LOVE THIS DEALERSHIP!! Crazy story. Bought my new 2012 Sonata in May of last year at SM Hyundai--that review is also somewhere on DealerRater.com, and worked with Salesperson Dave Burris, who is AWESOME. I took it in for routine service 7/12/2013---the service department also rocks, FYI. While waiting around, I ventured onto the showroom floor and ran into Dave. It was like seeing an old friend, and in-between his appointments, we chatted up a storm and played catch-up for a couple of hours while my car was being working on. I was curious about the newly re-designed 2013 Santa Fe Sport, and they had one on the showroom floor. Dave was showing me all the details, and the interior and exterior styling of the new model really had my interest, but I knew the payment on this car was clearly not going to be within my comfort zone. I casually asked what they would take for it--what the heck, I was curious. Dave went to (new car manager) Michael Ball for some numbers, and just as I already knew---the payment was WAY beyond what I felt comfortable with. Oh well, no loss. Love my current Sonata! I then was asked, in "a perfect world, what would my comfortable number be?" I (literally) laughed out loud and said I was too embarrassed to tell you, because I know it's not possible to buy that car for that number. I grudgingly told Dave my comfort number, and as predicted.........nope, not possible! So I paid for my service, told Dave how great it was seeing him again, and got in my car to head back home. As I was pulling away, Dave stops me to tell me they had been continuing to try to make my number work, found a less expensive finance rate through another company......and they were able to come within a few dollars a month more than my number. Holy Cow. I told him I'd think about it and call him tomorrow. Heck, I was back home 15 minutes later, and thought to myself.......wow, for only a few dollars a week a more than I'm currently paying......I could be driving that awesome new 2013 Santa Fe Sport??? I contacted Dave immediately and told him I'd be in within the hour to pick it up and drop off my Sonata. Soooo, I went in for a routine service appointment that afternoon, and drove home in a new car that evening! CRAZY, HUH?? And I couldn't be happier about it! I will continue referring Dave Burris as the man to go to for a new Hyundai in KC.......and Shawnee Mission Hyundai as the only Hyundai DEALER to go to in all of KC----they actually make buying a new car FUN!!! (Instead of a nightmare). More
Everyone was great at Shawnee MIssion Hyundai - .like working with family. They gave me a fair deal and Agness Walker is really easy to work with. She went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.
