Everyone was wonderfully pleasant and accommodating during the purchasing process. We were so happy when we pulled out in our 'new' truck! Hidden charges to bring the vehicle up to THEIR STANDARDS have suddenly come up. We are now expected to pay money that we were not told about initially. No help from customer service. No responses to emails and phone calls. VERY rude manager when finally reaching someone. Do not recommend purchasing a used vehicle from Joe Basil!!! More
If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would. Their service is terrible. Avoid this dealership at all cost. Will save you money in the long run. service is terrible. Avoid this dealership at all cost. Will save you money in the long run. More

Basil Resale - Transit Road I purchased a vehicle from Joe Basil Resale on 1/27/19. Despite my negative experience, I felt it was a good price and I was in a very time- sensitive I purchased a vehicle from Joe Basil Resale on 1/27/19. Despite my negative experience, I felt it was a good price and I was in a very time- sensitive situation where I needed a vehicle same-day, so I decided to go through with the sale. There were two vehicles I was interested in and had text the dealership over the weekend to inquire. I sent another text on the day of my appointment to confirm that they were both still available, and at 10am that morning the Basil representative confirmed that they were, so I scheduled an appointment for 1pm. When I arrived, I was greeted by a salesman who said he was expecting me and took me around back to the vehicle I "wanted to see". When we got to the car, it was not one of the vehicles I was interested in. I looked back at my text messages and saw that I sent the correct stock #s when inquiring. After looking into the whereabouts of the 2 vehicles I came in for, the salesman informed me that they had both sold. I feel this was a "bait & switch" to get me into the door. After speaking with my wife, and doing a little more worrying about our transportation situation, I decided I'd consider purchasing this vehicle because the price was right and the salesman guaranteed same-day delivery. When it was time to run my credit app, I informed the salesman that I had applied for financing the night prior and received a pre-qualification email. He said he could not locate me in the system and that, worst case scenario, they'd submit another application. I asked if this would result in an additional hard hit on my credit report and the salesman said it would not. In hindsight, I'm realizing that the credit app I submitted was likely attached to Basil's new car operation, which is why Basil Resale was unable to find my info. However, even after I forwarded the salesman my pre-qual letter, they pushed my 2nd application through and, because they did not tell me otherwise, I remained under the impression that this would not result in a hard inquiry on my credit. Today, one day after my purchase, I was contacted by my credit monitoring company to inform me that there were a total of 3 hard pulls on my credit report. One from 1/26 when I originally applied on the Basil website and 2 additional inquiries from 1/27, the date of my purchase. Again, I specifically asked if submitting another application would adversely affect my credit and was told no. This was false. My final set of issues came at the time of delivery. I was dropped off at the dealership to pick the car up at 5:45 and left at 7:15. This doesn't seem too bad, but probably 70 of these 90 minutes was waiting that was unrelated to my deal. My salesman had several deals going at one time and had no choice but to try to juggle everything that was going on. To his credit, he was scrambling all around trying to tend to all of his customers and keep them all moving forward at the different stages of their deliveries. However, there were several salesman who clearly had no work to do and stood around aimlessly through the process. One salesman was even playing a game attempting to balance a snow brush on his palm to keep himself occupied. I understand this is largely a commission-based profession, but good customer service would have included the others pitching in to help their colleague who was struggling. Instead, I had to wait outside in my new vehicle for 30 minutes for the registration to get taped to the windshield. When I was getting ready to pull out, I noticed that the driver and passenger floor mats were absent. The salesman said they may have forgot to put them in after detailing the car and that he would let me know tomorrow (today). I reached out, but have still yet to hear back. Lastly, the vehicle was delivered with a little more than 1/4 tank of gas. I've purchased several new and used cars and this is the first time I drove away without a full tank. Overall, this was a bad experience. I hope Basil will use this review to better their service and others can consider this dealerships potential red-flags. More
