We came, left, and returned 3 separate times before being assisted. When we were helped, my wife worked with the salesman, Lee, with whom we both had an incredibly difficult experience. After much difficult negotiation, they finally caved and brought down the price of their overpriced inventory vehicle. When we purchased the vehicle, the gentleman who helped us with the paperwork was not Lee, and was not quick, as he typed with his index fingers, making many grammatical and technical mistakes. After he was finished typing, he brought us a bunch of forms to fill out. One of them was authorization to pull our credit reports, and immediately under that waiver WAS OUR CREDIT REPORTS that were pulled prior to our authorization. (This is illegal) After this form was signed, we were presented with a list of all the banks they financed through. I explicitly circled Eastman Credit Union and told them we wanted to go through them. All-in-all it took 3 hours from the moment we sat down in the chair to fill out all of the paperwork, to get to the finance office. Once in the finance office, we were told that we were approved for a loan through the dealership, which I mentioned was not the financial institution we wanted our loan through, and referred our finance officer to the piece of paper he had in front of him that had Eastman circled. At this point he had to rework the application which took us almost another hour. We were finally glad to be out of there. However once we got home, the vehicle had trouble starting. ‘No big deal’ we thought, we’ll take it back to have them look at it. The dealership gladly took the vehicle to another dealership to have it looked at without indicating who would take care of the costs. Upon calling them later to double check, we were told by Lee that he had no idea who was covering it, but that he would check instantly and call me back. I had to call again the next day, and was told the same thing by him. I also checked in on the progress of the repair and was told they were still diagnosing it. It wasn’t until day 3 when I called back and asked to speak with Lee, and then asked Lee to let me speak directly to his manager, who told me they didn’t know the status of the car, and they THOUGHT the dealership might pay for it. I told them to find out definitely and give me a call back. Nothing. I called the next day and told them to make sure they had the vehicle ready by 1 so we could just take it. I told Lee that we just wanted to pick it up and let me fix it myself, to which Lee then tried to schedule another day for us to come down for them to finish diag. They hadn’t diagnosed it, and we never got a definitive answer on who would pay for it until we picked it up. Thank God it wasn’t us. We are happy to no longer have to deal with this dealership and would not recommend buying a car here. If you do, be forewarned, if you work with Lee and need something done, you must be firm. Double check your paperwork as they are not thorough, and make sure you get definitive answers from them. Additionally, check the vehicle’s value and how long it’s been on the lot. They’ll try to stiff arm you into a high price, but will eventually come down if it’s been on the lot a while. There are a lot of other great dealerships in the Tri-Cities. It’s a shame this one had the vehicle we wanted. More
