I took my car in to your dealership because of a Check Engine light- once an appointment was scheduled and the car looked over by your service department. i was told that there were some repairs needed Engine light- once an appointment was scheduled and the car looked over by your service department. i was told that there were some repairs needed - an Oil Control "Sensor""that was not covered under warranty and would cost $348.20 to fix-an Oil Change - Fuel System Cleaner@$24.00 - Cabin Air Filter@$67.45- Transmission Fluid Replacement@ $291.95- Valve Cover Gasket was leaking and needed replaced @$417.38. I asked why the replacement of the of the Oil Control Valve "Sensor" - Valve Cover Gaskets were not covered by warranty- was told the Oil Control "Sensor" wasnt covered after 80,000 miles (small print on the 100,000 mile warranty) They ended up covering the Gasket replacement and I chose to take the car somewhere else to have the Oil Control "Sensor" replaced using the part number listed on the service department documents(which none of which say SENSOR anywhere on the part description- well not only was that part not able to be found using the numbers supplied by your service department but when they ran a Diagnostic check they found 2 codes both minor (P0014 and P0456) but nothing remotely referring to an Oil Control Sensor needing replaced. The Oil Change would have eliminated code P0014 and the fuel system cleaner would have taken care of P0456. As far as the Transmission service I have always taken my care in for all service needed as recommended and this was changed in an earlier appointment and was not needed again. I'm very disappointed in Jim Ellis Kia and feel that they were adding unneeded work $$$$ and I was being taken advantage and gouged. On top of all this I was charged $135.00 for them running a diagnostic to check the "Check Engine" light- I mean pile the $$$ here. In these trying times that is a bad representation to give someone that has been a loyal customer I have been involved in buying 3 Kia's from your dealership but you will get no more business from me- you will only see me for warranty work in the future and I will take my car to a more trustworthy source for any scheduled maintenance and especially for any Check Engine light so that I am not overcharged and taken advantage of- Shame on you. More
