This customer was coached by a competing dealer to bash us. This customer was never treated poorly. She was never sworn at. We were very concerned as to why she felt the way she did and was treated with the utmost respect. In fact, I know her father and was referred by him. He was in the car business himself and has since retired. Back in January, she bought a car from us. I personally went over the deal with him to make sure she was getting a great deal. Because of some credit challenges, we still got her approved but the bank would only give so much. After going over all the numbers with her and her father she agreed to purchase. She could have walked away and not taken the Soul. I gave her that option. We could have done the same for her to try and get her the Forte she wanted because she made her payments on time which raised her credit rating. But she choose to go to a dealer closer to her home. I am positive they instructed her to bash us and call Kia Corporate. We have since resolved her complaint with Kia and have filed a complaint with Kia against the dealer. We are also looking at options to get this slander removed from Dealer Rater. I am breaking all the rules here as to responding to customers complaints against us. We are not perfect and do make mistakes. However, I will not accept false accusations against Mentor Kia. We are a decent, good standing company. The salespeople at the other dealer we're all fired by Mentor Kia in the past. They all have an axe to grind and are getting customers to slander us. I have let this go long enough. This customer is wrong in what she said. The dealer is wrong in playing these tactics. I know what they've been doing. It will all come out soon enough. What goes around, comes around. It is time to stand for what is right. Please understand. Rating dealers is a good thing. It helps customers find the right dealer. However, I have a right to protect the company under such illegal business practices. Jeff Soukup General Manager Mentor Kia
