I'm so very sorry about this instance. It is clear you received an email that is automatically triggered by our customer database, and it caused a lot of unnecessary confusion. We agree that the email would make it appear Si wasn't paying attention, but unfortunately he had no way to stop the automation. We've since removed the automated emails from the follow-up process for Si, so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

DJ - As it pertains to the behavior of our team member sharing a less-than-truthful account of your conversation with our Service Manager, you're correct that it is inexcusable. There is no cause for that and we will use your review as a coaching opportunity to get better. With that said, we had an internal discussion with multiple parties in our store, and I must say that much of your review leaves out necessary details where we did everything within our control. It is my understanding you purchased this vehicle from another dealer, and your vehicle's engine has been "tuned up" with new cams/rods/pistons. Moreover, that dealership sold you a warranty that did not cover the manipulated engine, so when your engine had an issue, it could not be covered by that warranty. After diagnosing the issue (and absorbing that cost), we proposed a new engine as we couldn't fix an altered engine for free. We allowed the warranty company to come in and confirm your engine's issue was not covered by the warranty that other dealer sold you. Again, we fully appreciate your decision to have someone else fix the issue, and we (reluctantly) absorbed the cost of all work performed. I'm not including any stories about how our team was treated less than courteous by you, because our team's behavior in response is not justified regardless how they were treated. However, I believe it was important enough to us to stand behind the work we were able to perform given a situation that was not the cause of our own store, but of the original dealership you purchased from. It isn't normal for us to reveal the true happenings in a response to a review, but given the aspects of your experience with us that were withheld, I feel it is only right to share both sides of the story. We did not do everything correct, by any means, and again, despite how Melanie may have felt she was being treated gives no excuse for her actions, but she did decide to absorb any cost you would have accrued otherwise. I'm extremely sorry this needed to be said, even more than I am this situation happened in the first place, but we are very happy you found a provider that was able to install a new engine for you at a price you were comfortable with. We hope you are happy with your vehicle for years to come.
