I have already recommended Melvin and Cobb County Kia to my friends and coworkers. More
On 08/11/2010 I purchased a 2003 Jeep Cherokee Laredo from Cobb County KIA. The salesman Ross Adams told me the price of the car was $8900.00. I informed the salesman on the phone before I made my visit from Cobb County KIA. The salesman Ross Adams told me the price of the car was $8900.00. I informed the salesman on the phone before I made my visit that this was my first car purchase and I did not have a cosigner and He said fine.I told him I had $500.00 for a down payment and he wanted me to come back I in pay $500.00 more later and he would sell me the Jeep for $8000.00. I agreed and informed him I was on my lunch break and would return later. He wanted to get the financing started and I did not have my checkbook with me. He suggested that the only way they could start the process was to have some papers with signatures and money down.My father was driving me that day and lives 25 miles away and could only make one more trip.I told Ross Adams I would go over the papers later and let him do a electronic withdrawal of $500.00. After work I came back to KIA and they said the keys were locked up for the day and they gave me a loaner to drive.I called before returning and the car was ready.I was handed the keys and paperwork, later if was asked by my father for a contract, and could not have one. On 08/26/2010 Scott Patterson called and wanted to get me to sigh some reduced adjusted interest rate papers. He said he would not deposit the $500.00 check I sent until I came in to sign the papers. I could not leave work and he gave me Ian Jone's number. I asked my father to call Mr.Jones to see what was this about. He told me Ian Jones informed him that I needed a cosigner or bring the car back or they would send a truck to pick it up. Mr.Jones also informed him I needed $4300.00 to keep the deal the way it is.I asked my father to talk to my mom and this is what happened. A over the weekend my ex wife said she would cosign for my son. and she has excellent credit. Scott Patterson told me the rates and the car payment would go down. My ex wife called from the dealership and was told me they said the payments would remain the same and the were trying to sell here add on insurance. The interest rate would be over 14%, they claim it was the same bank that financed her house. What a bunch of clowns was she dealing with??? She got very upset and told them she would get her own financing. She asked for a copy of the contract and thet loan amount. They told her there was never a contract. We came to a mutual conclusion 'THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS AND CAN NOT BE TRUSTED'. She got the financing at around 7% in less than half an hour with my son as the primary with payments less than $300.00. The only reason to buy this Jeep was to much time wasted by these CROOKS to start over again. More
On May 14, 2010, I purchased a 2003 Volkswagen Passat at the above named dealership. I have had the car for a little over 10 weeks, and it has been in and out of the service department more than 8 times, to the above named dealership. I have had the car for a little over 10 weeks, and it has been in and out of the service department more than 8 times, towed twice because it would not start and the check engine light comes and goes at random intervals. The company that service's the warranty that was sold with the car..have begun to reject claims because they question that the vehicle was sold with major mechanical problems. I have tried on several occations to resolve the issue with Tim Dawson, the General Sales Manager and Elvis Pressly, the General Manager, but they ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CARE, that I have a vehicle that will not start; the check engine light is on, and I have been left stranded repeatedly as a result of it. I'm making car payments on a car that is sitting, one that I cannot crank and nobody knows how to fix it. I don't feel safe in the Passat I purchased and at a minimum I would expect that the dealership would exchange the vehicle for one that is mechanically sound; standing by the vhicle they sold me with a smile, but apparently once the car leaves their lot, they are DONE. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM COBB COUNTY KIA. YOUR PURCHASE WILL BE A NIGHTMARE! More
After being given the run around by a couple of dealers up I85, I was actually going to give up on Kia as a whole. However, a young man by the name of Eric gave me a call from the internet department and up I85, I was actually going to give up on Kia as a whole. However, a young man by the name of Eric gave me a call from the internet department and put me at ease. He knew the answers to all my questions and beat the other dealers prices by hundreds of dollars before I even mentioned I had been shopping. I think I got a good deal and he was very professional. I wish all car dealers could work like this. If you stop by this dealer, ask for this Eric guy, he reminds me of my grandson! More
