My name is Reegan and my mother and I worked with Rebecca Frederico about a month ago. My mom was looking into getting a car to replace her 1993 honda accord. She didn't know what exactly to look for, she Frederico about a month ago. My mom was looking into getting a car to replace her 1993 honda accord. She didn't know what exactly to look for, she had a budget and she needed to stick to it. It felt as if Rebecca found this as not a hurdle but a challange, and one that she definiately met! She listened to my mom and instead of pushing her to one car or another she got her the one my mom really wanted! My mom does not like driving anywhere she is not familiar with, I didn't know what Rebecca was going to say when we were test driving it and the person buying it wouldn't drive it. Rebecca just said, "My mom is the same way, no big deal." I loved that! Once the car was bought we were driving away from the lot when a friend who was behind us said that we had no brake lights...needless to say I wasn't happy, it got worse when I got back to the service department and delt with a man there that was not the nicest person. I just called Rebecca up and she apologized and said she would see it through and make sure it got fixed. I also noticed a sound while I was driving it and she looked into it and found that something needed to be replaced there as well. She offered us a car to drive and really calmed me down. We loved working with her, couldn't have asked for a better experience! I bought my 2007 sonata at shawnee mission and my partner just bought a 2009 Santa Fe there as well. Our experiences were not near as good as the one my mother had, so if I ever trade my car in I will be asking for Rebecca! More
First of all we really love our 2009 Santa Fe. It was a dealer owned car that only had 3011 miles on it when we bought it. Although it was considered "used" it still came with the full "new car" warranty. dealer owned car that only had 3011 miles on it when we bought it. Although it was considered "used" it still came with the full "new car" warranty. Pretty Awesome!!! Our sales person, Jon, was very helpful in guiding us through the car buying process. His knowledge of the cars and the company were very impressive considering his short tenure with the dealership. My wife and I felt no pressure from Jon to buy a car...I liked that. I was very impressed with the management of the dealership. My wife and I met just about every manager in the dealership as we finalized the sale. They made it a point to thank us for our purchase and encouraged us to call them if we had any problems at all with our car. I was, however, a bit disappointed with several dealership related decisions. 1. When I first began looking at the Santa Fe I was very interested in a specific blue one. Dispite my interest the dealership sold the car right out from under me without a single call from the dealership asking me if I was still interested in that specific car. I guess I felt like I should have had at least been given first crack at buying the car since I was considering it for purchase. Kudos to our salesman, Jon Munro, for directing us to the Santa Fe we eventually purchased. 2. Since our Santa Fe was a dealer owned car (they called it an MSO car) it was acquired by Shawnee Mission Hyundai through the auction process. Somewhere in the process one of the key fobs was lost. When I asked the dealership to provide a second key fob (typically new cars come with 2 fobs) I was told by our salesman that his boss said that they could not do that. Bad Cal!!! When I checked the cost of one with the parts department I was told that it was $160 for the fob and another $40 to program it. $200 for something the dealership, in my opintion, really should have taken care of considering the investment I was making in their automobile. I immediately went home and did an internet search and found an OEM fob for $40. $40 versus $160. Someone's getting ripped off but it wasn't me. I scheduled my Santa Fe for service to have the key fob programmed and again...kudos to the service department...I told them my story about the fob and they programmed my key fob at no cost to me. Overall I would have to say that we were pleased with our experience at Shawnee Mission Hyundai and would recommend them to others. More
Coming from a position of dreading car shopping, and not having done so in ten years, I was prepared to be underwhelmed by the experience. I happened to live chat with Tracy Bean @ Shawnee Mission Hyundai having done so in ten years, I was prepared to be underwhelmed by the experience. I happened to live chat with Tracy Bean @ Shawnee Mission Hyundai and made an appointment to visit the dealership. I was pleasantly surprised by the painlessness of the process of finding a car with Tracy's assistance. She was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and followed up with me by phone and E-mail. I would recommend Tracy and the rest of the staff that I met at Shawnee Mission Hyundai to anyone in search of a car. More
I am a 50 year old man. This was the best car-buying experience I have ever had. I visited another Hyundia dealer in the area first but did not have a good feeling about their operation and their sales experience I have ever had. I visited another Hyundia dealer in the area first but did not have a good feeling about their operation and their salesman didn't seem to care about my needs so much as selling the limited-inventory Sonatas they had in stock. Shawnee Mission Hyundai has the best inventory by far of Sonatas and other Hyundais in the Kansas City area. Tom King's (Salesman) follow-up with me was very good. Timely, informative but not too much. He did a good job selling me on the Sonata, addressed my concerns, but at no time did I experience any hard-sell disrespect or manipulation. I traded-in my old car. Michael Ball (Sales Mgr.) was also friendly and professional. He showed me data re: the trade-in value and explained the rationale of his offer (ie., how much he'll invest in my car and the expected sales price). His numbers were similar to what I expected. I asked for a little more and got it. This is the first time I've traded in a car and didn't have to fool around with the good cop/bad cop lowball game. Michale Evan Downs (Business Mgr) was also friendly and professional. He explained the extended warrantly purchase option but did not try to sell me the various goofy stuff (underbody sealant, etched VIN #s, etc.) that other dealerships push. I think the key to buying a car is to do your research before getting too deep into the actual buying phase. I knew what car I wanted and knew what my concerns were. Tom was great with giving me the time and information to make the decision to buy. It was really a very smooth and pleasant experience. I highly recommend this dealership with no hesitation. More
The day I walked into Shawnee Mission Hyuandi I was treated with respect not like other dealers I have been to in the past. The salesman and sales manager worked hard for my business. Keith did a great job working with me and answering all of my questions. Mike also was good at making sure I was comfortable with the deal I was making. Both individuals are exceptional at their respective of my questions. Mike also was good at making sure I was comfortable with the deal I was making. Jon was very easy to work with and took a lot of time with us. We appreciated his professional job. The only thing we would have liked to see different would be the financing. The gentleman there work with us. We appreciated his professional job. The only thing we would have liked to see different would be the financing. The gentleman there worked very hard to get us a good rate late in the evening. But we also feel that we had to play hard ball a little to get that rate. We have excellent credit scores and had no reason to have to "bargain" for a better rate. We were pleased with the final outcome. More
My experience at the Shawnee Mission Hyundai was awesome! I really did not think that I would get a better deal than this one. I love my Hyundai Accent! :) I would like to add that everyone I talked to there I really did not think that I would get a better deal than this one. I love my Hyundai Accent! :) I would like to add that everyone I talked to there was nice. They respected my time and did not make me wait. I also liked the fact that I could take the car for a long ride before I desided to buy it. Thanks! Claudia Ruiz Farias More
Jon Munro is an educated salesman who knows his products well. He was a pleasure to work with. I asked him a LOT of questions concerning the design, engineering and specifications of the 2010 Santa Fe Lim well. He was a pleasure to work with. I asked him a LOT of questions concerning the design, engineering and specifications of the 2010 Santa Fe Limited AWD and if Jon didn't have the answer he found the people who did, reaching back to Hyundai Corporate in one instance. The service department has also been very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend driving a Hyundai if you haven't done so already. The V6 Limited AWD Santa Fe has better road clearance than most SUVs, more than enough power, and is very comfortable. The hidden compartment in the cargo area is great for storing items that I keep in the car all the time in case of emergencies. More
The dealership and Yvette were great. She was very respoonsive to questions and concerns. I did not feel at all rushed or pressured, but just found Yvette and other staff to be very helpful. Overall respoonsive to questions and concerns. I did not feel at all rushed or pressured, but just found Yvette and other staff to be very helpful. Overall is was a very positive experience and would definitely recommend her and the dealership to others - in fact I have. I also purchased a service contract because I was very impressed by the dealereship and assumed the service would be the same. So far it has met or exceeded expectations. More
