As always, I was offered a loaner for my use, but since I drive in from Chapin did not want to drive 4 hours Another great experience at Jim Hudson! As always, I was offered a loaner for my use, but since I drive in from Chapin did not want to drive 4 hours for a 3 hour job.....so, I declined. While there another issue was found, so getting the part and repairing it took another couple of hours. Since I was there so long, several other employees came up to me and made sure that I was OK and being taken care of....to which I explained I was. What caring! More
Glitches, Downloads and Road Construction I went to Jim Hudson for minor service: Install a new Navigation map database. The experience at the dealership was itself very good. Excellent waiting area, coffee, loaner computer, doughnuts, water, etc. The service unit manager assured me that the installation would only take abut one and one-half hours. I was delighted since the lady I talked setting up my appointment said expect two hours. Still enough time for lunch since I had timed my 40 mile trek from home to get me to Jim Hudson about noon. Off I went across the street for some Mexican food. Got a taco salad (Great) and a Modelo Negra. Remember to never allow a lime to be stuck in your beer, it kills the taste, necessary for Corona and Tecate, since with them you definitely WANT to kill the taste. Makes them kind of like Coors, a tasteless fluid purported to be beer. Anyway back to Jim Hudson to get my car. Two hours came and went. "Still downloading, be about 5 more minutes." Thirty more minutes, "Waiting to clean the car up." Three and one-half hours after arrival, I was on my way home. Since I had to come 40 miles and set up an appointment, Jim Hudson Service Schedulers ought to be aware of problems making the drive while there is major construction on I-77. a little warning would have helped. Final summary: Service time is a Goal not a Reality, more SCDOT awareness from the Schedulers, and faster Download speed. Hence Score: Four Stars, 80% More
