Quick Service! I dropped in to have my headlight bulb replaced. They had me in & out in 50 minutes and returned my car with an exterior wash. Great service as always , got the repair done same day when it easily could have taken longer. The only reason it’s not getting the usual five stars is the courtesy driver ran out of gas after picking me up to take me to pick up my car. We coasted in to a gas station luckily, only had to help the driver push the van maybe 20’ to the pump. We had to wait for someone to bring a gas card to buy the gas which doesn’t make sense to me. Why doesn’t the driver just have that with him, or use his personal card and get reimbursed? Heck I offered to buy the gas to save time if they’d take that amount off the cost of my repair. The driver was very nice about the whole situation, but what rubbed me the wrong way was that I could hear whoever he called at the dealership to bring the gas card giving him a hard time over the phone even after the driver mentioned he had a customer with him. Very unprofessional and not what I’ve come to expect from Machens VW. Maybe save that razzing and having a laugh at the drivers expense for AFTER he gets back to the dealership when there’s no customer around. More

Level of service has significantly declined I brought my car in with a flat tire. The service is nowhere at the level it used to be. My point of contact through this ordeal was Shawn. —My tire warranty was not honored, after less than 20k miles of use —when I asked for a loaner or rental, I was told that absolutely no cars were available —when I was told my spare had been put on, I went to pick up my car, and the spare had not been put on —the very next morning, hot water splashed out of my console, and I called the dealer to see if I could bring my car in. Shawn said no, and that there wasn’t even a VW tech working that day, just a “used car repairman“. I took my car to the Ford dealer in the same branch as the VW dealer, and they had the problem solved before lunchtime. —when the tires did finally arrive, and I made an appointment to have them put on, the first available was 6 days out. I have not had that appointment yet. I have owned my Touareg (purchased new 5 years ago), and this service team is nowhere near where it used to be. Based on this last experience, I will not purchase from them again. More
Pitiful I showed up to the service center at 5:30pm, because my engine light came on and my car wouldn't shift into second gear. I called and the woman told m I showed up to the service center at 5:30pm, because my engine light came on and my car wouldn't shift into second gear. I called and the woman told me they were open until 6, yet when I went inside the guy at the desk didn't even acknowledge I was there, then told me all his service techs left at 5..so what is the point of being open until 6?? So I asked if he could at least hook the computer up and see why the light was on. He told me he didn't know how to use the computer and doubted they would teach him how. I said so I guess I should just go to auto zone and have them do it? He replied with yea, I guess so...to me that is the most pitiful excuse for customer service. Prior to this experience, I've never had an issue!! I left and called the salesman that sold me my car and he asked that I return and he would have a loaner ready for me and would have my car looked at first thing in the morning. Wow! Why couldn't the other guy offer this, instead of turn me away?? Probably would have made my experience way better. I get a call the next day telling me what was wrong with my car. I was told it was covered under my warranty, but I would have to take it to Bob Mccosh (manufacturer's warranty), which was fine, but then she told me I'd be responsible for $125 diagnostic fee! I understand company's have to make their money, but I was never told that it was going to cost me anything beforehand. To say I'm unhappy is an understatement. I've never been so disappointed with a company before. Even though my salesman did a wonderful job of diffusing the situation, that doesn't make up for the bad experience. More
