DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE & IF YOU DID CHECK YOUR PPWRK On 07/07/24, my husband and I visited Keith Pierson Toyota in Jacksonville to purchase a 2024 Highlander. He entered first while I parked an PPWRK On 07/07/24, my husband and I visited Keith Pierson Toyota in Jacksonville to purchase a 2024 Highlander. He entered first while I parked and was greeted by LACOYA TENDER who showed us a navy-blue Highlander and joked about "Yankee blue" since we’re from New York. We wanted to trade in our 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, but they declined, so we opted to trade in our 2018 Honda Accord. After a test drive, everything seemed fine. When we decided to proceed, Lacoya presented a sheet with the down payment and monthly payments. We questioned the numbers, and he assured us of an "unlimited lifetime warranty" covering services like tire changes and roadside assistance—all for free (first red flag). This was unusual since we had never seen so many free services bundled together. In the finance office, the numbers matched, but nothing was mentioned about these services. The contract was on a long yellow form, typed (second red flag). After leaving, I reviewed the contract and discovered none of the promised items were free; they had been sneakily added:First Mile Powertrain Wraparound Service Agreement: $2,249, Maintenance Agreement: $3,995 Road Hazard: $995. I checked the paperwork, and my signature was absent from these documents; they were fraudulently added! 07/19/24: Lacoya emailed my husband about the vehicle. I responded, cc'ing Sales Manager Jonathan McDowell. Lacoya called, mistakenly addressing my husband as "Mr. Lopez," and mentioned the Sales Manager would review our concerns, but the promised call never came. 07/24/24: I returned to the dealership due to lack of response. Jonathan introduced me to Gerard Vashon, the Finance Director, who acknowledged the fraudulent charges and initiated a refund process for $7,239. 08/05/24: I emailed Gerard about the refund; it hadn’t been applied. He called to inform me the $2,249 charge was pending. 08/13/24: $5,261.24 was applied to the principal, but the $2,249 was still not processed. 08/27/24: After another email, Gerard said he’d check on the remaining refund. 09/14/24: After two months of back-and-forth, I visited the dealership again and spoke with Sales Manager Mufid "Moe" Kucanin, who was dismissive. Moe insisted the dealership only owed me $995, despite explaining I was owed $2,249. I showed him the Toyota website, and he waved a paper showing the charges were voided, but my husband pointed out that paperwork shouldn’t exist if the charges hadn’t been fraudulently added! I stated I no longer wanted the vehicle and requested a buyback. Moe initially said they couldn’t because I had the car for two months, but that was due to ongoing discussions. He suggested a trade-in for another Highlander with a lower payment, which I never mentioned. I reiterated my desire for a buyback. Moe then claimed I’d have to pay title, taxes, and fees, totaling around $10,000, stating, "Money doesn’t grow on trees," which was both insulting and irrelevant. I told him that was impossible. I pulled up my email with the breakdown, but Moe cut me off, saying Jonathan would call me. I expected that call but never received it. 09/16 I reached out to Gerard, who called the next morning, confirming the check had just reached the bank. I called and confirmed receipt on 09/16. Gerard stated the title, taxes, and fees were closer to $3,000, not $10,000, but they still refused to take the car back. The contract should have been voided the moment I reported the fraudulent charges! 09/22 I reached out to Keith Pierson, who contacted the dealership. Gerard informed me that employees were reprimanded only after I contacted Keith. When I asked for my deposit back, Gerard asked if I wanted all or partial because it would hurt his pockets! He later said there was nothing else they could do, clearly protecting his pockets. They assumed we wouldn’t catch the fraud maybe cause were minorities. After numerous chances, The employees were in cahoots to protect the More
