I bought a truck from here over a year ago and have had nothing but problems since. When we went to pick it up, it had not been cleaned or detailed AT ALL and they did not have it ready for us, so we had t nothing but problems since. When we went to pick it up, it had not been cleaned or detailed AT ALL and they did not have it ready for us, so we had to wait almost 2 hours after driving 6 hours to pick it up. They SPRAY painted over the original paint on the bed to make it look newer and in better shape than it was, so now the spray paint has been peeling off everywhere. The toolbox on the truck doesn't work- like it doesn't open and close or lock. Also, they only gave me one key and insisted that there was no additional key or a key fob... for a 2019!!! After talking to my local dealership, they were supposed to include a second key and key fob with my purchase. I am absolutely disgusted, and would never buy anything from them again. More
Service managers will side step warranty at every corner. Other repair shop highly suggested the shocks and struts that are under warranty and must be replaced. Wasted money on the warranty and still stuck paying with repairs the warranty should have covered. Service manager lied and told me that the rental that was under warranty to be provided while my car was in the shop would not be provided because Enterprise had none available. Called Enterprise and there were plenty available. So much so that they asked if I’d like a Sedan, SUV, or a Minivan. More
This had nothing to do with covid19. This is just the way the dealership does business it's service department that is on August 28th I had my 2008 Chevy suburban end have what they said with an engine repla the dealership does business it's service department that is on August 28th I had my 2008 Chevy suburban end have what they said with an engine replacement. They said it was going to be about 10 days to do the job. got no updates got no how are you this is what we're doing but now it is September the 29th and they say now that they're finished with it. oh yes by the way we had to put new motor mounts in the truck without telling you or asking for authorization. I understand that you need motor mounts but where they old or will they broken. There was money already in the estimate to cover unexpected parts due to age rust and etc. I said they called numerous times to try to get a hold of someone to ask for authorization but nothing registers in the call logs of the cell phone. I spoke to Warren Morrell in the service department. He tried to explain to me that he was doing me a favor for putting those in without asking for any authorization to do so. If this is how Ken Houtzs service policy is I think it's pretty xxxx poor that they don't have to ask the customer to fix things without their authorization to go above a certain amount of dollars. most companies the work stops until you get authorization. so what's my opinion that you need to watch them very closely at every itemized list and everything they do because they might try to slip in something that may or may not needed fixing you just don't know because they already said they like doing it your best interest but I will never get service done there ever again and I will never buy another car from them ever again because of this particular incident thank you. This had nothing to do with covid19. Called by the owner himself and he asked me to change this review and put in a certain thing and I said I would I will say that ken houtz Chevrolet did pay for the motor mounts and labor to put them in because they didn't ask for authorization and this was the correct thing to do. Will they do this to anybody else, I don't know so you have to keep an eye on them. They quoted me one labor rate before the job even started and then after it was completed it was another labor rate so keep an eye on it and get it in writing. thank you because there is a whole lot of she said he said things that go along in there that they will tell you and not do it un less it is in writing. UPDATE: After picking up Suburban after a month. and a $8000 engine Replacement the truck is still having the same PROBLEM. After speaking to Mr. Morrell this morning He said they would look at this AGAIN. This has been one big nightmare dealing with KEN HOUTZ CHEVEROLET. Not because of the prices that Mr. Morrell charges to for the same problems but different people it is because I expected the utmost knowledge and professionalism from a dealership that has been around for 40 YEARS but I still got a suburban doing the same thing after being told that a NEW engine would FIX IT ALL. $8000 Later..IT DID NOT. again if any one reads this save yourself a nightmare and headache and DONT DEAL WITH MR. MORREL OR THIS DEALERSHIP Thanks for reading Update 2: They said it was a cracked spark plug, but I know that this truck will do the same thing again and they left the EGR SENSOR and say it is not part of the engine I spent $8000 and it didn't com with that? Stay AWAY Run fast More

Buying experience I am a 58 year old man and have purchased many vehicles in my life. My wife and I just purchased a vehicle yesterday from Ken's business and it by far I am a 58 year old man and have purchased many vehicles in my life. My wife and I just purchased a vehicle yesterday from Ken's business and it by far was the best car buying experience of my life! Tyler, our salesman was kind, knowledgeable and courteous. There was no pushy sales guy following us around or calling every other day asking if we had made a choice. We went in, spoke to Tyler and he said if we had any questions just catch his attention and he would be glad to help. We spent the next two weeks looking around at other places but it was crazy. My wife now has her new 4 runner she wanted and when I'm in need I'll be back! Tyler your my guy. More

Customer Friendly Dealer I had been looking for a truck for 9 months. I visited quite I few dealerships in my pursuit. RK Chevrolet never called me back. The salesman at Prior I had been looking for a truck for 9 months. I visited quite I few dealerships in my pursuit. RK Chevrolet never called me back. The salesman at Priority was rude. The salesman at Rick Hendrick's Colonial Chevrolet was a nice kid but very overwhelmed. I took a drive up to Lindsay Chevrolet to look at a truck. I left there feeling insulted and pressured to purchase a damaged truck that was overpriced. Angel told me if "I wanted a better price I needed to look at a different truck". Frustrated I looked online to see what other dealerships were within 2 hours of my home in Virginia Beach. I found Ken Houtz Cheverolet and decided to take a drive to look at a truck on the lot. When I got there I was greeted by Ella and Amanda. The truck was out front waiting for me to drive. The truck was nice but it wasn't quite what I wanted. Amanda showed me other vehicles that were on the lot that weren't exactly what I was looking for but there was not pressure to buy something that I didn't want. Finally, Ella said have you ever thought about building a truck to your specifications? They explained every option that was offered for a new 2500HD as we built the truck online. It was nice to think that this truck was going to be built for just me. I put an deposit down and they ordered the truck. After a few months of waiting, it finally arrived. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Ella and Amanda again. Ed Burrows went over all of the paperwork and explained everything in detail. He didn't try to push a maintenance package or gap insurance on me. He was very polite and professional. Mr. Houtz came out and thanked me for choosing to work with them for my new vehicle. We looked over the truck and Amanda went over all the features on the truck again and asked if I had any questions. She told me to call or text her if I had any questions about the truck. After nearly a year of searching, I'm now the proud owner of a 4 door 2500HD Chevrolet truck from Ken Houtz Chevrolet. Thank you for helping to make this happen! More
