Just not trustworthy I purchased a car from the local VW dealership, I could not get the same price as the STL market was advertising, but I was told I would be a cheat to I purchased a car from the local VW dealership, I could not get the same price as the STL market was advertising, but I was told I would be a cheat to purchase from STL market vs Columbia market where I live, I end up buying from there even though they did not have what I wanted, after Machens advertises they have every vehicle in stock. The big problem was the General Manager he kept pushing and pushing to get me to buy that day, and made many promises that after talking with the finical manager found out were nowhere near true. He stated that that happens a lot with this guy. The salesmen was good, and did everytthing he could to assit in a positve way. The overall experience of the dealership was very untrustworthy, and operated with no sense of integrity, I am not saying don’t buy from here, but beware of getting the big talk with no deliver from the sales dept. To add I did meet the Service Manager and she seemed very helpful and trustworthy. More
A Great Dealer For An Internet/Online Sale I bought my pre-owned car (2012 Ford Mustang) from Anthony Heaper, which was a great buying experience. I was checking out the car from 150 miles away I bought my pre-owned car (2012 Ford Mustang) from Anthony Heaper, which was a great buying experience. I was checking out the car from 150 miles away, and Anthony was very helpful over the phone and in getting an appointment setup for me to see the vehicle in person. He was also easy to work with while I was at the dealer. I would give Anthony's service 5-Stars! I was also happy and impressed that he had 2 drivers follow me the 150 miles back home to deliver my car! I would have given the dealership 5-stars, but there were two issues that weren't pleasant. One was the finance manager's attitude when I didn't buy a $2,700 extended warranty and then seemingly reluctantly finding the best interest rate. Second was the service department forgetting to do their pre-owned multi-point inspection which required me to have the car serviced at a local Ford dealer at my own expense on items an inspection would have caught. Otherwise, great job Anthony! More

Anthony Heaper began my journey by telling me my options and showing me a way to better my situation. Little did I know I would walk away in a car I thought I hated, down to the color. Also Jared Frierson did an excellent job in explaining my options for financing when I was debating on an extended warranty and their GAP program. I felt no pressure from either of them and I would highly recommend both of them and the rest of their staff to any consumer looking for a vehicle! More

Anthony was GREAT! I own a '98 Honda CRV and it has been a very dependable car. I was shopping around online for something similar to what I had but less miles...black o I own a '98 Honda CRV and it has been a very dependable car. I was shopping around online for something similar to what I had but less miles...black or white, preferably, and in decent condition. I found 2 or 3 vehicles that I liked but all the CRV's were way too expensive for my budget. Seemed like every time I found anything else I was interested in, someone else was interested in it, too...and would buy it. My contact person at JM was Anthony. What a great guy! Once he made contact with me he continued to make contact with me through texting. Just little short messages but never dropped the ball. After a few weeks Anthony text'd me and said a 2000 Honda CRV had just been traded in. It was white :), looked alot like my '98, had 100,000 less miles on it than my '98, very clean, and plus...all wheel drive! The price was perfect for my budget! Needless to say, I bought the car. Not sure I would've if Anthony hadn't helped me. He is a great guy plus a great car salesman. While I was very impressed with Anthony, I believe JM's could've done better.... I specifically told the fella that had me sign papers that I didn't want any extra warranties...just a loan for the amount of the car. I never buy extra warranties for anything....appliances, electronics, automobiles....but it was the end of the day and everyone was anxious to go home, I figure, and so I was rushed through the signing process. I assume I signed documents that I didn't want to sign but that's my fault. I am still trying to get the $6000 for "the extras" back from JM and to Missouri Credit Union and off of my loan balance. It could take up to 6 weeks to get it back!! Second aggravation....JM kept the car to "detail" it and give it a thorough inspection. I came back the next day to pick it up. All the little compartments were still dirty, the leather? seats were dull instead of shiny, there was still dirt under the floor mats, and the dash and windows weren't as clean as I felt they should be. But I was too excited about it to even bring it up. Driving home was awesome but over a period of the next few days a belt started squealing under the hood. Every darned time I started it the belt would slip and squeal....very embarrassing. Finally my husband got under the hood and discovered that the bolts had never been tightened on a belt that had been replaced by JM. If those bolts had come all the way out and the belt flew off it could've done some major damage to the CRV. My hubby fixed it and it's good now, but still....... Anthony's people skills saved JM from seeing my temper. If not for him I would've had to laugh out loud anytime Joe Machens dealerships were mentioned. I hope none of you have these bad experiences with JM. And, if you go there for a vehicle, make sure you ask for Anthony....you won't be sorry.... More
