Carl is the Internet Sales Lead at Joe Heidt Motors. I was actively pursuing the purchase of a 2010 leftover with specific features, and had found a number of them in dealers inventories as far away as Ma was actively pursuing the purchase of a 2010 leftover with specific features, and had found a number of them in dealers inventories as far away as Maryland, but none close by in my area of South Jersey. I did, however, find one in the inventory at Joe Heidt VW, which is still agreat distance away from me, but, at least still in my own state. I was able to contact and negotiate with Carl over the internet, without the need for hard back and forth negotiations, and, quite frankly the "I've got to talk to manager" stuff that happens when you are live in the showroom. Since this was not my first negotiation using email, I thought I'd get the normal blow-off, where no one actually expects the buyer to come through (hey, you're not a warm body in the showroom if you're a nameless, faceless stranger over the internet), but Carl did something so usual, something I had not seen from ANY other dealer. Carl emailed a personalized video, introducing himself, and providing a real response to my offer, NOT some canned video that goes to everyone. Boy was I impressed by the response, but, not initially by the offer. However, we continued to negotiate over email, and, in a short time, even while I was negotiating with other dealers via the internet, Carl made me an offer that was exactly what I was looking for. I placed a deposit that day over the phone, and since we couldn't actually get to the dealership for another 5 days, and, based on past experience buying cars in general, we really expected something to fall through before we actually got there. So, the day we were supposed to make the LONG trip there, Carl called to tell us some bad news (I knew it was too good to be true)...During detail of the car, the shop found some scuff marks on the rear bumper, and have not been able to get them removed. Carl sent me a number of pictures of the scuff so that I could see the extent of the problem. They offered me an option to pick up the car another day after it could be repaired (again, I was thinking that the deal wasn't going to happen), or they could try to arrange to have it repaired somewhere closer to my home. Either way, we were still interested in buying the car, so, I told them to do the best they could, and we'll be on our way up, and decide once we get there. Scott, Carl's manager, told me that he'll have the bumper (its just a cover), swapped with another of the same color on his lot. Since it was a 2.5-3 hour drive up, they had plenty of time to make the switch. When we arrived, the car was PERFECT! Not a thing wrong with it. The only thing that was crazy was the number of customers and the lack of parking due to the number of cars on their lot, and the number of customers in the store at the time. Wow! Who says no one is buying cars? This dealership is very small, but they were also very busy. This, unfortunately, did not provide us with as much time as we would have liked to get to know Carl and Scott more, but we're glad they were busy with sales and not just uninvolved salespeople. Chase, the finance manager was prepared, and performed his job very well, and, even though we felt somewhat "rushed" out of the dealership, our deal was complete, and we were happy buyers. What more could a dealership ask for? The only thing missing was our owners manual, which Carl is planning to fedex to us shortly. All in all, we had a great experience with this dealership. We're too far away to be back for service, although I could understand other reviewers complaints about the service department due to its small size. I'll be working with my local VW dealership for service and the such, but, in the future, I won't hesitate to make the long drive again to North Jersey if the salespeople at Joe Heidt are going to be honest and work with me on the very best deal, as they have this time. There aren't too many dealerships I'd say this about, but I would certainly provide repeat business to them, even if just to match a price. My only suggestion to the dealership: The person that answers the main phone line needs to speak slower. There is no reason to jumble all the words together so that it makes to sense to the caller. I gave Joe Heidt a great review because I was very impressed with their service. I had never bought a car before so I was very nervous and stressed out about it. Robert Glavotsky was the salesman who impressed with their service. I had never bought a car before so I was very nervous and stressed out about it. Robert Glavotsky was the salesman who helped me when I went into VW Ramsey. He definitely helped me become less stressed about my decisions and he never pressured me into buying which was great! He was very knowlegeable about the cars so he was able to point me in the right direction to the car that was best for me. Not only did he know everything about the cars but he was very nice and patient with me while I was searching for the perfect car. If you are interested in a Vollkswagen and are looking for outstanding service I would highly recommend going to see Robert Glavotsky at Joe Heidt Motors in Ramsey NJ. More
My salesman Carl Jenkins and the sales manager were great to deal with. The dealership was pretty busy so it did take a lot more time to test drive and work out the deal but it was certainly acceptable. I ha to deal with. My wife recently purchased a VW from Joe heidt Volkswagen. We went there because they are conveniently located on Rt 17 and because they have been there for over 50 years, To my surprise it was Volkswagen. We went there because they are conveniently located on Rt 17 and because they have been there for over 50 years, To my surprise it was an exceptional car buying experience. Never pushy, never rushing me, salesman was able to locate the exact car she wanted cheaper than Jack Daniels. I like when car dealers do everything they say they will do and pat really came through. I never felt pressured and he never had to go in the back and check with his manager. a;; pricing was up front and we discussed all aspects of the sale. If you are in the market for a Volkswagen I would definitely recommend this dealer. The car delivery experience was awesome as well. He explained every feature of the car and never rushed her. More
For the past 5 or more weeks, I've been attempting to get my auto dealer to correctly and capably repair a defective part -- a Bluetooth module in my car's radio/navigation system that often drops my Bluetoo my auto dealer to correctly and capably repair a defective part -- a Bluetooth module in my car's radio/navigation system that often drops my Bluetooth pairing. In the best of caases, it would work about 75% of the time. My dealer is Joe Heidt VW in Ramsey, NJ. I'm thinking of nominating their Service Department for medical research because I've grown accustomed to them being 'the missing link'. This story goes back nearly to my purchase of the car when this started, because it was evident quickly, so of course I took the car in to be checked at the one-month or so mark. Service barely looked at it before concluding "everything's fine, we aren't experiencing a problem". So I took a different route and swapped out my phone to prove the point. Then they decided to investigate as they should have originally by applying their diagnostic tools. Lo and behold, they could locate the issue after all, which meant they needed to order the part. Three weeks elapse and I hear nothing. So I call to find out what's happening, and I'm told the part should be in by Tuesday of the following week, so I'm ready to arrange an appointment for Thursday. Again, no news. So again, I call. "Oh, we're sorry, your part still isn't here, we're overnighting it, we should have it here by Tuesday." So I schedule my appointment for Friday, and arrange to drop the car off so that they have it overnight and can do all their work. The following day, I still hear nothing until -- yet again -- I call at nearly 5PM. "Oh, they shipped us the wrong part, we're so sorry, but stop by and we'll have a loaner car available for you." So I pick up my loaner - a so-so mini SUV called a Tiguan that at 6,000 miles had seen more ass than a typical rental car, and it had the dings and cloth stains to prove it. Once again, I wait through the weekend until Monday when -- you guessed it -- I'd heard nothing and was forced to call. "Oh, sorry, I thought we called, everything's done, come pick up your car anytime before 8PM." This I need to see, since it's been more than 5 weeks now, so I return their loaner, pick up my car after hours, and am happy to get my car home. It does not so much as recognize our phones, much less even try to pair them. We stop, we fiddle, we attempt to make them work to no avail. So I call Joe Heidt VW and ask for their General Manager because, by this point, I'm simply ticked off by incompetence. After asking for the General Manager, I get the "Sales Manager" who spends no less than three-minutes explaining how he's willing to listen to me while I vainly attempt to get a word in edgewise. Only when I asked him how he could possibly be listening when he hasn't shut up for three minutes did he finally let me explain the situation...to no avail. More
They lie and cheat and I couldnt believe that the Owner actually condons it! I would never use that dealership again. I am searching for another VW right now. I work 5 mins from this dealer and I am going actually condons it! I would never use that dealership again. I am searching for another VW right now. I work 5 mins from this dealer and I am going to buy my car elsewhere even if it is inconvenient. They treated me awful!! And amazingly enough my last Beetle had a 50,000/ 5 yr warranty on it and they kept saying they were servicing it but it never was really fixed until the warrantee was almost up. They got their moneys worth out of my warranty company!!! But the car spent more time in the shop than on the road for the first 5 years. Can you imagine??? My car battery went completely dead and had to be towed to the dealer. Joe the Service Manager said it was my fault because I didnt lock the doors in my driveway and the car had to work so hard all night long to protect itself that it killed the battery ????? what kind of NONSENSE is that???????????? Is the car alive??? sis it know it was unlocked??? WTF??? That is just one example - everytime I went there I got some bull crap excuse for the bad service.. NEVER, NEVER GO THERE FOR ANYTHING!!! I have been shopping and buying cars for years. This was my first time here and it was the best experience I have had in buying a new car. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make sure i was hap my first time here and it was the best experience I have had in buying a new car. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make sure i was happy. From the moment I went in the door they wanted to help BUT were not overbearing like some dealers. I have also been to some dealers recently where it was tough to get anyone to even acknowledge your presence. A lot can be said for this dealer, but the simple thing to say is, go in and give them a try. you will be happy. Also, the VW is a great car. More
