Dan Hogue confirmed the vehicle was there and available. I stated my distance to the dealership and did not want to travel the distance without assurance it would be there. Dan told me he would "hide the vehicle in the back" till I arrived. I thanked him and told him I would be leaving shortly and should be arriving in about 2 hours. I felt confident that Dan would do as he stated, gathered my old tag and a bank check and headed to the dealership. Once I arrived I was immediately greeted and was told Dan would be right with me, he was finishing up with another customer. I patiently waited and Dan came and introduced himself, I told him I spoke with him earlier and he said he would be right with me. When he returned he passed me off to Casey Tucker stating he was very busy but Casey would take care of me. I told him the vehicle type and pointed it out and we went to obtain the key. It was not in the lockbox so he went inside to get it. When Casey returned he informed me that it was already sold. I reiterated my story and he replied "don't shoot the messenger, that is what I was told". I asked to speak to a manager and was brought to Chuck Cooper, I can honestly say I have never felt so insignificant as a consumer in my adult life. I felt that he was ok with a dismissive "I'm sorry" and for me to be on my way. He did try to say that as a dealership vehicles cannot be reserved and doubted my story when he questioned Dan directly and listened to him back peddle the answer. Dan went on to say yes he did tell me he would hide the car in the back but since he has been burned before by people not showing up after saying they would he went ahead and sold it. Had I been told from the start that it could not be saved I would not have wasted my time. More
