This is my second review on Edmunds.com, the first was of the terrible experience that I had trying to purchase from Toyota of Northwest Arkansas. On a scale of 1 - 10 I give them a -4. Working with Jim the terrible experience that I had trying to purchase from Toyota of Northwest Arkansas. On a scale of 1 - 10 I give them a -4. Working with Jim Norton Toyota of Tulsa was terrific however. On a scale of 1 - 10, they are easily over the 10 scale. First of all, everyone knows that it is a hassle to purchase a car. From research and test drives, to offers and acceptances. Jim Norton Toyota makes this a breeze. I filled out an inquiry for a vehicle on edmunds.com and had a response within an hour from a salesman that valued my time. I let him know about the pricing research that I had completed and that I was soliciting competitive offers from local dealerships. "Not a problem", they said. Without even questioning what my best offer to date was, boom, they beat them all with their first quote. (under the edmunds.com TMV by the way). Awesome team at Jim Norton. No pressure, respectful, hassle free, NO GAMES, and an awesome coffee bar inside to boot. Hans and Will in sales, and Christopher in F&I were truly partnering with us rather than exploiting us as so many dealerships do. What a refreshing change! I will be purchasing another vehicle in the next 6 month's and it will definitely be from them. One last thing. There are two Toyota dealerships within 15 miles of my home city. I asked each of them to compete for my business and both declined to do so via phone. "Come on in", they said. "We'll win your business". In car dealership code this means, let me get you in a room where I can waste your time for hours while I constantly say, "no, we can't accept that amount". I spoke by phone and text with Will and Hans and we came to an agreement on price within minutes. No more sweaty rooms with uncomfortable chairs with the, "let me check with my sales manager" statements every time you try to negotiate a better price. Did I mention NO GAMES? Jim Norton is over 140 miles away from my home and I would drive twice that far to deal with these guys again. More
***If I gave negative 5 stars for their Customer Relations Manager Christie Pena and +5 stars for Cody Clay - this dealership/service dept averages 1 star at best!*** Took my vehicle in on 7/18 Relations Manager Christie Pena and +5 stars for Cody Clay - this dealership/service dept averages 1 star at best!*** Took my vehicle in on 7/18/11 for repair and paid in excess of $1600 ($1200 of which was labor). 3 weeks later on 8/8/11 I had to return for the SAME PROBLEM that was supposedly repaired. On 8/31/11 I had to return a 3rd time for the SAME PROBLEM to which I was advised it was something TOTALLY different and would be another $980+ to fix (of which only $191 was the part the rest was labor). Worked with rep named Cody who in turn went to the service manager to advise of the situation. Had the mechanic diagnosed and repaired my car correctly the first time I would not be incurring another almost $800 in labor charges. The service manager agreed and advised they would repair it for the price of the part only. I truly appreciate this gesture but it reflects VERY POORLY on the mechanics and the quality of work they perform. I'm not sure how this repair is going to solve the problem because the car had an oil leak. The first 2 times it was gaskets/seals, this time it is a warped oil pump. Since my oil pump is in my oil pan I can't figure out how the oil is leaking from the car onto the driveway instead of back into the oil pan - but they are the professionals and they know best!????! The ONLY reason I took my car to JNT for service is because my husband purchased a car from them and that's where he has all his work done. I should have known when he had to return with the SAME PROBLEM on 5 different occasions that my situation wouldn't turn out any differently(his car was not properly repaired until we had Toyota headquarters involved. I'm sure the service dept chose to bandage the problem in hopes the warranty would run out so we could pay full price for the proper repair.) More
Bought our used Avalon there years ago and it was a wonderful experience. Have had to use the crash/repair shop three times and each time was treated royally. One employee told me how she'd worked at a wonderful experience. Have had to use the crash/repair shop three times and each time was treated royally. One employee told me how she'd worked at another auto place but that Jim Norton was so different in a remarkably fine way. She noted his special care for individuals, telling how he and his wife handed out personally selected Christmas gifts for each female working there. Others on staff have told me what fine character Jim has. He and I are members of the same church and it's so pleasant to go out in the secular world and hear what a fine reputation Jim Norton maintains with integrity. I would not think of trading with anyone else in town. Each time my car was repaired it was finished when promised and looked good as new.Tina who is in charge, was always accommodating and helpful. I had an excellent experience working with Jonathan, my salesperson, Hans, the service manager, and others who always seemed to be looking out for unattended shoppers. Not hovering, just being sure I was salesperson, Hans, the service manager, and others who always seemed to be looking out for unattended shoppers. Not hovering, just being sure I was taken care of. Everyone I talked to dealt with me fairly and straightforwardly. Jonathan explained how the entire Norton operation worked, from sales through service, the finance rep was thorough and professional as well, and I got the Tundra I wanted. Couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. I would highly recommend Norton Toyota to my friends and family. More
Rod Rayl cares about the people he deals with. He worked hard to get me a good deal on a reliable vehible that I really enjoy driving. Walked in to buy a used car. After sitting through an hour of warranty talk just to get some numbers done up, I was told that I would have to make a decision in the next 15 minutes or the deal was up (th hour of warranty talk just to get some numbers done up, I was told that I would have to make a decision in the next 15 minutes or the deal was up (the dealership was open for another 3 hours). This is high pressure at it's finest, and I will be avoiding the Jim Norton name like the plague. More
Purchased a used car in June '09. Car is a push button start but still requires keys for trunk and glove box. They sent me home without keys and advised me to purchase them and they would refund the cost. start but still requires keys for trunk and glove box. They sent me home without keys and advised me to purchase them and they would refund the cost. They called me at the end of July (7 weeks after the purchase) and stated they found a car after I had already purchased new ones. It is now August and I have not received the key they found nor have I received the $200 refund as promised. BTW - the car has been in the repair shop approximately 7 times with engine problems. I would suggest looking somewhere besides Jim Norton Toyota when considering a vehicle purchase. More
