We then looked at a 2008 ACURA for a second time, realizing that its age could mean encountering repairs sooner than later. Supposedly the car had been given a complete once over by the shop on sight and it had passed the smog test. Within 24 hours we had a warning light go off, I texted the sales person and he was going to consult with service on Monday (this was a Saturday). We never hear a word. Within two weeks of purchase we have encountered $2600 worth of work including an extremely conspicuous oil leak. Again I texted the sales person, this time the used car manager is suppose to call on Monday. Giant eye roll here, no call yet. What have I gotten from all this? The shop at Kearny Mesa Subaru sucks if they cannot spot an obvious oil leak. The personnel also are not quality as they prefer to ignore situations. Our $8000 car has turned into and $11,000 car. Poor training provided by staff on using any of the safety gear/monitoring systems and general setup of the vehicle's operational systems before leaving the dealership. We were informed during our test safety gear/monitoring systems and general setup of the vehicle's operational systems before leaving the dealership. We were informed during our test drive of the vehicle that the auto start/stop function could be permanently disabled in the car's settings, but I'm now told that it cannot be shut down, so we were lied to by the sales rep, as we hate that particular function of the car's operation, which was made perfectly clear during the test drive. Never told that a separate device needed to be purchased to achieve deactivation. No follow-up from the dealership via email or tele, other than this request for a rating. We were supposed to get some hands-on training via an online Zoom call which was never set up as we were informed would happen, just a lot of talk from everyone at the dealership from the sales manager down to the sales rep. Why would anyone expect anything different these days? In retrospect, if we had known that the auto start/stop function couldn't be permanently disabled other than shutting it off each time the car is started, we would have never purchased a Subaru brand automobile. Respectfully, with disappointed regards, MHL. More
I came here in June to trade in a subaru for a new Subaru despite my intuition telling me not to and sincerely regret returning here. For the record, John K. in the service department is the only person h despite my intuition telling me not to and sincerely regret returning here. For the record, John K. in the service department is the only person here I have had a good experience with, solely based on competency. This dealership has been affected by a recent hack that they can't stop using as an excuse so all invoicing and computer systems are down, therefore everything had to be handwritten. The finance manager Andy was completing a dmv form and I noticed my first and middle name were transposed so I told him to fix that. He blamed his sales manager for the mistake and set it aside. Still not sure how this even happened unless you don't know how to read a drivers license. We successfully traded the old Subaru for the new, and paid the difference in full. Side note: I do not recommend trading your Subaru here--We were offered 1/3 of the price of the highest trim of a 2022 Outback because there was an offer for $3k off the 2024 Outback, so they factored it against our trade value. It is less than a month since the new vehicle was purchased (again, IN FULL) and I received a denied loan notification for insufficient credit history from a lender with my INCORRECT transposed name, exactly as the incorrect form. Which tells me they applied me for a loan for a car I was NOT FINANCING, WITHOUT MY CONSENT and ran my credit with my incorrect name. And possibly submitted incorrect information to the DMV. I have since spoken to Andy, who has not accepted any wrongdoing since my credit was not impacted. I’m concerned the dealership does not care how they misuse customer information. More
I normally have a hard time with car dealers not the case with Kearny Mesa Subaru. I believe Colton was are sales rep. and he was very knowledgeable about the Model we were looking at buying. Made it clear with Kearny Mesa Subaru. I believe Colton was are sales rep. and he was very knowledgeable about the Model we were looking at buying. Made it clear I wanted the out the door price and he came back with the price, to include best price, taxes/license and recommended add ons, it was pretty close to the price I had researched and was willing to pay. We walked out with a 2024 Ascent Onyx in around 3 hours, I would recommend this dealership to my friends. I took the vehicle in for Paint and Window sealer and was very impressed with the Service Department. More

I added some accessories that the service dept took care of in a very timely manner. The two ladies in the parts dept were also very helpful... I couldn't be happier with the whole staff and my new Outback. More
