I just purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Sonata after having driven a 7-series BMW for a number of years. I am absolutely delighted with my new car .... and with Shawnee Mission Hyundai. Henry Frazier, my sal driven a 7-series BMW for a number of years. I am absolutely delighted with my new car .... and with Shawnee Mission Hyundai. Henry Frazier, my salesperson, was perfect to work with and changed my perception of what a car salesperson is. He was more interested in listening to what I wanted in a vehicle than he was is trying to "sell" me a car. He spent a lot of time with us, was not pushy. What a great guy! The whole process went very smoothly. When I went in to sign my paperwork, he had my new car sitting on the floor and went over each little detail and feature with me. The credit manager quickly took me through the paperwork, allowing as much time as I needed to read the fine print, and before long, I was heading down I-35 in a beautiful new 2012 black Sonata! We went to Shawnee Mission Hyundai to test drive a Tucson, and the results were similar to our test drive of a KIA Sportage, not much power and not much interest. Yvette asked if we had considered a Tucson, and the results were similar to our test drive of a KIA Sportage, not much power and not much interest. Yvette asked if we had considered a Santa Fe and led us to one that was equipped to the max. It also happened to be our choice of color, we test drove the vehicle, loved it and made a deal the same evening. The Santa Fe was a program car and was very "budget friendly" (that's a phrase coined by Yvette). Both Yvette and Michael Ball were a pleasure to deal with, both knowledgeable and professional. Since the Santa Fe had been used slightly, the dealership fixed a few scratches, did a 7500 mile maintenance and virtually made the car like new, and all that was done at our convenience and at no additional cost. We did trade in a vehicle which was to be paid off by Hyundai, the timing of the payoff was not explained well by the finance department, and there was a mistake made on the sales contract that caused us to make a second trip to the dealership to sign the corrected paperwork. Personally, I do not care for the "sales pitch" given by the finance department during the closing. It is an attempt to sell additional warranty, but I believe this is pretty much standard operating procedure everywhere. Accordingly, if a dealership would simply ask the buyer as to their extent of interest in knowing about the options available for additional warranty, rather than making the buyer sit through the process no matter their interest, it would set that dealership apart from the crowd in a positive light. However, the overall experience at Shawnee Mission Hyundai was very good, I would recommend asking for Yvette if you are in the market! More
I had corresponded with Henry Frazier a few times via email before actually going to the dealership. I told him quite frankly that I wasn't interested in dealing with a commission-hungry salesman, and t email before actually going to the dealership. I told him quite frankly that I wasn't interested in dealing with a commission-hungry salesman, and that I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted in a new car, and that I didn't make these decisions lightly. Henry took my frankness in great stride (even made some pretty good jokes about it), and I appreciated his own candor in dealing with me. Henry had vehicles I was interested in waiting for me to test drive when I got there, and never pressured me to go for more option or the higher price. He answered all of my questions honestly and courteously, and made the entire process painless from test drive to financing. The rest of the Shawnee Mission Hyundai staff was very friendly and courteous, making what could have been a long, tedious day a rather pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Henry and Shawnee Mission Hyundai to anyone looking for a new or used, high quality, affordable vehicle. More

Including working with my parents who were co-leasing with me and were out-of-state, to setting up every thing in my car before I drove off the lot. They were both patient, friendly and also had a great sense of humor! I was definitely excited to get my new car, but I had no idea that the entire process would have been this great! Scott was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would have liked to look over the vehicle prior to negotiating the price but my wife really wanted it so I went along with it.
