My visit to Kelly Honda was the best car buying experience I've had. I walked in with 2 cars in mind from the used department that I had seen online. I had also just relocated to the area for a new job and they were very understanding of not having a lengthy job history. My "customer service" and "friendliness" ratings (5s) are based on salesman Don Williams. He was hands-off and very easy to work with. After meeting him, discussing the Honda Pilot, and taking a test drive, I felt strongly about this dealership getting my business. I live only a few miles away and thanks to such a great meeting with Don, I was excited about possibly going with a Honda dealership so close to home. When Don and I finished talking and I told him I would be bringing my wife in to see the Pilot, he asked me to come inside and "tap the desk', which apparently in the car sales world means meet the manager. I sat at Don's desk and waited while a "gentleman" dressed in a suit walked by, looked at me, and went into a nearby office. Right after this happened, Don returned and said I was all set to go and did not need to wait for the manager. I was dressed in nylon sweat pants, a long sleeved t-shirt, and a Red Sox hat so I immediately thought my attire was to blame for apparently not being worthy of the manager's time. Regardless, I was offended. Don tried to be polite and say all the right things, but the damage was done. Yesterday, I stopped at Kelly Honda with a new 2012 Touring Pilot that I bought at Honda North in Danvers. I found Don and told him I was sorry his manager cost him a sale. I also told him that I appreciated his professionalism and the time he spent with me when I stopped in and that I would have no problem recommending him if I knew someone in the market for a Honda. Don was thankful that I stopped by and once again expressed his disappointment with how our first, and last, meeting ended. He asked me to visit this site to write a review and then told me that the manager in question no longer works at Kelly Honda. I told him that if he had left the dealership manager business all together, it was a wise career move. It's the age-old lesson of not judging a book by it's cover. Don Williams is an excellent salesman and a really good guy. He was simply the victim of a douchebag manager. More
We came to Kelly Honda with a fair degree of apprehension after having a horrible experience with another (unnamed) Honda dealer in Natick. Fortunately, we were greeted by Don Williams who immediately put us at ease with his mature, professional and decidedly non-car-salesman-like demeanor. After Don spent all the time in the world answering my wife's questions and taking her for a drive, he showed me respect by not playing the back-and-forth price game (the one where the salesman says..."oh, let me go check with my sales manager" 15 times) When I indicated what price I wanted, Dennis joined in by quickly getting to the bottom line without all the fuss and bother. Neither of these guys played games, needlessly negotiated or ever caused us to feel we were being taken advantage of. We give Don Williams a 5 star rating for what he isn't (pushy, aggressive) as much as for what he is (knowledgeable, adaptable to what his customer is looking for, courteous, and professional). Let's hope Kelly appreciates what an asset this guy is for them. More
We are in the market to buy a new vehicle. When we visited the showroom and told the salesperson our expectation, he suddenly became uninterested (maybe the "we would not be buying right away" stateme visited the showroom and told the salesperson our expectation, he suddenly became uninterested (maybe the "we would not be buying right away" statement was not appealing to him) When we wanted to test drive the vehicle the salesperson came back (after the usual "let me find out") and said they are out of temp registration plates and have to wait for a while. The showroom was not that busy though. Made me wonder if they are really interested in making the sale (even if it is one month down the line) or have limited temp plates to take the car for a test drive. I guess Kelly Honda should invest in some extra temp registration plates :) More
I just purchased my first 2012 Honda Accord. The car was everything I wanted, and I purchased the car. Eddie gave me a great deal, and he even drove my brand new car to me, which I was greatly appreciated. He even offered to spend some time with me to show me the bells and whistles the car is equipped with. This is a plus since this is my first Honda. Thanks Eddie for all you've done. More
My 2005 Accord Coupe needed a tremendous amount of work and was not running well. This dealership was able to pinpoint the problems and fix them. Very friendly, started out giving us a fairly competitive price, about 800 more then the quote online from truecar right off the bat. Obviously they meant business and weren't fooling around.
