I bought a new 2022 Sonata at Keffer Hyundai and when I went to change the oil, filter and tire rotation I was charged normally at another Hyundai dealer near my house. Due to an error or some modification went to change the oil, filter and tire rotation I was charged normally at another Hyundai dealer near my house. Due to an error or some modifications to reach sales goals, they didn't put in the system that my car has complimentary maintenance. I have the right not to pay to change oil, filter and tire rotation. Keffer Hyundai simply ignores this serious problem and besides not giving me my money back, it doesn't give any explanation of how they are going to solve it. I've tried numerous Contacts with sales management but I've gotten no response. You can't even see the Manager (it seems easier to see and talk to the President of the United States). In fact, all Keffer Hyundai Staff / Directors / Owners should improve customer service. Just take a simple look at the reviews and comments on Google and especially on Yelp to see the level of dissatisfaction and numerous problems reported by customers. Apparently it doesn't bother them at all, because they don't care about the customer. In the last two years I've spent a little over $65,000 buying a Santa Fe and a Sonata and I've never had so many problems in my life. Among them: Constant recalls (Santa Fe), transmission oil leak that still hasn't been fixed (Santa Fe), failure to honor complimentary maintenance (Sonata) and worst of all... the total lack of respect and concern in solve customer problems. If you don't want a lot of trouble, being treated badly as a customer and a headache, please don't do any kind of business with Keffer Hyundai. More
This review is not just for Keffer Hyundai, but also Genesis of Charlotte at Keffer. I was in a car accident earlier this month that ended up totaling my 2021 Genesis 3.5T Advanced+ and I was heartbroke Genesis of Charlotte at Keffer. I was in a car accident earlier this month that ended up totaling my 2021 Genesis 3.5T Advanced+ and I was heartbroken. I really did not think I could get into another used Genesis (as there are not many used GV80s out there), let alone a new one. I started talking with Yaz Shull a couple of days before coming into the dealership. I had to go to Keffer Collison (JQ is impressive, btw) to get the rest of my belongings out of my totaled '21 GV80. Then I went straight to Keffer Hyundai / Genesis to meet Yaz even though my claim with my insurance is still in process and I had also just started my GAP insurance claim a couple of days prior. I really could not wrap my head around getting a new car without the claims process being complete and my loan with Hyundai Motor Finance paid off. But because I've purchased my last 3 cars from Hyundai Motor Finance and was in good standing with them, and because I had a statement from my insurance that my '21 Genesis was totaled, and lastly (thankfully) I had GAP insurance which allowed Hyundai Finance / Genesis Finance be able to proceed in trying to get a deal done on a new car. I initially looked at a GV80 that was the same model and had the same features as my 2021, but it was a 2023. Then I saw another trim (Prestige) which I liked even more because it did not have the tiny 3rd row seats (think they are meant for little kids), and it gave me more cargo storage. And it was white with “dune” color interior - it really looks sharp! Yaz was easy to talk to, he was very patient looking at the different cars with me, patient with my questions and explained the process when a car is deemed totaled. I never felt pressured by him. I completed the application form; however, I really did not want a hard pull on my credit, especially if it was not realistic that I could get a new car. Yaz brought over the Finance Manager, Damian, who worked various payment structures on both cars that I was considering as well as explained the claims process a little more for my totaled Genesis. Damian was confident that he could get approval on the new car based on my credit score and payment history with Hyundai Finance, so I told him to run with it. It was taking a while to come back numbers, so I was figuring it was not a good sign. Then the next thing I know, Damian has payment options for the 2 different cars. I went with the '23 GV80 Prestige model on the longest term possible to keep my payments as close as I could to my previous payments. I was at $57 more a month on a brand new GV80 and an upgrade in trim. Pretty impressive that we got there. Then, I worked with the Business Manager, Peter. Peter is soft spoken, puts you at ease, he is knowledgeable in what he tries to sell after the initial monthly payment has been established. I knew I wanted GAP insurance and other maintenance / vehicle protection packages. I wasn't happy that it would add $127 to my payment. He was always trying to “close” (ABC – always be closing) on a benefit that he & the dealership wants: Smart Payments. He would not take no for an answer, but I am a previous salesperson with more years under my belt than Peter is old, and I was not taking the bait. Would I have liked to enroll in Smart Pay? Sure. But at the end of the day, it doesn't work for me and my other bills throughout the month. He just kept pressing and ultimately processed my deal with the best packages for me without Smart Pay. I still cannot believe we finally got the deal done and I have a new ’23 GV80 Prestige package thanks to Yaz Shull, Damian and Peter! Though it is so beautiful I’m afraid to drive it as I’m still traumatized from my accident and paranoid about other drivers! Disclosure: Genesis is not in the drop down under Make or Model for this review. I purchased a 2023 Genesis 3.5T Prestige package. More
