The sales rep took me to a residential neighborhood for my test drives both times and I didn't realize it at the time but it seems very coincidental now. The transmission began failing shortly after I purchased this truck with it slipping as it went into higher gears, hence the neighborhood drive so I never got it above 3rd gear. There appeared to be other attempts made by this dealership to conceal the problems with this truck from me. New tires to increase road noise so one couldn't hear the engine at speed and an additive to the oil to quiet the engine some. Very shady dealings indeed. I was told by the manager just recently after I complained about the on going issues that "I should have my lawyer contact theirs". I will be filing a complaint with the B.B.B and would suggest that anyone looking for a new or used vehicle to shop elsewhere. I got really screwed and this lemon of a vehicle supposedly passed the Kevin Whitaker inspection process which either tells me they are dishonest or incompetent. Either way save yourself from a similar experience. DON'T BUY A LEMON FROM Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet Cadillac 2320 Laurens Rd Greenville, SC 29607 More

I visited the dealer ship as part of my search to choose a new compact pickup. I have been a loyal General Motors fan and customer for 17 years. I was already leaning towards the Colorado or Canyon so thi a new compact pickup. I have been a loyal General Motors fan and customer for 17 years. I was already leaning towards the Colorado or Canyon so this could have been an easy sell for the dealership. I am a two time combat veteran in the US Army, so I qualify for GM's significant discount that is offered at the highest level of GM down. I also qualify for special incentives from GM for being a USAA member, which according to GM, one does not cacel the other, both apply. These also do not interfere with any standard incetives or rebates such as owner loyalty, or model specific incentives. When I fist started talking to the sales rep he had a horrible attitue. Kept trying his best to steer me away from new and into used. I was very specific about what I wanted as I am the type to reseach and know about what I am looking for long before involving a sales person. This guy turned out to be the biggest jerk I have worked with. He kept making comments that were completely inappropriate. One of these were, "I have been selling cars for 30 years, I think I know more about what I am talking about that you do!", another was "GM doesn't offer any military discount". If that is the case then what the xxxx is up with www.gmmilitarydiscount.com. He refused to listen to what I was looking for, when I told him I had found multiple offers below what he offered, significantly below the price he wouldn't budge on, he called me a liar and told me that wasn't possible, no one could sell a truck at that price. I once again referred him to the GM military discount program. Overall it was a horrible experience. I will not be purchasing a vehicle at this dealership so long as this guy has a job there. I understand that different dealers can give different prices due to things going on behind the scenes, my problem isn't they couldn't get the price right, it is that this guy treated me like an infant and tried to bully me into buying what I don't need or want.
