I have bought 6 used vehicles here and brought sevceral of my friends to purchase vehicles as well. The only problem I have ever had was a dead battery after 6 months. Every vehicle has been perfect at del of my friends to purchase vehicles as well. The only problem I have ever had was a dead battery after 6 months. Every vehicle has been perfect at delivery. All of my friends have become repeat customers as well. I will be looking for a new vehicle and will make the folks at Port City my first and only stop. I have spoken with Frank on several occasions and he has been a complete gentleman. I am not a kid and was used to being abused when I buy a new car. These guys are the exception. More
I have bought many cars and trucks over the years and this was by far the best experience that I have ever had. The salesman I delt with (Mark) was very proffesional and even helped me save some money on this was by far the best experience that I have ever had. I also delt with a salesmanager (Carl) who was very nice and got me a great deal on my new truck. I would recomend these guys to everyone. More
I dropped off my pickup to Port City for some maintenance. After three days, NO ONE had called me to tell me what was wrong or how much it would cost. Then, when I called to find out, they told m maintenance. After three days, NO ONE had called me to tell me what was wrong or how much it would cost. Then, when I called to find out, they told me I was wrong and they had called me and left a message. At first, I gave them the benefit of the doubt... until... I went to pick up the truck and my battery was dead and the coolant system was completely empty. Their answer? ... "we called you and told you there were things wrong with your coolant and battery, but YOU declined the service". Again... that NEVER happened. Bottom line: They claim adequate communication in order to cover their own ass but refuse to actually take responsibility for dropping the ball. They have POOR customer service and completely disregard the maintenance customers. I will NEVER return to this dealership for any reason. Adam? More
Port City Chrysler Dodge sold us a "lemon" of a ca! My Port City Chrysler Dodge sold us a "lemon" of a ca! My fiance's car broke down unexpectedly, so we went to the place I got my car two years ago. We f Port City Chrysler Dodge sold us a "lemon" of a ca! My fiance's car broke down unexpectedly, so we went to the place I got my car two years ago. We found exactly the type of car he wanted and were told it was "ready to go" with a new inspection sticker and a fresh oil change. We bought the car together. The next day the check engine light came on. A trip to the mechanic showed the following from a simple inspection: -o2 sensor, the code which was pulled is "p2272 bank 2 stuck lean" (needs to be replaced) -The battery failed the load test (nearly dead and needs to be replaced) -Coolant tubes to oil filter will need replacement soon, coolant system lost pressure -Front rotors show old rust pits/rust (need to be replaced soon) -Rear rotors look rusty -Brake pads don't appear to have any grease on them or the slides -Serpentine belt is cracked (this is a "gray area" inspection fail, depending on the mechanic, and needs to be replaced) -Power steering fluid is low and brown (and possibly leaking) -T case fluid is low and dark -Rear dif fluid is dark -Transmission fluid is brown/smells (needs a flush or transmission may be ruined) -Flex pipe is coming apart, black trail from exhaust showing (possible exhaust leak, which is an inspection fail item) -Oil filter needs to be replaced soon (apparently that wasn't done with the oil change) In addition to these the left front brakes are wearing unevenly which means the calipers may be going. The mechanic estimated it would cost us $1,500 to $2,000 to do the repairs to the vehicle, and we just bought it! None of these problems were disclosed to us before the sale. My has spoken with the dealer, Doug Newton, and the service department several times since the sale. The Sales Manager, John Thompson was extremely rude and told Jay they would only fix the o2 censor and "top off the fluids". The only option he would give us is to either pay them $1,000 to fix everything else or trade the car in for a more expensive car! When my fiance repeatedly asked why these problems were not disclosed to him the Sales Manager would not answer the question. We have sent an email to the owner of the dealership, Frank Bryant, and failing any remedy we will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and looking at small claims as an option. This is completely unacceptable and we don't want the vehicle anymore and want nothing more to do with this horrid dealership! More
Sold me a lousy car and then kept charging me to fix the same thing over and over. I bought an 07 Jeep Commander with 32,000 miles on it from these rip-off artists. After about 2 months the thing just wo same thing over and over. I bought an 07 Jeep Commander with 32,000 miles on it from these rip-off artists. After about 2 months the thing just wouldn't start. Battery was fine, it just refused to turn over. When towed to the dealership they couldn't recreate the problem and gave it back to me. About a month later, the same thing happened. This time I took it to another Jeep dealer who serviced it. (they did it under warranty even though Port City said they couldn't) Then the tires I was told were "fine" and "wouldn't need to be replaced before winter" (this was April) started developing slow leaks. I bought new tires. About 3 weeks later, the tip of on of the air valves came off in my hand. This was part of the Jeep, not the tire. About a month later, the car won't start again. I take to to Port City. They "fix" it, charge me for it, and when I pick it up...the keyless entry no longer works! Frustrated, after dealing with the sales manager who can't understand why I'm hopping mad, I leave with the keyless entry not working. Yes, the offered me a courtesy vehicle, but that's not the point. Now, it's four days later, once again, my car won't start. I wast left stranded at work, and these guys aren't interested in anything but trading my vehicle significantly less than what I paid for it. I've only put 8,000 miles on it. The customer is NEVER right with these guys, and they sell lemons. Stay away! More
My husband and I had been looking for new vehicles and had a lease we wanted to turn in early that didn't fit our life anymore and everyone we dealt with seemed like it was impossible or they tried to put had a lease we wanted to turn in early that didn't fit our life anymore and everyone we dealt with seemed like it was impossible or they tried to put us in vehicles they wanted to put us in. When we went to PortCity it didn't feel like a usual car dealership place. It was warm and welcoming and very friendly and helpful it was a totally new great experience. We got great pricing with lots of added free oil changes and great 0%financing. The guys that helped us made a lasting impression and I hope I can send many people to them to purchase new vehlicles in this pleasant environment!! More
I have purchased Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Jeep products since getting my drivers licence in 1971. My previous Chrysler / Dodge dealership in Manchester, NH got to big and the owners there forgot h products since getting my drivers licence in 1971. My previous Chrysler / Dodge dealership in Manchester, NH got to big and the owners there forgot how to treat their customers like people. After such great anticipation for the return of the all new Dodge Challenger I went on a mission to align myself with a new Dodge dealer. I priced this new vehicle at over a dozen dealerships and started getting very discouraged with the price gouging taking place at almost all of them on this Hot Car. Not so at Port City Dodge of Portsmouth, NH. My experience from quote to Delivery was a very rewarding one. The sales staff jumped through hoops to make sure I was happy and I no way expected the red carpet teatment like I recieved but I feel like a valuable customer again. I like that feeling! I would recommend this dealer to anyone. More
