Very professional service department, great waiting area with perks, quick service. We'll go back even though it's over 100 miles each way. Scott was enthusiastic and got me just the car I wanted and with financing too. I had asked about the tires before I came in and he said he didn't know about them, that we'd have to check. I called right away (the next day or next week day) as the tires on this $13K Prius were 3 or less on the outside and worn unevenly. A second trip to Columbia and numerous calls to both Scott and the manager (many with no response back from them at all) and I feel the offer of $100 off a set of tires within the first 30 days (when all the taxes and plates were due) was nothing. Found out from paperwork in the glovebox from a dealership and an insurance company that the vehicle had been wrecked (which I was told it hadn't been. Hmmm, don't know that I ever got the copy of the carfax I was told I would get that first day). I just took a trip to Branson with my kids. Found one of my tires had a bubble on it (less than two months from purchase). Drove home gripping the wheel waiting for a blow out. I'm now driving my daughter's car. Scott didn't give my friend the referral bonus he said he would send to her (she had bought her Prius from this dealership also and she had been very pleased). However, after all I have been through with them over this, my friend ended up buying a new vehicle from a Ford dealership. I am actually very happy with the car. The girls in the office were great to work with. I am very displeased with the salesman/dealership selling such a nice car with such inferior tires and I would have expected them to make it right. No, I am not pleased with their follow up in this matter and because of this I will not be recommending this dealership to anyone. Period. More
Working with Josh Elder was the best car experience I have EVER had .I have bought a lot of cars over the years and developed a contempt for the whole schtick. Josh is a new breed - I told him what I wanted to do (trade my vw beetle) for a newer beetle. I told him what I could afford and what I wanted. Seriously he found exactly what I wanted and LESS than what I expected to pay. He didn't call me with unnecessary 'what can I do to get you in this car today? calls. He e-mailed and let me know he found what I wanted and asked me if I wanted to make an appointment to see it. Josh is friendly, funny, experienced, he listens, he explains everything. He keeps promises, he makes things happen. He is a no BS guy. Josh didn't make me feel stupid when he had to go over things more than once - I could tell he wanted me to be comfortable and I walked away feeling really happy and trusting that if there are any issues -- Josh will handle it. I highly recommend Josh Elder and Joe Machens Nissan. The entire staff at Joe Machens is welcoming, friendly and eager to please. I know I am in good hands with everyone there. More

I cannot begin to explain the terrible experiences I have had with this dealership over the last 4 years. It all started when my 2004 maxima began to have transmission troubles back when I was a student at had with this dealership over the last 4 years. It all started when my 2004 maxima began to have transmission troubles back when I was a student at the university. I told them I had a bad transmission and they jerked me around saying maybe it was one thing, maybe it was another, and about 4 repairs and over a thousand dollars later, the problem of the bad transmission remained. Besides wasting my time and money, I had to pay $4000 for a new transmission that I just learned today was a used part and came with a terrible one year warranty. Because i was jerked around for so long and drove on a bad transmission, I then had to pay for new motor mounts because the engine had been moving too much while it was slipping. My transmission, not two years old and maintenanced regularly is now slipping ONCE AGAIN and they are NO HELP AT ALL. I now live in St. Louis, and not only will one nissan dealership work with another, they do not even have the records from one to the other so now my only option is to drive back to Columbia. I asked what they could do and Casey's response is "we need to take a look to see if its something else"--- sounds familiar...I am being jerked around all over again. I have now spent more in repairs for this car then I paid for it. They are a dealership set to rip you off and do not back up anything they do and will never work with you to handle a problem. Even at this point they are still just trying to get me to come back and pay more, but cannot answer the question, "If my transmission is bad, what can we do about it?" they beat around the bush and all they want is my business. 0 STAR RATING AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WORK! I noticed that They have a 5 star rating on here and I have had many friends that dislike this dealership as well, so this must be corrected. I have a feeling this post will never make it on this site, but I will post this review on more websites. STAY AWAY!!! More
Our experience, as we discussed as a family, was the best car buying experience we have ever had in 15 years of marriage! We were only intested in one specific vehicle, and Jonathan did an excellent job sta car buying experience we have ever had in 15 years of marriage! We were only intested in one specific vehicle, and Jonathan did an excellent job staying focused on getting us into that vehicle, as opposed to trying to change our mind, or convince us to look at other vehicles, which we have experienced in the past. We have six children, and they were all with us! The dealership was the most kid friendly we have ever been in! The offered my kids free ice cream, and they had a lounge to watch tv. There were many sales persons, and other staff in the building who were all friendly to our children, and not once did anyone act annoyed by them or otherwise. The dealership was clean, and well presented. Each person working there we encountered was friendly and accomodating. Normally I HATE buying a car, and always leave with a headache, but this was not the case. Jonathan made sure our gas tank was filled up before we left, and made sure we knew how to work everything and even called the next day to make sure we had no questions, and that we were happy with our purchase. We both agreed when we are ready to purchase another vehicle we will be back at Joe Machens because of the tremendous experience we had, and will gladly recommend Jonathan and Joe Machens to friends and family! We didn't expect to purchase a vehicle. We had gone in only to look at a particular color of a vehicle, since we had been looking on-line for cars.
