They sold us an unsafe vehicle that had major problems with the brakes, but on two separate occasions, they pointedly told us that they had taken care of the brakes. Shame on them! More
2016 Durango L. add towing package VS factory towing package "The kart before the horse" For those who have purchased a travel trailer before buying your truck or SUV the towing capacity is key. The towing capa "The kart before the horse" For those who have purchased a travel trailer before buying your truck or SUV the towing capacity is key. The towing capacity of your travel trailer must be compatible with the towing capacity and towing package of your vehicle. In May of 2017, we purchased a 2014 25-foot Cougher travel trailer towing weight 5300/lbs. We found a beautiful 2016 black/metallic Durango Limited with 19 thousand miles on it with custom wheels and excellent tires. It was used as a Fleet car in mint condition. The first question we asked, was what would the tow rating be without a factory installed towing package? The answer, 6200/lbs. The second question was is there an owners manual we could look over? The answer, it comes with a DVD in the vehicle but it did not have one. There were no DVD's or manuals in stock. We said we just bought a travel trailer that needs to pull at least 5400/lbs. This Durango had no factory towing package but supplied the space for it in the back in case we wanted it added. We put our down payment on the Durango Limited and wanted a hitch and wire harnessing installed, a moonroof installed, and the Trististall Coating. When we picked up the Durango Limited it looked perfect. We drove it off the lot to our trailer dealer and they inspected the vehicle. Upon inspection, they asked us where is the electric brake controller you will need one didn't the service dept include it in the package and we said no they didn't mention it. We have them here if you want, so we purchased a "Plug & Play" with an adapter. We installed it, however, there was a small red light that didn't come on. We hitched the trailer and brought it home without any problem, however, the red light was not coming on. Camping World offers a free inspection and the technician plugged the Plug & Play into a testing box and said there was no power going through the wiring. He suggested we bring it back to the dealership so we did. The service technician could not figure it out the issue insisting it was the trailer technician. While we were there again we asked for a DVD or Owners Manual there were none available. At this point in time, we were very discouraged, we researched, talked to other dealerships, went on Durango forum sights and asked what was going on! To our surprise, we were not the only people in the US with this issue. Many customers that bought the Durango Limited that had a travel trailer over 3500/lbs were experiencing the same dead-end issues. The truth of the matter plays out like this. When you purchase a Durango limited without a factory installed towing package the towing capacity is 3500/lbs. When you purchase a Durango Limited factory installed towing package the towing capacity is 6200/lbs WHY! The Factory installed towing package offers three distinct differences, 1) larger radiator engine cooling system, 2) larger transmission cooling system and 3) a heavier suspension system involving struts and springs etc. So how did this happen? We are not pointing any fingers, however, when you look over the owner's manual page number 588 you will mistakenly miss a tiny dot when your cursor runs over the part about Durango's towing 6200/lbs that says "IF PROPERLY EQUIPPED." This means if you have a factory equipped towing package you are indeed getting 6200/lbs. If you have to have it installed by their service technicians your getting 3500/lbs that is why the brake controller installed in our Durango Limited never worked (because it didn't need one!) Bottom Line: We own a 2016 Durango Limited with a towing capacity of 3500/lbs that tried to tow a Cougar travel trailer of 5300/lbs without working brakes endangering ourselves as well as everyone else on the road. We can't use our trailer, we are supposed to leave for Florida as of November 1 with camping reservations and nobody from Port City Chrysler Dodge will deal with us let alone talk to us stating that 1) we bought the trailer after the Durango when we have proof otherwise and, 2) supposedly called an attorney and spoke to them therefore they can't talk to us, only our attorney. Our attorney doesn't even know about this matter and never called the dealership. Even though we spoke to two representatives from the Dodge Company with a Case Number who told us either they acknowledge this unfortunate situation and do what's right by finding us what we need or get us a new black/ metallic Durango Limited with a factory installed towing package. Port City Chrysler Dodge told the Dodge Company who were trying to help us that we spoke to an attorney so now Dodge the Company can't help us... This my friends out there, is a serious case of misrepresentation, it could happen to anybody and it is happening all over the country. First, the Company needs to change the language in the Owners Manual and be more specific about the difference in towing capacities with the Durango's, and second, once this mishap takes place own up to this mistake and help their loyal customers out who just purchased a vehicle from them they cannot use. This is an unfortunate and very serious matter. This situation is not helping them nor is it serving us. For those out there who are reading this please help, we don't want to play upon your sympathy, this is a warning. We have literally exhausted all measures and we really don't know what to do. Place a call to their General Manager and call it Donna & Jeff Case No. 2185. Thanks, be safe and happy trails... More
No customer support post-sale I have bought two vehicles from Port City. The second was a used 2016 Ram 2500. I got it at 10 months old, purchased it for asking and owned it for 90 I have bought two vehicles from Port City. The second was a used 2016 Ram 2500. I got it at 10 months old, purchased it for asking and owned it for 9000 miles and 10 months. I noticed a problem with the paint on the rear of the cab. It started to bubble and peel. Port city service worked with me to submit the claim to ram. both times I was denied, blaming this on environmental reasons. I had it independently checked and I was informed it was either bad paint or contamination under the paint. I went back to port city to try and work something out. My sales rep worked with me and had the general manager take a look. Within 2 minutes the manager became defensive and told me the truck was re-painted and that was the reason for peeling. I tried to work with him to get it fixed and was told they would not help, but to let it just get worse and ram would eventually cover it. I then started to talk trade in and the purchase of a different truck. The general manager was immediately more friendly and started the process. I was given a option to take a 6000 loss to trade in in order to pay asking on a truck on their lot. I have had several good experiences with the sales department, with service and always seemed to get a reasonable deal. This experience where i could get nothing to help me has soured my attitude towards not only Ram but Port City. Unfortunately, I figured being a repeat customer and avid promoter of the dealership they could have done something to help me. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. More

dishonesty at Port City reigns supreme recently bought a $ 51000 dollar truck- while it was being prepped for pick up, thieves broke into the dealer and stoles all four tires. My wife dist recently bought a $ 51000 dollar truck- while it was being prepped for pick up, thieves broke into the dealer and stoles all four tires. My wife distinctly asked the SALES MANAGER " was it broken into ? " His response " Oh No, that was the BEAUTY of it- they just jacked it up and stole the tires" well a month after I had the truck , my son started finding glass in the air conditioning vents. THE THEIVES HAD INDEED SMASHED THE PASSENGER WINDOW AND HAD FOUND THE TIRE LOCK " I was very ANGRY and called PORT CITY and strongly suggested because of their dishonesty I should be given an extended warranty. THEY REFUSED. THEY ARE LIARS AND HAVE NO INTEGRITY. I was accused of LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR NOTHING! stay away from this place go to POULIN OR MARIANO. AND oh yes, PORT CITY cashed my 5k down payment in record time!! right after they spoke to my wife. More

I had been looking for months, and checked from time to time with various dealerships... I was not enticed enough to buy with the deals that were offered to me. I happened to shop Port City on their website, and the prices for minivans were excellent.... of course I expected to be deluged with extra charges once I contacted them. When I called and spoke to a salesperson, I was totally surprised to find out the only extra fee was only a $25 NH State Title fee, and nothing else! Some dealers charge an extra 4-5 hundred dollars for "fees", it is nothing but a trick to advertise lower prices on web searches, then to just recoup the difference with "Administrative fees", and it's nothing but BS. Not only did Port City not charge these fees, they also had the lowest prices listed that I came across in my shopping, so they very much had a very good deal. and BTW, they had plenty of vehicles in stock at those advertised prices. I also praise them for the excellent trade they gave me on my, they were an easy 20% above any other dealer I had dealt with over my 3-4 month. No pressure sales experience, I am certainly happy with my buying experience at Port City Chrysler Dodge. The Business manager I thought was a little too overbearing with trying to sell an extended warranty, I listened to the spiel, but had told him up front I didn't want the warranty... could have saved a lot of time with him if he had just believed I didn't want the extended warranty - but I guess that's what they get paid for (and with) More
Dishonesty is the policy at Port City Chrysler Dodge I brought my Jeep in for a safety inspection. Service said a front strut was leaking and needed replacement. Smelling a scam, I said no thanks. Tried to buy a car but got a run around Called to buy a car and sent a email. Was passed over and over to different people. I said I would just put a deposit and buy it I sent pictures to Called to buy a car and sent a email. Was passed over and over to different people. I said I would just put a deposit and buy it I sent pictures to see what they would give trade in. If not enough I would of sold car on my own. I was trying to work the purchase and then they said someone came in and bought the car. Then all of a sudden the car was sold. I had a sales person call after I called and told Mr. Brady what had happened. Person that called me was argumentative and forceful with me. He was very overbearing and confrontational. Very unprofessional. I spoke with My Brady and received and "I am sorry". I was not even haggling the price and was willing and wanting to pay the total amount they were asking. I would of traded a car in below wholesale or not traded it in. I was willing just to be a lay down sale and I feel as though they just were trying to back out of listed posted price of a car. Shame, Shame They should be better people. More
