Since my wife was not able to be with me, I had to convey the provided information to her for her input as this was going to be a significant investment and would be something that we would keep for quite awhile. I appreciated Jim's patience and the fact that he did not use "pressure" sales techniques. He appears to really know his merchandise and does come across as someone who wants to help you any way he can to make your vehicle shopping experience pleasant and not stressful. I would recommend him to friends who might be interested in purchasing a new Toyota vehicle. More

My 2004 RAV 4 with 109,250 miles had a good run but it was past time to consider a newer model. I always want to keep a Toyota RAV 4 in my garage. The entire sales time from Sales Manger, Mike to the Finance Manager, Ricardo, to Jim Ellis the best salesman I've ever dealt with - they were all the best. I give Machens Toyota and the team they have on board a 10+ rating (on a scale from 1 to 10) Next time you need to consider a new vehicle, you can't beat Jim and Machens Toyota in Columbia, MO. More
car STOLEN from dealership lot while being serviced My car was stolen from this lot on May 2014. Legally, the dealership is not responsible for this occuring (as you do sign a document when you leave My car was stolen from this lot on May 2014. Legally, the dealership is not responsible for this occuring (as you do sign a document when you leave your car there stating: if your vehicle is "lost or damaged" they are not liable), which is understandable to some degree. That being said, however: 1) They parked my car where they did not have any cameras so police had nothing to work on. 2) They left the door unlocked while being parked in this area that did not have any surveillance. 3) The management there was not accommodating at all. I had to literally argue/yell/debate and repeatedly express my hardship with my newfound lack of transportation in order to convince them I needed to hold their loaner car while my insurance resolved my stolen vehicle claim. After many stressful phone calls during work and emails, I was able to obtain this accommodation. Unfortunately, my story doesn't end here: After closing out my claim from my insurance. I returned their car, which they reulctantly loaned to me, 4) Management claimed that there was hail damage to the car that was not there when I was given the loaner car. They told me that they would be contacting my insurance company to get the money and that was that. They never gave me a walk-through prior to handing the keys to the loaner car to me. Instead- they handed me a document and had me sign at the highlighted areas. Of the signatures/initials, one stated the car was in perfect condition. I do accept fault in not reading it all prior to signing, but one would think a respectable company would at least offer a walk-through or describe the contents of a document. If I would've accepted their explanation, they would've been able to skim out more money from me and my insurance company. (Imagine a surgeon saying he took your kidneys out when you signed for a nose job without any explanation of why he never explained the need to remove your kidneys). It's not acceptable here- and it shouldnt be acceptable anywhere else. True: There was hail damage to the car, but it did not happen while the car was in my possession. After demanding they look into it further, after refusing to leave without a reasonable explanation, and after proving to them that there was no hail storm while the car was in my possession, they THEN decided to look at their "other list" and determined the car already had hail damage. As a doctor at the University hospital, I find this shockingly unacceptable and disgraceful. More

He reviewed the particulars regarding the operation of the Prius before we left the lot and was extremely helpful in answering our questions. He was not "pushy" which we appreciated. He was really good at matching our vehicle needs with a Prius and was patient with us as we have never owned a Toyota let alone a Prius. Because of Moses we would probably return to Machens when we need another vehicle. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being excellent we would rate Moses at 11+. A few weeks ago my trusty 2005 Tacoma was hit and totaled. A complete and very stressful bummer. My husband and I had a great experience. In the 4-5 hours we were there, Dan and Danielle went above and beyond by presenting lots of options, letting us take the time to test drive multiple vehicles and ans we were there, Dan and Danielle went above and beyond by presenting lots of options, letting us take the time to test drive multiple vehicles and answering all of our questions and concerns from beginning to end. We were made to feel like the only customers there even though it was a very busy Saturday! Jeff was very easy to work with regarding the financing and once we had made our decision, had us in and out very quickly. On delivery, Danielle made sure I knew everything about my vehicle and even helped me get my Bluetooth connected before we left. All in all, we had a very pleasant experience from start to finish with a process that can be very stressful and frustrating. More
