They misdiagnosed a problem and then charged me almost $700 for their mistake. I told them to put the original part back in since it wasn't the cause of the problem. They refused saying the part they in $700 for their mistake. I told them to put the original part back in since it wasn't the cause of the problem. They refused saying the part they installed was now a used part. I told them it wouldn't be a used part if they had correctly identifed the problem in the first place. I informed them I would take the original part to another mechanic to test it and determine if it was faulty. I left the original part in my car when I returned to Jim Coleman the second time when the problem persisted. When I picked up my car the part was missing. I spoke to the service department, General Manager and Jim Coleman himself (who I knew from our daughter's playing soccer together). I got nowhere and they all maintained they were correct in their original diagnosis. When I called Montgomery County consumer affairs, I was told they have more complaints about Jim Coleman than any other dealer. More
I am rating this dealer for sales and service. When I purchased my Sequoia I never could get a complete price breakdown or the window sticker listing what the vehicle came with or the MSRP. Only after t purchased my Sequoia I never could get a complete price breakdown or the window sticker listing what the vehicle came with or the MSRP. Only after threatening the Sales Manager was I able to get most of the information. Because I received a credit as part of a class action suit I returned to the dealership for service when I bought out the lease. Work was done that was neither required nor approved. The final insut was that JimColeman Toyota gave me my new tags with the stickers in the wrong place and upside down. I asked them to correct the problem but as of today, they have not responded. More
Don't buy from Jim Coleman. I purchased my first car, and was scammed into outrageous rates. At first I thought it was my credit (the finance guy said it was poor, rather it was fair), but later I found out was scammed into outrageous rates. At first I thought it was my credit (the finance guy said it was poor, rather it was fair), but later I found out other lenders would have given me half of the rates I got from Jim Coleman. They will tricked you into thinking your score is low, and that they are helping you out by giving you financing. Not to mention theml trying every way to sneak in other charges such as extended warrenty, extra paint protection, alarm, etc. without your approval. I was lucky enough to double check my numbers before I walked out of there and force him to removed those charges. They are scammers, and I won't buy from them again. More
I bought a 2002 Camry in 2003 at Jim Coleman and was told that it had been driven only by dealership salespeople. No one mentioned that they had repainted the bumper, and they did it improperly so that a co that it had been driven only by dealership salespeople. No one mentioned that they had repainted the bumper, and they did it improperly so that a couple of months after getting the car, the paint started peeling. I was told by another auto body shop owner that Jim Coleman had painted it incorrectly and that I should go back. I went back, they had someone come in and paint it (they refused to do it in their own shop), and again, it started peeling. I took it back again and this time, they sent it to a body shop in Sterling, Virginia who instead of painting it properly, put on a replacement (not a Toyota) bumper, which did not fit properly. I went back again to Jim Coleman, and finally talked to the managing partner, Kevin Cohan, who refused to put a Toyota bumper on the car and was abusive on top of that. I don't trust these guys for a second, and advise everyone to find another Toyota dealer. We bought our Sienna in Alexandria, and I wish we had gone there. More
