Well, he did which lowered my interest rate by 7%! Amazing! Several associates attended to my every request, need or question. From my initial internet search of inventory, test drive, the finance dept and out the door I must recognize Tom, Eric, Sheldon, Jamie and Sly for an awesome customer experience, the likes of which shall not be forgotten. Thank you! To top it off, I'm entered into their 10/10/10 drawing for $10,000 this December. If you work or go to USC and are looking for a great vehicle with quality customer sales and service, then look no further. You'll find it at Jim Hudson. More
My father was presented a contract for a demo Toyota as a new Toyota. The salesman made no notation of the mileage or condition as a demo. When he called them out on it all they could say was we can't lower new Toyota. The salesman made no notation of the mileage or condition as a demo. When he called them out on it all they could say was we can't lower the price. After several email exchanges and repeatedly telling Todd Sheppard that I was not upset about the price, I was upset about the misrepresentation of the vehicle and the unscrupulous sales practice. He continued to apologize over his own fair price. I can only imagine what other deceptive practices they may employ. More

They are so concerned about Mr. Hudson and wanting praise for what they 'believe' is a great deal! Wake up. When you had to be asked to leave the office for your unprofessional behavior towards a customer, my son should have walked away from your dealership. By word of mouth and internet many people will hear what kind of team Mr. Hudson has working for him! ADVICE....stay away!!! More

Upon picking up the vehicle, the maintenance required dash light was still lit and not reset and the oil change sticker had not been updated so the question is was the oil change done? I called and they put me into an answering machine due to the person being on vacation even though he was on vacation when I picked it up and PAID for it so I should be able to discuss this issue with any other agent since taking my money wasn't an issue the day before. I ended up having to go back to the service department to get this resolved. Poor attention to detail. They had time to place a "Thank you" sign on the dash but not complete the proper service sequence. More

Almost every time I have done that, I have had to return to the dealership to have some repair finished, because it wasn't done or finished correctly. This is very inconvenient, and it takes up a great deal of my personal time. Most recently, I had to replace a my cooling fan, which broke and punctured my radiator as well. Because one of the radiator hose clamps was not sealed properly by the technician, my vehicle's cooling system was compromised, which in turn caused my engine's head gasket to fail due to the engine running hot. Upon returning to the dealership, to have them fix the issue that they caused, which helped to escalate the head gasket failure, I was told that I would have to pay for their incompetence. The dealership has continued to insist that there was once a recall on the head gasket for my vehicle, and they insist that I pay for their mistake from the original repair. While I understand that some parts of a vehicle can be on recall due to a risk of potential failure, that does not always happen with every recalled part. Furthermore, I do not believe that I should have to pay for something that broke on my vehicle as a direct result of their incompetence, especially when there was nothing wrong with my engine when I took it to them in the first place. In addition to this, I was also told that I would be issued a rental car/truck to drive back and forth to work while my vehicle was being repaired, however this has never happened, and they have had my truck for about two months. Furthermore, I would also like to add that the managers of this dealership are very difficult to get in touch with if you have any issues that need to be addressed with them in particularly. And they also consistently fail to follow up with you if they say they will do so at any given time. In conclusion, I do not recommend using the service department at Jim Hudson Toyota, because the repairs may not get done accurately, and you will find that you have to keep returning for issues that were caused by them. They will also try to have you pay for repairs to your vehicle that should be covered by them. As a result of what is going on with my particular vehicle, I am beginning to seek legal counsel to potentially resolve the issue that I have with the dealership, and if I am unable to do so, I will most certainly never do business with JHT ever again! ***Update*** After posting this review two nights ago, I was contacted the next morning, and was informed that the dealership would not do anything more to resolve this issue. Therefore, I was told to come and get my vehicle bluntly. So today I managed to pay for and have the vehicle towed to another dealership's service center, where I feel very confident the work will get completed correctly the first time. I merely want everyone who reads this review or others like this, to know what I have experienced over the past couple months, which have been awful because of this situation. Please do your research regarding dealerships and their service centers before you do business with them. More
They cant do what they promised and are giving me run around I purchased a new Tvehicle on 30 November. During the purchase I made it clear that I am active duty Military and wanted to register the vehicle in A I purchased a new Tvehicle on 30 November. During the purchase I made it clear that I am active duty Military and wanted to register the vehicle in Alaska (which is my state of residence). The finance manager John was a little confused at the process but assured me that they would figure it out and it wouldn't be an issue. I picked up the vehicle the following day and the saleman transferred my Alaska plates from my trade in to the new vehicle. A couple days later I looked on the Alaska DMV website and saw it said Alaska doesn't allow you to transfer plates. I called and spoke with the finance manager on 8 December and he said they had issues with the registration because Southeast Toyota Finance (the finance company on my contract) could not finance a vehicle in Alaska. Then he suggested I register the vehicle in South Carolina and then go and change the registration to Alaska. I told him again I would NOT do this because that would cost me thousands of dollars in taxes. Quite honestly the fact that he suggested that shows how shady the business is. When I said this he said that I would need to call someone in the registrations department on Monday. On 10 December I called and spoke with the registrations person. She said she would research the issue and if you cant transfer plates she would overnight a temporary tag. I made it clear with her that I absolutely did not want the vehicle registered in South Carolina. I did not hear anything from her all week. So on 14 December my wife called and spoke with them, she was told that they checked with the Alaska DMV and the transfer was fine but the issue was that the finance company doesn't allow registering a vehicle in Alaska. She said a finance manger could call us back to discuss. A few hours later I called the Alaska DMV and the lady told me Alaska absolutely DOES NOT allow license plate transfers. I have been trying to get in touch with a fiance manager but keep getting voicemail. I left a message but haven't heard anything yet. So for the last 2 week I have been illegally driving around an unregistered vehicle with a license plate from another vehicle. Now that I have confirmed its illegal, I can not drive my vehicle. More
Sold Defective 2017 Vehicle / Did Not Refund Down Payment EVERYONE, be advised, especially U.S. Military members; do not be fooled by their fundraising campaigns, and donation campaigns they run, it is all a EVERYONE, be advised, especially U.S. Military members; do not be fooled by their fundraising campaigns, and donation campaigns they run, it is all a distraction and ploy to their deceptive business practices. Why do I say this? Jim Hudson Audi & Toyota sold me a defective vehicle and then Did Not make right on their promise in returning my full down payment from the defective vehicle. I want to speak to Jim Hudson himself or Keith Hudson so that they can look me in the face and explain why their dealerships practice fraud, do not make right on their promises and get you when you are in a desperate/rock in a hard place because of something THEY caused by selling a lemon. They played on my situation in order to ultimately make a profit. All of these individuals are deceptive and practiced fraud with my vehicle transactions: Their General Sales Manager – Todd Sheppard “Customer Service” Manager – Madison Gantt And thee worst of them all, none other than their Toyota Scion Sales or Dealership General Manager – Steve Matthews Let me start off by saying I am a 13 YEAR Active Duty Military Service(wo)man and have purchased many, many cars (us military members buy cars). This by far, since I walked through their doors, has been the upmost WORST vehicle purchasing experience(s) I have EVER had in my Entire life. To begin, I was involved with two vehicle transactions with Jim Hudson’s dealerships. Let me explain; the first transaction/sale was with the Jim Hudson Audi of Columbia dealership (by total choice/desire) and the second, which caused all of this, was with Jim Hudson Toyota Scion dealership not by desire. Jim Hudson Audi of Columbia (when they owned that dealership just a few months ago) sold me a 2017 Audi Q7; which turned out to be a total lemon with various electrical issues. This vehicle was never owned by anyone and was their “fleet/loaner vehicle” provided to customers as a courtesy when they are getting their vehicles serviced. Within a month or so I started experiencing major/various issues ranging from: the headlights being too low, water leaking into the passenger side of the vehicle during automatic car washes (enough water that would look like a quarter of an 8oz water bottle spilled out), loss of tire pressure Loudly Beeping error codes while operating my vehicle on the highway, WHILE PREGNANT, BRAKE malfunction beeping and flashing loudly error codes while on the highway, auto start/stop error codes, and finally, transmission error codes. My vehicle was in and out of their repair shops and I was constantly in loaner vehicles having to commute back and forth from Columbia, SC to Sumter, SC each and every time with my New Born Baby (by then). To add, I work on the Air Force base in Sumter and live out in the Columbia area so the commute was a long one to have to mentally endure, every single day, not knowing what that vehicle was going to do. Finally, I emailed a notice of seeking formal arbitration to the dealership’s General Manager of which was not answered by Todd Sheppard himself, but by his (no longer employed at the Audi Dealership: Peter) encompassing of him offering to pay market value for my vehicle, which was much lower than what was owed on the vehicle. I refused that offer, of course, and demanded that I would At Least receive my Full down payment back along with my vehicle being paid off in full. After the back and forth phone calls, he finally verbally agreed (because dealerships do not want anything to be in writing to make themselves look bad and have to prove themselves in cases like this). Note: that is a red flag! If they ever refuse to put their promises in writing, stop everything and consult a lawyer. Back on task now…at that point, he told me that he would pay the vehicle off entirely and provide my down payment back, which was in the thousands of my hard-earned money. He instructed me to go to any one of Jim Hudson’s auto groups/dealerships and pick a vehicle and they would make it all right through paying my Q7 off (which is the one promise they upheld) through trade in and placing my down-payment from the lemon back towards the new vehicle of choice. Quick add: get this, all they did was turn around and contact the manufacturer and filed a claim (probably with an attorney) to get all of the money they spent “paying the vehicle off” to me and to attorneys, all back; so they lost absolutely nothing. This is what would have happened to me, had I known I could have went straight to a lemon law attorney and not wasted any time with TRUSTING this dishonest/fraudulent dealership. Not only was I under duress with the entire ordeal, with health issues/coming down off of pregnancy with mental changes, etc. they falsely advertised the price of the new vehicle they sold me, then on their negotiation/price sheet it was priced and marked way higher at the same price of their top of the line models to try advance their profit margin, so they ultimately would not come out of pocket/lose money in any way with honoring their promise and returning my down payment. In reality they weren’t losing any money because they falsely marked the price up and because it was my money to begin with. They said they had to reprint the contract and did not realize until after papers were signed that they DID NOT give me my down payment back, at all. Again, I didn’t realize until after it was all said and done. When I contacted them, various of times through telephone and email documentation, they finally concluded the back and forth (verbally) that their General Sales Manager, is prepared to write a $400 check for the difference of the false advertisement but still, did not, address nor could explain why all the facts/figures were not matching up with what they listed and why they did not uphold their word to me on returning my down-payment. A $400 check?! That was a total smack in the face. To this day, they have not contacted me in any form to write/right their wrongs. To add insult to injury, they give-away brand new vehicles to people for throwing a football! Ladies and Gentleman, if they would do this to a pregnant service member of a United States military, they would do it to you. Do Not EVER, care about what they put on their negotiation/price lists that they scribble or write on, pay attention to the Contact of Sale figures and do not ever Trust that if they have to “reprint” that things will be the exact same. They are total and utter Frauds. They cheated me and in result it is identified as unfair/illegal practices with the trade of a motor vehicle, false advertisement and fraudulent practices. Thee day I walked into Jim Hudson’s Audi Dealership, was the day I have been full of stress and utter disdain. SAVE YOUR HARD-EARNED, MONEY, TIME, AND EFFORT. If you are looking for a Toyota dealership or Auto group to deal with, go to ANY other Toyota dealerships. I wish I would’ve, hindsight is 20 20, went with Dick Dyer after going through Lemon Law Attorney’s in SC and kept that Q7 until everything was all said and done and I would have been awarded all of my money back from the money wasted on that lemon of a Q7, not just a down-payment. I let that dealership off easy by: not knowing that you do not have to go to Arbitration first but CAN contact a Lemon Law Attorney and then go through arbitration as required, and by trusting their word to make things right and give me my down-payment back as promised. Don’t ever waste your time dealing with Jim Hudson’s dealerships to make their selling of a lemon right with their promise-making as I did thinking they’d keep their promise and make right the junk they sold. Just be sure to go straight to a lemon law attorney after the necessary attempts to fix the defects haven’t been met. I hope this really helps someone in the future that is sold a lemon and then cheated. I wish on everything in my life that I would’ve gone through the other recourses, that I didn’t know I could legally use at the time. Last note of my long review: what I don’t understand is how out of the many people that had “great experiences” with them, why did they decide on cheating me; I’m trying to understand what I did to this dealership or anyone to deserve this. All I wanted was a car that functioned as designed, and drove well. I am in utter distain with this. I am utterly appalled by your dishonest, fraudulent transactions to me and my family. Glad to know this is how you treat your Military Service Members, and just hard working paying customers as a whole. Still, after this review/post you all are still refusing to return my promised down payment, because of my position and ability to speak to military members on Shaw AFB at the mass level, I am prepared to brief all of the new young Airmen/Soldiers, and military/civilian members on Shaw AFB about what Jim Hudson’s dealership practices are in dealing with their U.S. Servicemen & Women. Yes, that is approximately 3.6K members on this base. I will wait until Fri. 28 Sep, 1500 (3pm), to give you all a chance to honor your promise, before I schedule to brief all Squadrons on Shaw AFB to include the Army stationed on Shaw about Jim Hudson’s dealership practices and what to look for. Doug Morrison is your POC at Jim Hudson Toyota It is my sincere pleasure to write to you today to express my sincere appreciation and to document the exceptional customer service provided to my wif It is my sincere pleasure to write to you today to express my sincere appreciation and to document the exceptional customer service provided to my wife and I by Mr. Doug Morrison. My wife and I purchased two Toyota vehicles through Jim Hudson Toyota and did so because of the due diligence, keen attention to detail and impeccable communication, superb customer service skills and prompt follow through provided to us by none other than Mr. Doug Morrison. To quickly summarize, negotiations were completed via a series of e-mail and text documents. I provided a detailed summary which clearly depicted the many variables (VIN numbers for trade-ins, credit score, specifics for both vehicles). Out of seven (7) Toyota dealerships between Florence, SC and Atlanta, GA, Mr. Morrison was the only sales associate who took me seriously and provided me with the information I requested via e-mail and text to move forward without requiring me to come into the dealership. According to Doug, he said quote “Yeah, I read what you wrote and it made sense”. Doug provided the information needed to make a sound business decision and my wife and I came in on our own in a measure of good faith. A funny anecdote, while your competitor “Fred Anderson Toyota” e-mailed me asking if they were responding at a favorable pace, the deal with Jim Hudson Toyota was already completed. My wife and I cannot thank Doug enough for his service as a Veteran and for the quality experience which he provided. Let Doug provide you the service he provided to my wife and I. Call him at 803-269-2547. One call does it all. More
