Brought my car in for AC check. Took to another mechanic previous to complete. He couldn't complete the task and cited that The freon is to low to turn the AC compressor on. There is no bypass to turn it on to fill the freon. Compressor had been checked and it is working properly. There was no relay to the fuse to bypass turning on the compressor . They did the check and refill said it was full with a 1lb and then ran the diagnostics. Seems backwards! Run the diagnostics 1st to see what it is. Then they said it was the compressor and wanted to charge $1070 for it. I was told the check and refill was $149 and diagnostics was $69. I was charge $203.59. That doesn't add up even if they really did both. Instead I have a receipt that just says labor $171, parts $15, Haz waste disposal $1.50, shop supplies $13.68. Doesn't add up! I feel like because he saw a woman they tried to take advantage of me and a lack of knowledge. Turns out that my compressor is working based on a diagnostic check from another shop. More
