I found a car I was interesting in on Autotrader and called Karl Knauz BMW in Chicago. Sam answered. He proceeded to tell me they had an additional similar car in stock. He walked me through the differences in detail through emails, feature and option lists and photos. He held the cars for me and I got on a plane. I test drove and purchased my car that evening. Sam gave me a company to ship the car. They were fair in pricing and did a good job. I would definitely buy a car from Sam or Karl Knauz BMW again. All in all my experience was excellent! More

**Updated February 2024** At the end of my 3 year lease, I reached out to Rolly to exercise my right to buy my vehicle out of the lease. He communicated that a $650 dealership fee would need to be pa lease, I reached out to Rolly to exercise my right to buy my vehicle out of the lease. He communicated that a $650 dealership fee would need to be paid, not inclusive of documentation or plate/title fees. I was somewhat confused as the lease agreement did not make mention of any similar fee. I reached out to BMW Financial Services and they informed me that dealer charges (if any) would be identified in my lease contract. I triple checked that and could not find any. When I asked Rolly to identify them, he could not do so but instead said that this was what Karl Knauz charged for lease buyouts and I was welcome to take the car to another dealership to buy out the vehicle if I was unwilling to pay the fee. Per Rolly: “Karl Knauz BMW does charge the fees. If there is another dealership that will waive them, you have the option to go there. Please let me know either way. We have a whole process to do so.” So, in other words, after servicing the relationship from purchase (lease), to scheduled maintenance and beyond, when the lease came to maturity and I sought to buy the vehicle outright, Knauz was not interested without an additional, undisclosed (junk) fee. The need to go through a dealer for a lease buyout in Illinois is a prime example of state laws hurting consumers. As of 4/26/22, the financial services companies (title holders) affiliated with vehicle OEMs (BMW Financial Services) are unable to sell vehicles direct to consumers. So what happens instead of a 5 minute phone call with the financial services firm is that the local dealers try to find additional profit at the expense of the consumer and in violation of the original sale/lease agreement. This is unfortunate. I ended up going to Perillo BMW downtown Chicago. They agreed there were no additional fees to be paid, I dropped off a check and was on my way. It’s unfortunate that the team at Karl Knauz couldn’t honor the same obligation. As a result, I cannot recommend Karl Knauz BMW. It was never about the money, as $650 is a relatively trivial amount. It was about what is right and what is not. **Original Review** I contacted Rolly (Roland) Davidson to let him know what I was looking for and he jumped right on it. Within a few minutes he called me back and presented me with my options and transparent pricing. Later that same day I was out at the dealership test driving the car and we finalized everything in a short period of time that evening. He also spent a lot of time walking me through every feature in the car and making sure it was all in line with my expectations. Thank you Rolly for making my experience at Knauz BMW one to remember. I am very happy with the decision I made and have loved my new X3 M40i for these first couple of months I've had it. A truly excellent machine and always a thrill to drive. Thanks again! -Jack More
