My wife and I initially worked with David Anderson, a young man in his first week as a car salesman and a recent transplant from the Detroit area. He asked us which Mazda we were interested in, down to m young man in his first week as a car salesman and a recent transplant from the Detroit area. He asked us which Mazda we were interested in, down to model number, color and accessories, and he went to the lot and found a car that was exactly what we had in mind. David was very personable and very helpful during the test drive of a 2011 CX-9 Touring, although he himself admitted that he was not as knowledgeable about all the details of the car as he himself would like. Since we had done a lot of research prior to the test drive, that was not a problem. We really liked this young man, and we thought he represented Spradley Barr very well. His low-key approach and very friendly nature gave us a good feeling about working with this dealership. We liked the car a great deal, and decided to buy it that day. However, David had to turn over the negotiation to another person at the dealership, and we were not able to reach agreement on the price. Even so, and unlike other similar automobile negotiations over the years, this negotiation was not a particularly unpleasant experience, and we left the dealership still feeling positive about the potential for buying a car from them, if only we could agree on a price. One huge sticking point for me was a $499 dealer fee that was to be added to whatever price I offered. There is even a sign in the dealership identifying the fee as being, among other things, for "additional dealer profit." I've seen that in other dealerships before over the years, and I've always rejected it. I wanted to offer a price that included absolutely nothing additional except tax and licensing/registration, and I would not accept having that $499 added to any price I offered. I see that technique as a way to get an unwary buyer to pay $499 above their best offer, and I was somewhat put off by the attempt to use it with me. Still, it is not an uncommon dealer practice, and the negotiation over it, although unsuccessful, was never hostile, and I left still feeling mostly positive about this dealership. Meanwhile, we made plans to try to find an identically-equipped car from a different dealer, at a price we felt was fair to both us and the dealer. The next day, Kenny Bunch, the Internet Sales Manager, telephoned me, and after a relatively brief negotiation, we arrived at a price that was a little more than I had offered the day before, but was still an excellent deal. I'm sure the $499 was bundled into the price we agreed, but the price was a good one and I don't care how they allocate it, that is their own internal accounting issue. I had researched several web sites to learn what was the average price being paid for an identically equipped car, and the price I paid was a little less than that, so I was satisfied with the final offer Kenny made. Although I had not met Kenny in person yet, I could tell from this phone conversation that he was (like David) very personable and friendly, and this negotiation was professional and business-like, not in the least confrontational as is sometimes the case. When I met Kenny in person the next day, my initial impression was confirmed, and I immediately liked working with him as we finalized the sale. Getting through all the paperwork took much longer than I had expected, especially since we were paying cash (no financing involved) for the car. I was surprised when we had to travel a few miles to the Spradley Barr Ford dealership to finish the paperwork (with Napoleon - I didn't get his last name) while the car was being prepped for delivery, and our 3:00 appointment to buy the car didn't finish until almost 7:00 that evening, with most of the time spent waiting for the prep process to complete. A small part of that time was spent trying to persuade us to buy a long-term warranty and special detailing for the exterior and interior of the car - never a good deal, according to every car-buying advisor I've ever read, but at least it wasn't a hard sell, as it has sometimes been at other dealerships. The paperwork was completed efficiently and accurately, and Napoleon was (like David and Kenny) very friendly throughout. Sometimes this paperwork step is accomplished by a person who clearly would like to be doing almost anything else at that moment, so the friendliness was welcome. When the car was finally ready, and even though it had almost certainly been a long day already for Kenny, he insisted on spending the time to take me through every complex feature of this car. He knew the car extremely well, and even though I thought I also knew it quite well from my research, he showed me a couple of things I had not known about (such as how to temporarily stow a tire that has had to be changed, instead of having to put it back where the spare resides). He also took me through setting up my Bluetooth phone using voice commands that he knew well without having to reference a script. I've bought a few dozen new cars over the years, and Kenny's very thorough new-car delivery run-through was second only to one from a Mercedes dealer. From initial test-drive to final delivery (and overlooking the unexpectedly long time waiting for paperwork and car prep), buying this car from Spradley Barr Mazda, and working initially with David Anderson and spending much more time with Kenny Bunch, was a very pleasant experience, one of the best I have had in several decades of car-buying. I would recommend this dealership and these individuals unhesitatingly to my friends, to my family - and to you. More
My overall experience with Mark as a salesperson and representative was great. I new which vehicle I wanted, based on internet / website research. Met Mark as I was walking in the doors, asked if the de representative was great. I new which vehicle I wanted, based on internet / website research. Met Mark as I was walking in the doors, asked if the dealership participated in x-plan pricing, went for a test drive, got the price and purchased the ford escape that I wanted. The only downside of the experience was the hard sell of add-ons from the sales manager, this includes the extended warranty and paint / leather protector. There was a point during that discussion that I said if Ford makes cars that are in so bad of need of an extended warranty I'll trade mine in after four years and makes sure everyone I know how poor of quality of a product I bought. Being my first time purchasing I car from a dealer, I was somewhat intimidated. Kenny Bunch took the time and listened to me, probably learning way more than he cared to know, and answered all my questions, somewhat intimidated. Kenny Bunch took the time and listened to me, probably learning way more than he cared to know, and answered all my questions, plus gave information that I wasn't aware of needing to know about purchasing a car. Together, we weighed the options and carefully reviewed them. After a few days of communication and consideration, I drove home my first new car and love it! More
I was able to peruse the lot without being attacked by salespeople. I let them know I was just looking and would come and get them if I wanted help, they respected that. On another day I just went in to salespeople. I let them know I was just looking and would come and get them if I wanted help, they respected that. On another day I just went in to drive some vehicles to compare with other crossover SUVs I was looking at, knowing I would not be buying that day, they did not pressure me. I ended up ordering a 2011 Ford Flex to get one exactly the way I wanted it, and overall it was a pleasure working with Spradley Barr Ford in Fort Collins, CO. More

Customer service with sales person Kenny was second to none. He showed my 5 year and I 4 different trucks before I decided on the one that would work, showed my 5 year old respect and even came up with a none. He showed my 5 year and I 4 different trucks before I decided on the one that would work, showed my 5 year old respect and even came up with a game to keep him busy. Price was great on the used truck and on my trade in (after pushing alittle). The 2 year or 100k mile no cost warranty on power train was awesome too. What else can I say go purchase a car/truck from this dealer. More
I contacted the dealership originally through the internet. I got an almost immediate response from Paul Atkinson, even though it was after business hours as I recall. I do not live in Fort Colli internet. I got an almost immediate response from Paul Atkinson, even though it was after business hours as I recall. I do not live in Fort Collins, and was only planning to be in town a few hours. Paul was very accommodating to my time constraint, and made himself available at my convenience with less than 24hr notice. My Daughter and I met with Paul and subsequently purchased a new vehicle. I'm an old guy and have been around the block more than a few times with car salesmen. Everyone I dealt with at Spradley Barr was a straight shooter (or at least as close as car salesmen can get), and a nice respectful person. It was without a doubt the least stressful vehicle buying experience I have ever had. I have always tended to vote with my feet, Spradley Barr will likely get first shot at my next vehicle purchase.
