I got my 1st offer from Jimmy Britt Chev to pay me $5,000 to offset my negative equity if I trade my truck with them. I have been overly patient with GM to make drivable a truck I bought 13 months ago. Yes, to offset my negative equity if I trade my truck with them. I have been overly patient with GM to make drivable a truck I bought 13 months ago. Yes, I have paid $14,000 to date on a truck that I cannot use due to electronics malfunctioning even when the truck is not running, thus draining the battery down. FYI: I have also had the lifter springs replaced twice. I was told 850,000 springs have micro fractures that cause them to break. My truck is a 2021 Silverado LTZ, nice but worthless. And so, says Jimmy Britts owner today offering me less than my note to take it back. About the springs: the replacement springs broke also. GM is at fault for these issues vs. the dealership, but the dealership sold me a wrecked truck as new without disclosing it and nothing was on the CarFax sheet I read before I went to purchase at Jimmy Britt Chev, Greensboro, GA. So, I will keep you updated on how this proceeds. About GM: they have been asking me to file suit against the dealership for months. And BBB decided after 3 months to not arbitrate the matter. At one time I had (3) GM engineers scratching their heads together and no fix. 12 months of kick the can down the road, endless trips to dealerships for engineers to try something else, some epiphany they had the night before. So, I did reply with this hard-line expectation: Teah, I have asked GM for a refund on the funds I have paid to GM Financial as they take the truck back and close out my loan. This is due to not using the truck for the 113 months I have been paying GM. I am also expecting compensation for my 13 months of trouble and patients as GM engineers have tried to fix the problems. To make this less painful to GM, I offered to take a replacement truck per my specifications submitted. I am expecting to pay 50% of dealer cost for the new (not used) truck in a new GM loan at 0% interest rate. I also expect the insurance and warrantee I purchased on the broken truck to be provided on the new truck at GM expense. Note: I have paid upkeep and insurance coverage on a broken truck in addition to my time, frustration and trouble. This is the similar to buying a house, paying for it and still being homeless. I will post their 2nd offer if I get a 2nd offer. More
