb the difference in cost between the two year models and they declined our request. On May 17, we went to another Hyundai dealership and purchased the 2011 Hyundai Elantra that we had wanted from Key Hyundai. They staff treated us well and we are very happy. On May 19, we returned the rental to Enterprise as agreed. Our paperwork from Enterprise stated that Key Hyundai would be responsible for the rental fees incurred for the month. When we closed the contract with Enterprise, our personal responsibility was listed as $0. After we returned the rental vehicle, we went back to Key Hyundai and met in person with Pam. She agreed to order us the iPod as promised and even offered to personally go to the store and purchase one for us. She also agreed to return the $1000 deposit that they have had for over three months. Today, May 20, she called me and informed me that due to the charge of $1050 incurred for the month of rental car, she was applying our vehicle purchase deposit towards that charge therefore not refunding our deposit. I have the receipts from Enterprise stating that Key was renting the vehicle on our behalf. This is obvious theft of our $1000 and breech of contract for both the vehicle purchase and iPod agreement. We have been unable to accrue any bank interest on this $1000 for the last three months. It also kept us from accessing these monies. we Will never return to that dearlership and caution anyone else who is considering a car purchase from them. We were thrilled that Lia Hyundai of Hartford saved the day and sold us an Elantra with no hassles or trouble. More
I had a very bad experience the minute in walked in the door. I had an appointment at the Manchester location (which is really in Vernon???) that no one knew about. The office was filthy. The salespeopl door. I had an appointment at the Manchester location (which is really in Vernon???) that no one knew about. The office was filthy. The salespeople were acting and joking around like three year olds (could have been cleaning instead). The cars advertised on the website that I came to see were not there. I was upset about this so Tom, the sales guy, acted like he was giving me a good deal on a new Elantra. One of the things he offered was a few hundred dollars under what another dealership offered me. Come to find out it was one of the cheapest Elantras on the lot. I found this out later when I looked up the vin number online. Another thing I was offered was delivery to my home, which was awful. When they finally came with the car, after they called me three times to tell me someone was on their way, the loan paperwork comes back with the wrong finacing info. The car sat in my driveway for two days with dealer plates since they would not return the calls to my insurance company to register it. They came back again without a second key to the vehicle. I have emailed and called the dealership, no one returns my calls or emails. All I want is to put this awful car buying experience behind me and have a second key for my vehicle. I have had it for almost three weeks now with one key. If you don't want to get lied to, mislead and generally ignored, don't get your car here. There are better dealerships and I wish I would have gone somewhere else. Luckily, my neighbor loves my car and I told him the experience I had at Key so he won't go there to buy his new car. There is so much more involved in in my bad experience at this dealership I could almost write a book but this is a condensed version of the poor customer service I am still in the process of receiving. Upon going to the dealership in Manchester, my wife and I were looking for a newer vehicle with more room. With a baby on the way we wanted to have a safe but spacious vehicle. We were looking at used cars. were looking for a newer vehicle with more room. With a baby on the way we wanted to have a safe but spacious vehicle. We were looking at used cars. But Joseph Vazquez and Tom were able to put us in a brnd new Elantra Touring for a great price. We could not pass up the deal. The price wasn't the only deal maker. The customer service at that facility was unbelievable. We were treated with great respect and not hastled into making a decision right then and there. They explained our options and allowed us to make a decision without rushing us or giving us any ultimatims. I wish more dealerships were this friendly. I would, without a doubt, suggest this dealership to anyone interested in looking for a new or used vehicle. More

I heard their radio add about giving good trade in prices and I had a high milage vehicle to trade in. From the time I walked in the door I was greated kindly and treated well. A short while later they owned and I had a high milage vehicle to trade in. From the time I walked in the door I was greated kindly and treated well. A short while later they owned my old car and I was driving home a shiny new Sonata SE. I just wish I heard about Key Hyundai sooner. More
I had just had a terrible experience with another car dealership only a few weeks prior to coming to Key Hyundai. I told them of my experience and they bent over backwards to get me a car and a loan to dealership only a few weeks prior to coming to Key Hyundai. I told them of my experience and they bent over backwards to get me a car and a loan to fit our tight budget. I also have poor credit but it didn't matter. They were all so nice and sincere. Even though we had no money for a downpayment either, they still got us approved for a beautiful car. Everyone should make them their car store. More
