I arranged with Gabriel three weeks in advance to have my water pump replace on my 2008 F250 diesel and after two days sitting at the dealer nothing happen and no repairs were made, this has happened to me several times in the last 5 years. This will continue to happen until they hire another diesel mechanic because at this time they only have 1 diesel mechanic for the greater Anchorage area. My only option is to drive to Kenai or Wasilla for further maintenance work. More

We purchased a used 2014 Ford Expedition and were told that we were making a "great" purchase only to find out ONE day later that it started to make a noise from the front end. Not only that, the detail crew scraped the paint off on the dashboard panel and Vern Bonnet said they were not willing to replace it even though they damaged it! I called about the whining noise and the service department scheduled an appointment past the 10 days exchange trial. They didn't fix the noise problem, we later found out that the 4WD in the vehicle does not work properly, the vehicle sounds like it's going to die. We went in again and talked to Ryan Carter about the 4WD issue, he said he "wanted to make us happy" and implied that we could do an exchange because of the issues we were having. We spent 6 hours at the dealership driving around other vehicles of interest, thinking that we could do an exchange because of our horrible experience with the vehicle. Went in the next day and spoke with Ryan again and he implied AGAIN that we could do an exchange. He told us to come in and talk to Vern to finish the exchange, so we did. Vern told us that Ryan stated that he didn't imply about an exchange at all, even though Ryan had a salesman named Don Miller show us different vehicles. Vern lied straight to our faces, we were very upset. Cal Worthington claims they do a 200+ point check on used vehicles, well this isn't true. If you want poor management, poor customer service, and poor communication, you go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal! More

They always make me happy. Recently bought a 2015 F150 Lariat. From Bruce, to Ed of sales. Randy from Sales. Jonn Perry and Ed's brother at their Finance department. What really makes me happy ALL THE TIME is the smile and the excellent service their service department provides. I feel they always know what I want and how to make me happy. Brook, Matt, and Miranda. The drivers know me by heart now especially Nikki. Of course, Chris of the Parts department. His smile makes the place feel very positive. I know it's hard to trust sales people sometime. This place has never failed me yet. I highly recommend it. The rock stars are Matt and Brook. More

Since he has a car issued by his company for work, the second car needed to be practical for our family of four, but didn't need to be a high end luxury ride since we would only be driving it a few times a week. We had gone to nearly every branded and independent dealership in town, but despite Cal's negative reputation around town we decided to give it a go. Upon arriving on the lot we described our wishes, and our price point. The first SUV we were shown was very nice, and DOUBLE our price point. The next one we were shown was still nearly 150% of what we wanted to spend. The sales man told me that our payment was $xxx a month, and that was what he was shooting for. I told him we were looking for a price, not a monthly payment, because we will not be trading this car in in two years, we will be paying it off and driving it for a long time. I then said "it seems very deceptive to not have the prices or mileage on the vehicles". The salesman flippantly replies "that's what I'm here for" then TURNS HIS BACK ON US and walks away. As we return to our car he goes "well how much did you pay for that anyway", which despite being super rude, I told him anyway and added "but we paid cash for it" as a little FU. I would hazard a guess that we have better credit, and more money in savings than 90% of the people that walk into CW Ford. However, just because we can buy something very expensive, doesn't mean we want to. I was completely taken aback by how rudely we were treated. Even my husband, who is normally cool as a cucumber, was angry by the treatment we received. We wouldn't even buy a used Ford at another dealership after this experience because we would have to take it to CW Ford for servicing!! More

Customer Service Nightmare I recently took my Ford in to be repaired. After my last routine oil change (at Midas, because I have had a history of honest and stellar service fro I recently took my Ford in to be repaired. After my last routine oil change (at Midas, because I have had a history of honest and stellar service from them), they informed me that it appeared that I had a coolant leak. My car being only a year old and under 20,000 miles, I still fell under Ford's warranty. I took it in on a Friday morning, and was told to expect the repair to be done that following Monday morning. I called Monday, and was informed I would have to wait another day. Being just shy of 25 years old, I wasn't able to rent a car, so was forced to call several different people trying to acquire a ride to work. I called the next morning (Tuesday), and was told again to wait another day. At this time, I found out that Ford didn't actually need any new parts ordered, and that the issue was more minor than initially thought. I am admittedly car-ignorant, but it seems to me that that type of situation would result in the car being done sooner. In any event, my main gripe with Cal Worthington is simply feeling as though I was lied to. A car repair, while complicated, isn't on the same level of complexity as, say, surgery. I feel as though when you give an objective ETA as to when a car is to be fixed, it should, in most cases, not be so malleable as what I experienced. This is so vexing for me because I was essentially left without transportation for a week. My work schedule is different from most (I work from 2:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. most days), and so finding someone available to drive me to work, to the grocery store, etc. was no easy task. I understand having to wait-good car repairs are worth it in the long run. It is when I am given a time frame which continues to change that I get very frustrated, and frankly, lied to. In addition, the shuttle service was terrifying. The first day, they gave me a ride back home. During that trip, the shuttle driver would check his phone (the highway roads were very icy at the time). He also complained about having to drive me so far. Maybe my experience is sort of a fluke, but I really, really don't want to go back to Cal Worthington. I would recommend to any of my friends to look elsewhere. More
Tried to pull a fast one on me! After looking at a car several times and running the numbers on their website for trade in values I made an appointment to have my trade in looked and After looking at a car several times and running the numbers on their website for trade in values I made an appointment to have my trade in looked and a value determined. The guy looked at the my car and came back with way below the trade in value their web site stated (way below the lowest number in the value range), I negotiated some and we came up with a value $100 less than the lowest trade in value noted on their web site. I accepted this as I did not want to deal with selling it myself and having strangers come to my home. Needless to say after about 2 hours of waiting around and finally getting in to sign papers, the papers noted the previously negotiated trade in value was "contingent on the mechanics evaluation". I saw that and said wait a minute I thought that was all done and we had a value. I got "oh no we have to have the mechanic look at it and we are going to do that right now". After another half hour of waiting the sales manager Ed came back in and noted "There are problems with your car, we can't do that trade in value" . I said what are you talking about, we had a value we agreed upon (100 less than their web site's lowest trade in valuation). He said they can't do that. I said fine we are done then. I walked back to the guy I was signing papers with and asked for all my documents back that had any personal information on them. He said he could only give me what is in the envelope. Well when I got home, my registration was not in the envelope. Now we have to make a special trip there again to get the registration, I will never ever buy anything from them. When I made an appointment and negotiated the trade in value I expected it to be done and move on. I certainly did not expect them to try and pull a fast one on me. BEWARE.... More

As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly. Adam Hulin, Sales Consultant was so willing to show us several different options and test drive as many as we wanted. Very helpful, went above and beyond and great to work with too! Robert worked with us also and was also very helpful, as well Sissy Equevilley in Finance was great to work with as well. They told my hubby and I when we arrived at Worthington that we would leave with a vehicle and we did and we already love it. Always stressful making a big purchase but they each made it pleasant and more enjoyable for us. Thanks again! Words cannot express. - Kenn and Linda Carpenter More
