Ridiculous experience I have never had a worse experience than I did at Mazda recently. I had scheduled an appointment for routine maintenance, which was an oil change and I have never had a worse experience than I did at Mazda recently. I had scheduled an appointment for routine maintenance, which was an oil change and tire rotation. Despite this being a scheduled routine appointment, it took over two hours for staff to complete. I have no idea how it takes over two hours to do this type of work, especially as it was scheduled. I’m unclear as to why the people at Mazda think I should drive a longer distance, pay more, and wait longer to have this type of work done by a dealership when I could have driven 5 minutes to a Jiffy Lube to have the same service completed quickly for a fraction of the price. Additionally, as I was checking out, I asked 2 staff if it was normal for an oil change to take over two hours. Both agreed that oil changes do not take that long. However, neither offered an apology, explanation or any kind of incentive to “make the situation right.” Both staff had the opportunity to make the situation better, but could not be motivated to do so. I have been very happy with my Mazda and the service I have had at the dealership prior to this experience. However, this was a bad enough experience that I doubt I will return, particularly as Mazda was not willing to address it at the time it happened. While I understand that complex car problems may take a long time to work through, there is no reason that I needed to spend over two hours waiting. Additionally, I was waiting with my infant. One might think that out of common courtesy for a young mother, the staff could have moved through their work in a timely manner. Clearly that was not the case. Truly, something needs to be done to rectify this situation. More
