I’ve purchased two used cars (a Suburu and a Toyota) and regretted both. Neither had an inordinate amount of miles on it, but their inspection (or disclosure practices) was severely lacking. Toyota had seve regretted both. Neither had an inordinate amount of miles on it, but their inspection (or disclosure practices) was severely lacking. Toyota had several issues immediately; the dealer attempted to correct those but then on the first warm day it was clear the AC was not working. Their estimate to fix? $4000. I figured I just had bad luck on that car, sold it and bought a brand new Toyota from another dealer. Three years later we picked up a 6 year old suburu legacy. Again, minor issues right away which they blamed on driver error; I disagreed but paid for the work. On our first oil change, we find out the car is burning oil at a rate of a quart every 5-6k miles. It’s obviously too late to do anything (90 day warranty), so we’re stuck with this. Neither car was cheap, neither was a “back of the lot” xxx they just wanted rid of. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I’ll never do business with them again. More
