We went in to attempt to purchase a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro that they have on their lot. (This wasn't just "any" Camaro, I had owned the vehicle previously and had to sell, it was the Vehicle that my wife and that they have on their lot. (This wasn't just "any" Camaro, I had owned the vehicle previously and had to sell, it was the Vehicle that my wife and I left our wedding in) the vehicle looked pretty immaculate online. When we arrived on Saturday we were met with a trainee (which she was extremely polite) the car.... I will just say not as advertised. It was dirty when we got there, had a almost dead battery in it. We finally got it cranked and went for a test drive. I still wasn't turned away "as I should have been" just on condition, started talking to a sales manager, who had assured me by text that on the last day of the month they wouldn't loose a deal over "hundreds of dollars" and he would give me a 50 dollar gas card just for coming in. (Never received) while talking with him, it was noted that the trunk wouldn't open from the interior button or the key fob that was taped up with electrical tape. And was told the shop was closed could we go forward with the deal? I told them that would be an issue as the battery was in the trunk. I was told by the sales manager that they could run it through the shop but a battery or anything else would affect the price of the vehicle. Keep in mind, this vehicle was not marked "as is" I understand that they have to recoup money invested in a vehicle. But to know that someone is coming in from 3 hours away and not even have a semi clean vehicle that will definitely start with no issues is unacceptable. I'm not even going into all the other small issues I found on the vehicle.... at the end, just due to sentimental reasons I was still willing to take the chance and buy my old car back so I made him an offer, of about 2k less than what his last offer was and he was completely offended. So I'm sad to say that I walked. I believe this dealership could do better. My wife also overheard another mad couple leaving that the price went up after they arrived. I should also note that I am into fixing up cars. I in no way expected this vehicle to be in like new condition. But also I didn't expect it to look like it belonged on a buy here pay here lot. Edit on January 17th. After posting this I received a prompt response from the Supposed owner. He assured me that I would hear back from the manager at the dealership which I did 2 days later. He very shortly ask "how can we make a deal thats fair to both of us" long story short. Leaving the car in the exact condition it was in they would only come off another 500 bucks. The car wasn't worth it, even with the sentimental value. This was on January 2nd. I reminded them of the promised gift card and they said they would get one sent out. 15 days later now and still no gift card. The car is also no longer showing available at their dealership. I am very disappointed that they were not able to atleast "try" to be reasonable given the history I had with the vehicle. Very sorry dealership with poor customer service. I feel for anyone shopping here. More
Highly recommend this dealership even if you're out of state. They are prompt and will follow up through the entire process. Chris helped me find a specific model with a specific engine also made at a state. They are prompt and will follow up through the entire process. Chris helped me find a specific model with a specific engine also made at a certain manufacturing facility. Very rare in this supply chain climate. Even better, most dealerships will tack on a premium for rare builds. Jimmy Britt GMC did not. Start to finish, everything was smooth and very fair. To add, they helped me with delivery as I had recently undergone surgery and could not make the drive to pick up in person. I have different dealerships in different states that I go to first for certain makes. If it's GMC or Chevrolet, Jimmy Britt is my first stop moving forward. Great work guys! More
