This initially created a very good environment and set the tone for a great overall experience with all departments at the dealership throughout the buying process. No follow up, Trade value fluctuates! Last week Wednesday I was working on a deal on an SUV with Chris. A lot of discussion over the phone as I usually buy online from Machens stores. I to Last week Wednesday I was working on a deal on an SUV with Chris. A lot of discussion over the phone as I usually buy online from Machens stores. I told them what I wanted for my trade. I was brought back a $30,500 offer on my trade. I explained to chris at that point with how upside down I was in my trade I’d probably wait longer to try to buy. After this I was contacted by Conrad. He asked if I could get $33,000 for my trade and a good interest rate no higher that 5% as a possibility if we could make a deal. So I told him yes, he stated he’d do some research and call me back ASAP, and I told him I’d come in that day if he got back with me quick enough. Well by the next day over 24 hours later I decide to message Chris to find out why Conrad never called me back to give me any answers after sounding pretty promising on the phone on making a deal. Well unfortunately Chris said Conrad said the first trade offer stood, and that was it. My problem here is I was led on to believe my trade value could be $33,000 on my explorer with a decent interest rate even with negative equity. But nobody gave so much as a courtesy of a phone call, or explanation until I followed up as the customer. I was pretty upset that They didn’t even take the time to remember to call back, and that suddenly now they’re not interested enough in making a deal to even call me back. I’ve spent a lot of money with Machens dealers over the last 6 years. I absolutely will not buy again. More
