Provided deceptive information I brought my Enclave, which was purchased at Jim Ellis, in for an air conditioner repair and oil change with an appointment at 7:30am. Around 1:00 I I brought my Enclave, which was purchased at Jim Ellis, in for an air conditioner repair and oil change with an appointment at 7:30am. Around 1:00 I was called with a list of over $8000 in needed repairs. When the service person said I needed new tires, I knew this could not be accurate because the tires were less than 2 years old. When I mentioned this the response was I needed to talk to the place I bought them because I needed new tires. I asked for the AC only to be repaired and would it be ready today since they had the part. He hoped so. When the car had been there 9 hours, I received a call that it would not be ready until the morning. He felt the technician would finish after closing. I picked the car up the following day and drove home. The day after picking up my car, I went out to find a dead battery. Not blaming Jim Ellis but find it odd that with the head to toe check, a drained battery was not found. When I went to get the new battery at a tire shop, I had the owner take a look at the tires. He said, your tires are fine, you still have lots of wear left. I told him I was told I needed new tires and he said someone was trying to take advantage of you. The tire shop owner could have made a quick $700 by saying yes, you need new tires. But he was honest, fortunately, which Jim Ellis Service department was not. More

Check engine light 2015 Verano Took the 2015 Verano in to have diagnostics on check engine light. Great Lyft ride provided for a trip home while the guys did the work. 4 hours lat Took the 2015 Verano in to have diagnostics on check engine light. Transmission Issues Turned to Labor Problems Service Advisor, great young Lady. Bright spot of the story by far. Took From Friday afternoon drop off until Monday late afternoon to hear the "diagnostics" that I was charged $168+ that turned out to be a "test drive" from which the tech misdiagnosed the real culprit. I will give him the fact that the trans was toast but had he even dropped the pan he would have probably seen the real issue, it grenaded the converter. I don't really fault the tech (never actually talked to him but was told he was splitting his time between three dealerships which really should not be my problem. I would like to know where I could get that hourly rate for just a test drive and opinion though. Another area dealer cut your labor by $1,035 and your parts by another $400 so thanks for not much and won't be back. Oh and I will have my truck back in less time than your "diagnosis" took! Yep I'll drive a little further. More
