The only reason I am giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 is because the salesman, Duran, was great. Very personable and polite to work with. And the vehicle I purchased was as described. But besides th of 1 is because the salesman, Duran, was great. Very personable and polite to work with. And the vehicle I purchased was as described. But besides this, BUYER BEWARE!!! I purchased a 2023 Nissan Altima SR on 02/21/2025. If you plan to buy a vehicle from Keffer VW, bring your own financing and watch out for bogus fees. This dealership tried to charge me a $855.50 "Government Fee" and an almost $3,000 "Protection Package that was shown on the invoice. I called them out on it and they claimed the "Government Fee" is to title and register the vehicle. The cost to title and register a vehicle in North Carolina is $94.75. For the same where I live in South Carolina is $115. After I told them I was not going to pay this or for the "Protection Package," the "Protection Package" was removed and title and registration fees changed to what it should actually be. First evidence of FRAUD. The other deceptive practice that they will do without telling you, is if you finance with the dealer, they will jack up your interest rate. I was prequalified with Captial One Auto at an interest rate of 5.75% prior to making a deal for the vehicle I bought. I told the salesman and finance manager this. When it came time to sign the finance papers, I was told my interest rate was 7.25% with a credit score of 820. My credit was pulled from Capital One Auto, Wells Fargo, and Truist Bank as I got the alerts on my phone while at the dealer. I asked if that was the lowest interest rate offered to me and again brought up the prequalification and was told that was the lowest rate offered and that the lower prequalification rate is something lenders will do just to get people to the dealer. The finance manager also informed me the interest rate was the same at 7.25% whether I financed at 60 or 72 months. Unfortunately, I took the finance manager's word on this. After leaving the dealer with my new car, something was bugging me about this. I called Capital One Auto and asked what interest rate I was approved for after the dealer filed my credit application. To my shock and surprise, I was actually approved for 5.75% for 60 months and 5.92% for 72 months!!!! After looking over my paperwork, I then found out the finance manager LIED to me! My interest rate for 72 months was actually 7.49%. The dealer clearly jacks up the interest rate for better kickbacks and does not disclose this to the buyers. These practices are ILLEGAL and plain evidence of CONSUMER FRAUD! I called the dealership back twice within 3 days and spoke to two different managers each time. Both said they would talk to the accounting and finance department when they came in and get back to me. The second dealership manager even texted me his phone number. I texted back the next two days with no response. BIG SURPRISE! I've now filed a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General's Office Consumer Protection Agency and the Federal Trade Commission. I hope my experience with this dealership will make other buyers aware before shopping here and to make sure you keep an eye out for this dealer's shady practices. More
I did buy a car for my 16 year old at Keffer but I would NOT recommend them to anyone. They go back and forth on price and other services that they want to add to the car and when you finally agree and sha NOT recommend them to anyone. They go back and forth on price and other services that they want to add to the car and when you finally agree and shake on the final price, they change everything on the contract. If you try to call them, voicemail is always full. If you text your sales rep, you'll get ignored. Nothing about what I've gone through with them makes me feel like they are honest or trustworthy about selling anyone a car. It's all about scamming you into paying more so they get more money. More
Do not buy or use service department from this place. I NEVER leave reviews but I feel compelled to warn others. I have tried to shop/buy here twice. Sales was so rude and condescending that I went to VW I NEVER leave reviews but I feel compelled to warn others. I have tried to shop/buy here twice. Sales was so rude and condescending that I went to VW Charlotte and bought there twice. Tried to use service as it is much closer to home and it has been a nightmare. Submitted claims wrong for warranty approval, couldn’t get an adjuster out. Called warranty. Had an adjuster out the next business day and was informed how claims were sent in and why nothing was approved. They didn’t even submit my codes from the check engine light. When asked the service rep wanted to argue. Needless to say it’s been two weeks still don’t have my car fixed. I just want to warn people. Do not under any circumstances use this dealership to purchase or for service. Make the trek to any other VW dealership no matter how inconvenient for yourself and save yourself time money and dignity. More

After a lot of back and forth, their salesman explicitly told me that they advertise lower prices to get people to come in. A $22k car turned into a $25k before they even added any fees in. They didn't even bother doing the typical fee and add-on nonsense, they just jacked the price up $3k. I've got the text messages if anyone from this company cares to know what their salesmen are doing. More
I’ve been coming to Keffer for service for 5? years. Service started out good. Then they went through a shakeup that was like troubled waters. Seems they have worked out the wrinkles. Whom it regards. I drove over 4 hours to this appointment on yesterday and when I got there I was told at first the vehicle was Not there anymore by one associate. Wh I drove over 4 hours to this appointment on yesterday and when I got there I was told at first the vehicle was Not there anymore by one associate. When I asked for you they told me you weren't available. When I decided to speak to a manager he told me he had the car but it needed alot of mechanical work! He also stated the car was going to be returned to Florida. This company is falsely advertising a car with a photo shop picture of the car that doesn't exist and it's no for sale! This was a bad experience at this dealership. I will never conduct business with this company. Best regards Show quoted text More
I had an absolutely dreadful experience at Keffer Volkswagen. I arrived at 11 AM and didn't leave until 6 PM, a full seven hours wasted. I was interested in a Tesla Model 3 and after finalizing my choice, I spoke with the manager. We agreed on a price, and he assured me that I would receive the $4,000 federal tax credit. Despite informing him that I am a Canadian citizen and doubting my eligibility, he insisted that registering the car in North Carolina would suffice. Trusting his expertise as the manager, I proceeded. I got my insurance on the spot and provided all necessary information, a tedious process given my status as an international student. Finally, in the finance office, I was told I had to pay an additional $4,000 because I wasn't eligible for the credit, just as I had suspected from the start. I was furious and disappointed with their unprofessionalism, especially considering this was coming from the manager. His response was dismissive and insincere, with a casual "what do you want me to do" and "I'm sorry" in a tone that clearly showed he wasn't. He even tried to equate my seven-hour ordeal to his, saying, "I was also here for 7 hours," completely disregarding the fact that it's his job. His comment that it was my choice to stay was the final straw. I had missed several important commitments to finalize this purchase, only to be met with utter incompetence and a total lack of accountability. Not a single person sincerely apologized or offered any form of compensation for the time and effort wasted. The manager's repeated questioning about my SSN, despite knowing my status as a Canadian, was beyond frustrating. He even suggested I cancel my insurance, disregarding the time and effort it took to arrange it. Overall, the service was atrocious, and the way they handled the situation was disgraceful. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a dealership. Avoid Keffer Volkswagen at all costs if you value your time and sanity. To top it off, the manager was a tall white man with a belly with a ball-shaped bump on his eyelid and white-grey hair. More
