I own a 2021 Toyota Tacoma which I purchased new from Kendall Toyota in Anchorage. Immediately after purchasing my truck I put winter tires on as they are an absolute must for driving in Fairbanks. In December 2022 after owning my truck for 12 months and 17,500 miles my Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) malfunctioned and stopped working. Kendall Toyota of Fairbanks claimed that having “aftermarket tires” totally voids the warranty for my TPMS as they “could not prove it was not the technician who installed the tires that caused the damage” despite the sensor having no physical damage and tried to charge me $340 for one tire pressure sensor. These tires have been on my vehicle for months with no issues, the TPMS just randomly stopped working one morning, but Kendall Toyota didn’t seem interested in this. This is also a blatant violation of law (Magnuson Moss Act (15 U.S.C. 2302)) and just downright terrible customer service in a city in Alaska that is below zero half of the year where literally everyone has winter tires. I’ll take my chances elsewhere and next time will probably drive to Anchorage rather than down the street for service. More

The battery light on my Subaru Impreza came on the other day. When I called Kendall they said to bring in the car and they would run a diagnostic check on it. I was able to get my car to the Subaru service day. When I called Kendall they said to bring in the car and they would run a diagnostic check on it. I was able to get my car to the Subaru service department. Once in the bay the car died. David Bolt told me he would keep me posted on what had happened to my car. He called me later in the day and explained to me that my alternator and alternator belt needed replacing. He explains to me how much it would cost, and let me know how quickly they could get the part. They actually got the part and my car fixed quicker then expected. When I went to pick up the car David again explained to me the cost and what they had fixed. More
