I am writing this to share a very unfortunate experience that I had at Culver City Honda with Felipe Rubira, Finance Manager, on March 14, 2022. Regrettably, our interaction clouded what should have been an that I had at Culver City Honda with Felipe Rubira, Finance Manager, on March 14, 2022. Regrettably, our interaction clouded what should have been an exciting time and otherwise painless process to buy my Certified 2019 HR-V. After already being at the dealership for more than 2 hours - finalizing the specifics of the deal with my salesperson (and a sales manager), I was moved to the finance department to sign documents and complete the sale. I had already, in length, gone over what I wanted and what I was agreeing to. While I did give him my consent to discuss the different packages, I clearly did not understand what I consented to. About halfway through his pitch, I realized that I’d already said no. When he finished explaining, I politely told him, “Oh, no, I’ve already gone over these with your sales manager. I don’t need this. Thank you.” I even explained my reasoning why I didn’t want the package. What then transpired was 100% NOT OK. At least NINE times, and in no uncertain terms, I told him NO. I also said something to the effect of: “I DON’T NEED THIS.” “I DO NOT WANT THIS.” “PLEASE STOP ASKING ME ABOUT THIS.” “I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER.” “THIS IS NOT OK.” “THIS REALLY SUCKS.” “THIS IS EXACTLY WHY PEOPLE HATE BUYING CARS FROM A DEALERSHIP.” “WHAT PART OF ‘NO, I DON’T WANT THIS,’ DON’T YOU GET?!’” “LOOK MAN -- ALL I WANT TO DO IS GIVE YOU MY DOWN PAYMENT, SIGN MY PAPERS AND LEAVE!!!!!” The level of pure anger and anxiety I felt was unbelievable. I had to text a few friends to calm down, I couldn’t look Mr. Rubira in the face, I was shaking. I wanted to be anywhere but there in that office. (I still had to sit there for another 30 mins before everything was finalized). I will never, ever, ever come back to this dealership for anything sales related. Unfortunately, I have multiple oil changes included in my sales contract that are only redeemable at this specific dealership. Otherwise, I’d never step foot on the property again. I felt unheard, disrespected, and frankly, harassed. More than anything, I felt VIOLATED. I know these are strong words, but it is an accurate description of how I felt leaving the building. Even though Honda is a fantastic product (this is my 5th one), Mr. Rubira felt like a snake oil salesman. Buying a car is already highly stressful. You’re committing to a lot of money over a long period of time. However, someone refusing to take ‘no’ for an answer is completely unacceptable. Furthermore, as Honda is such a customer-focused company, I seriously doubt this is the type of response you’d like to elicit from your most faithful customers. I wish my experience was different. I love my new car. More
AVOID AVOID AVOID! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve had horrible service in my life. But NOTHING compares to what I’ve experienced this week at Culver City Honda. I came i !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve had horrible service in my life. But NOTHING compares to what I’ve experienced this week at Culver City Honda. I came in because my car was having trouble starting. It’s a 2014 Honda Accord with 50k miles. When I came in, I explained my issue to Yonatan Reyes. I mentioned that the car takes 5-7 attempts before starting which Yonatan described as “cranks”. I responded that it just doesn’t start. I then waited SIX hours at their Culver City office. They told me there was an issue with the Throttle Body. They needed to clean the throttle body and fuel injectors and then my car would be all set. THIS WAS GOING TO COST ME $440. I reluctantly said yes and asked for confirmation that this was going to fix my car, which I received. I waited another hour and then the car was given back to me. I asked them one last time if this was going to fix my car before I left. Yonatan said yes. Later that night, I try to start my car and guess what???? SAME ISSUE. I call Honda the following day and come back into the Culver City location to have them look at my car. This time, I bring a video that shows how my car isn’t working. They tell me they’ll probably need to replace the Throttle Body and that it’s covered under warranty. I’m mad I paid for a cleaning of the throttle body when it’s going to be replaced, but I keep my cool because it’s under warranty. After another SEVEN hours of sitting in their depressing office, I’m told they can’t identify the issue and everything is fine. I go to the technician and show him the video of my car not starting and he tells me “ohhhhhh its the starter”, which Yonatan says will also be under warranty. NOT UNDER WARRANTY. They proceed to tell me that it’s going to be ANOTHER SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. I tried to explain that this is insane, I paid $440 for a problem that I didn’t have because they didn’t try to clarify the issue. They won’t refund me, they won’t discount me, nothing. They’re just trying to blame me for their blatant mistake. I should have walked away the first day when I heard a woman screaming at them about how they xxxxed up her car during an oil change. I’m absolutely disgusted by this location and this company. NEVER VISIT HONDA CULVER CITY AND NEVER WORK WITH YONATAN. All they will do is rob you. I used to love Honda, but I don’t think I’m ever going to buy a Honda again after this experience. You don’t give a xxxx about your customers. My fiancé was going to buy a car from you next month. Not anymore. Disgusting. More
Be aware you will need to add $3000. 00 to the sales price of the used vehicle you are looking to purchase. This is for a security tracking system ($1950.00) and clear coat paint protect 00 to the sales price of the used vehicle you are looking to purchase. This is for a security tracking system ($1950.00) and clear coat paint protection ($950.00). Culver City Honda did offer to discount the vehicle by $500.00. Tough insisted I had to purchase both items. Even though I did not need the additional tracking system as the Nissan I was looking to purchase already has NISSANCONNECT capability without any installation - you just activate the app from google play or apple store. This app is interactive with the vehicles touch screen and voice commands. The Nissan Connect Services app brings remote access, security, and convenience features from your Nissan to your compatible iPhone or Apple Watch. Start your engine, set customizable alerts, and get vehicle information, Music apps like Pandora and iHeartRadio Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile app integration SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Travel Link with movie listings and sports scores - all without taking out your keys. Why would I spend $2000.00 on a device I do not need! For me, It is redundant and frustrating being made to purchase something I do not need and is already available on the vehicle. Despite being inflexible on the add on, the sales team was helpful, professional and courteous. More
Michelle and Felipe were the best. I came in not expecting to purchase a vehicle as I had been shopping around for weeks. I had sent them a quote through email and was hoping they would at least mat expecting to purchase a vehicle as I had been shopping around for weeks. I had sent them a quote through email and was hoping they would at least match it. Not only did they keep their word by matching the offer, they managed to beat it when I went down to the dealer. What I liked best was how fast the transaction took place. Being a first time buyer I expected to be there 3-4 hours. I was in and out in 2. The team managed to get the car out of the showroom floor and detail it all while I was doing my paperwork and financing. If you’re worried about a markup, every dealer has one right now and I knew what I was getting myself into by doing research and getting competitive quotes from other dealers. Besides how fast my transaction was, what I also liked was that the sales staff was not pushy with products/ protection plans. Overall this was a pleasant experience for me and I hope it is for others who find this dealership. More
